The nostalgia I got from this video alone is enough to make me want to play Edison format. It's also super interesting to see people being more open to unconventional ideas given a decade of deckbuilding innovation and theory. Not just card choices like Upstart Goblin but also broader concepts such as playing 41 or 42 cards without being immediately shot down.
Agree. Not mentioned in this video is that Clear Vice Dragon is seeing play in dragons now. That’s crazy considering how awful he was considered to be.
I miss those days of Yu-Gi-Oh! I came in second place with Disaster Dragon in Garden City, Michigan and got my Regional Invite and the Junk Destroyer playmat back in 2010. My only lost that day was against Six Samurai and it was because I drew bad. Alot of matches I had were Glad Beast and I beat them all. This was during the time Pot of Duality and Effect Veiler were big cards everyone was playing except myself because of how pricey they were.
In retrospect there's a couple things in this list I'd consider tweaking: -Trap Dustshoot should be in here. I legit forgot about the card existing when it's one of the power cards of the format. Oops. -Upstart in further practice isn't so ideal since the life gain can interfere with your kill turns but what's been annoying me more so is that it's been drawing bricks like extra Masked Dragons or Wyverns that want to stay in the deck. Pot of Duality is different and later format takes on this deck should still run it. For now, though better generics like Starlight Road, Smashing Ground, etc. can be slotted in.
-Dustshoot's a card that could be played over Evac and I think in my actual lists from 2010 I had it in there. Legit brainfart on that one lol. -Burial is a holdover from the classic era as alot of us on this deck mained it with the intention of using it to recycle any Wyverns that you've used to revive REDMD, Totem Dragon and any REDMDs/etc that got hit by Bottomless/Prison (the idea back then was that Burial from a Different Dimension was your 4th, 5th, and 6th copy of Red-Eyes Wyvern). There are arguably better cards to run in this slot but Burial has saved my bacon way too many times in the past for me to just drop it like that. -Return imo is not worth it in here since your goal is control rather than aggro. All you're banishing are Wyverns and the occasional Masked/Totem. I feel like that card is best used in decks that build up a huge banish pile for one single push, like Hopeless Dragon.

The memories here lol
Got a lot of comments when I played Duality in Disaster back on the day lol
I was actually watching some of your old videos while making this and I completely forgot that you played Duality back then.
Cool deck! Are there any real life tournaments for this format?
38 cards in Main deck?
