Awesome CAN Gauge Mini!!! Packed with tons of goodies!! Love the touch sensors and what they control. I also loved the "You Nuts?" message on the MPH screen when it exceeds the highest speed alert. I would probably be reading that message quite often.....Hah!!!! Thanks so much for sharing this great gauge with us!!! My best to your wife and her father!!!!!

Thanks Adam, I do like it too obviously 🙂Actually, my wife's father who is also ill is in Germany right now and been taken care of by her step mom. We live with her grandfather who has cancer is is not doing well at all and she takes care of him, including spending time in the hospital with him once for one month and the last time over a week. Not counting the trips we have to take once a week and drive to Varna for checkups. So it's pretty hard on her and me too. Anyway, we hope for the best but it's not looking good. Stay safe my friend.

Darn it....sorry...I don't know how I kept getting it stuck in my head that it was your wife's father that she was taking care of. So now I wish her father AND her grandfather the very best!!! Thanks for keeping me straight Hayri!!!!!!

@@ajones4064 No problem, I can see how confusing it can be having 2 close family members getting sick and need to be cared for. Thank you for your kind words my friend 🙂

Nice video! How do you construct the touch sensors? Is it a metal plate under the plastic, connected to the pin?

Thanks, the touch part of the sensor is actually on the PCB itself, think of it like a ground pour, in this case the size of about 5x10mm on both sides of the PCB and connected to the input of the touch sensor chip. It is sensitive enough that if you come close to the edge of the PCB it registers as a touch. So it is pretty simple, without the need to use any metal. If you like I could make a short video showing the PCB and the board design.

@@iHayri1 Thanks a lot for the info! Yes please, will be interesting to see the PCB. I was planning to do a Dragon Ball radar and the idea of placing the sensors underneath the case is awesome! Cheers

Is there a chance you'll make a similar version that would be compatible with OBD2 vehicles that are non can bus?

I don't think so, there are no requests except yours to make it worthwhile, sorry.
