You should definitely watch all Scream movies, they ar all very much fun, scary and great! You'll be at the edge of your seat trying to guess the killer in every one of them!
So I am subbing in hopes of finishing the franchise. A lot of reactors who don't like horror have gotten over their dislike of horror films, and grown to love horror films, by watching the Scream franchise.
I'd definitely consider Scream to be a good introductory series. It's not super heavy on gore or disturbing content and it balances things out with a lot of humor/meta jokes.
Great reaction! The satire on the genre in this film works perfectly, especially at the time this released. The franchise is worth the watch! Looking forward to the next reaction
When she pulled the mask off, watch her face. You see recognition in her eyes. She most assuredly knew who it was. And that narrowed my suspect pool right from the start.
Definitely watch the other Scream movies. Also, check out the movies Jennifer’s Body(2009), I Know What You Did Last Summer(1997), Halloween(1978), The Faculty(1998), Trick ‘r Treat(2007), Final Destination(2000), Jeepers Creepers(2001), and Scary Movie(2000).
In 1996 Scream became something very fresh in the horror genre, a satirical horror!! A film which calls out the tropes of previous horror films in it's category while also having the characters doing the same thing in the movie & that is where the comedy juxtaposed with the brutality of Scream comes in & why it was such a hit with audiences
Back in the 90s kids and adults were a lot more trusting. The Internet was new. The teacher touching her chin is a caring thing. May be cringe now adays, but back then community was everything, keeping that in mind, the teacher has prolly seen Sidney grow up along with the rest of the community
1. What I like most about doing this is watching people overthink it. 2. Cell phones weren't prevalent in 1996. 3. Dewey's superior IS the janitor since Wes Craven did the cameo as Freddy Kruger. 4. The principal was the Fonz/Henry Winkler. (one of Fonzie's Jacket is on a coat hanger in the closet) 5. Tatum/Rose McGowan as long as I have a face.😍😝😈 6. I love how the inept killer keeps getting his ass kicked 7. Fun fact: The reporter lady that says "How does it feel to be brutally butchered?" is played by Linda Blair/Reagan from "The Exorcist"
The Scream series is honestly one of my favorite horror franchises! Ive only seen up to 4, but even then all of them are good and entertaining, with 3 being a weaker installment. A good mix of horror with murder mystery.
The original script of the movie was titled "Scary Movie" (later changed to Scream) which would eventually be the name used for the parody movie by the Wayans brothers in the year 2000
"How are they friends they're so lean to each other " that's pretty muchjust how things were in the 90s (at least for teen boys in the US, can't speak for anyone else)
'This movie is like low key a comedy.' for those of us that grew up watching horror and love the genre, this movie is very much a great meta comedy, all of them are hilarious and fun.
I hate when people try to tell other people what they should've done in situations like this. It's so easy to say what you would do when you're not in the situation
They *are* psychotic and I believe, during movie final, due to adrenaline overload, they got EPISODE, that bugged their perception. In fact Billy fits *paranoid psychosis* and is based on Norman Bates. His mom, like Norman's 'lives' in his head. He loves her image almost obsessively and kills in name of her grace. Original script ending also pointed at Billy's sexual issues, with Sid saying he got "INCREDIBLY small weeeenie" when shooting him. Billy also quotes Perkins, who play Bates in his reveal scene. Stu suffers to *manic psychosis* with his background movie being HALLOWEEN - we only know he got older sister, his mension(that is main center of final scene events). He also got above average strengh like putting 50 pounds overweighted Kenny in couple seconds, or gutting Casey and Steve. I will also say, with all manipulation he did, he wear MASK of dumb person. Like he literally sets people in places and subtly check their knowledge, making them do, what he wants. Using Tatum, using Randy, even Sid. Prescott see Randy ATTACKED by Ghostface, yet mimicking Meeks moves, Macher confuse her to point, where she don't trust Randy, seeing him attacked. Also, Sid says, while sitting on bed, Billy could use that call, but it is another red herring in fans face. Because Billy got no option knowing Sid will be with Tatum and even more, he did NOT have his phone. Meaning, he had to REMEMBER Raily number. Which is unlikely, because for what. Plus cops listening to his call. Who he called, however, that he couldn't tell not looking suspicious? Stu. 😂 Who is not half as dumb, as people think, BUT being psychotic, constantly riding on growing thrill need, further movie goes, he lose it more and more, believing in his own...indestructibility? Reason for example, why Macher practically LET victims hit him - Casey with phone, Tatum with bottles, Sid with doors, till moment, where practically on death verge. He let Billy stab him 5 times and glance at every of his stabs, because he suffers delusions, but he understood it was real, when bloodlost hit him. Also, like Billy movies, Stu paraphrases other people. Rules, Randy quotes, makes him say to Sid "Now You gonna die. Those are the RULES." . Tatum last words to killer? "I wanna be in a sequel!" and then Stu is like "You gotta have a sequel!". Also scene got cutted, but in front of BLOCKBUSTER, Billy literally told Stu "I help You with Your self esteem. You are far too sensitive.", which ends Stu excuse to police, he says Sid. So...yeah. They ARE psychotic. (and prefere that term, too 😂) Ps. That aside, wanna know funny piece? David Arquette was first proposed to play...BILLY. But moment he saw kissing scene with his big celebrity crush( "My whole life." Is genuine), he BEGGED Craven to play Dewey. Paid him with two, or three kids. Around 2010 they got divorced, so since SCRE4M, to not make them uncomfortable, Dewey and Gale first distance as marriage, then ends divorced, too. Other couple, that dated after SCREAM, which is funny in context of their improvised lines "I always had a thing for ya, Sid!" and "In Your dreams!" was Matthew Lillard and Neve Campbell, aka Stu and Sid. Even parting ways, they stayed in good terms. For example, when Neve was not in SCREAM VI in 2023, Lillard called out studio for sexism(as they didn't wanted to pay Campbell more, with background of her being woman). So, yeah. There is dosen of little curiousities, but I will not drag this already much too long comment further.
I don't know if you noticed, and that's one piece of an acting, but when the culprit told his motives at the end, we can see Stu being surprised. He didn't know. Also the "My mom and that are gonna be so mad" is meant to be a comical relief, but also shows the level of delusion that this guy had.
Drew Barrymore was an unofficial, uncredited producer on Scream 1996 & did a lot of bts industry shoomozing to get it made including going to Wes Craven. She was given the lead role of Sidney (big deal for her) but she convinced production she should play Casey Becker & be killed first. This video from her show details her perspective from 1996 - th-cam.com/video/C7q90h5PQvM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5WxkdZIfpltcRhd2
Really good movie, and I had such a crush on Neve Campbell when I first watched this. Maybe it would have been good to watch some of the older slasher movies like Halloween and Friday The 13th as this movie is a love letter to those but of course it's still really good even without having seen those. There is also a movie called Scary Movie which is in turn a love letter to this. It's much sillier and its sequels are pretty bad but the first one is good. At least it was too me when I was young...
Please watch the whole entire franchise if so, if you are thinking about doing that when are we going to get the next video of scream two when is it going to happen?
You said a woman cheating isn't that bad but if a man cheats he never gets to live it down or gets Calle the bad guy or its a piggish thing to do but as women do make seem the guys in the wrong and explain away their reasoning for cheating to seem like a victim and that's OK, that's wrong either way no matter the reasoning
Okay, once gf attacks Tatum when she tries the door again it's locked, though gf just entered, then after Tatum is killed the door is unlocked again so he goes in the house. Continuity issue or conspiracy theory?
Interesting how you flail about suspecting everyone when I figured out the two killer thing simply by watching them. One is a clumsy jackass who uses a loose one-handed stab. The other is careful planner using a controlled two-handed stab. It feels like a comedy because it IS a comedy or, more accurately, a satire of horror movie tropes.
Don’t worry I mean, she should’ve watched it first, but I hope she will still watch it though because the rest of the franchise hasn’t been spoiled yet
I STILL can't believe that it took the cops hours to get to the scene (from just before midnight when Sidney made the radio call, not to mention the second call reporting Billy and Stu that Sidney says she made while they were distracted, until dawn) because: 1 the police dispatcher received a frantic dispatch over the radio from a cop's radio about a murder attempt in process from a non cop 2 said dispatch was abruptly cut off on a scream 3 said cop was unable to be reached when I'm sure the dispatcher tried to call him back 4 said cop had been asked to investigate a suspicious hidden car and hadn't checked in for some time 5 ALL of this was in the middle of an active serial killer investigation
It's best to have watched a LOT of movies; I think people should wait on these until they've seen at least the first 2 Scream movies, The Exorcist, Halloween, Friday the 13th, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Shining, The Sixth Sense - - and dozens more; but at least those are a decent start, to really enjoy the franchise. Otherwise, it's just goofy with no context. Just a thought.
I like the touch that your heart rate monitor number is actually around your heart, and not on a certain corner of the screen. (Good viewing pleasure for another reason as well. 😉 🤭 )
Imho, the whole franchise is worth watching. Some are less “good” than others but I don’t think any of them are bad. They’re all great fun.
3 is considered the "worst" but is still a fun watch
@@boxcutter4244 exactly! It’s some people’s favorite. Like Zzavid haha
@@boxcutter42443 definitely isn't the worst, people just assume its the worst and have no appreciation for it. it is my favorite.
You should definitely watch all Scream movies, they ar all very much fun, scary and great! You'll be at the edge of your seat trying to guess the killer in every one of them!
Welcome to the Scream family
Probably the most consistently good horror franchise out there.
Welcome to the Scream family. So happy to have you. Great reaction!
Scream is the best slasher film of this generation
Great reaction! The satire on the genre in this film works perfectly, especially at the time this released. The franchise is worth the watch! Looking forward to the next reaction

The song you said was from Peaky Blinders is “Red Right Hand” by Nick Cave (Brit-based Aussie).

That was fun, looking forward to other scary movies.
Please watch the other Scream movies as well
Can I ask you something? Are you going to watch more of this franchise?
That was entertaining, you have to watch the 2nd one. Great reaction . 😊👏🥰

Watch scream 2
Please react to Halloween (1978), I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), Event Horizon (1997), and The Crow (1994).
the best franchise
Please watch all of the movies
Gen X was built different.
Okay, once gf attacks Tatum when she tries the door again it's locked, though gf just entered, then after Tatum is killed the door is unlocked again so he goes in the house. Continuity issue or conspiracy theory?

It's a shame you got Friday the 13th spoiled...😢

When you are done with horror month watch Scary Movie 😂😂😂
I STILL can't believe that it took the cops hours to get to the scene (from just before midnight when Sidney made the radio call, not to mention the second call reporting Billy and Stu that Sidney says she made while they were distracted, until dawn) because:
1 the police dispatcher received a frantic dispatch over the radio from a cop's radio about a murder attempt in process from a non cop
2 said dispatch was abruptly cut off on a scream
3 said cop was unable to be reached when I'm sure the dispatcher tried to call him back
4 said cop had been asked to investigate a suspicious hidden car and hadn't checked in for some time
5 ALL of this was in the middle of an active serial killer investigation
Watch them all
For Halloween fun watch the Scary Movies 1, 2, 3, & 4. It's best to have watched WAR OF THE WORLDS (2005).😅
Just a thought.
sub from me! please watch all the others or at least to the 4th movie. they are all so good!
