    Thanks for this video. Nice and laid back. I just got my Omnicharge in the UK here and while it's charging I wanted to make sure I've got my head around most of its functions. I probably won't need it for much more than charging phones and other peripherals, but it's good to know I have the capability to punch much higher if need be.
    Actually, I hadn't even considered hooking in a usb hub or "plug board", so thanks for the inspiration.

      @@Jay37_bake I am pretty sure
      that I ordered the version for the EU. So it's close to 240. When buying it I do seem to remember they cater for these different voltages for different regions. At the very least there should be an EU and a US version.

    Hey Brennan,
    A quick correction for the video - especially the daisy chaining part.
    The display has two indicators, How much current is entering the device and how much current is exiting the battery. The one thing that it is missing is how much total current is exiting the device. This is really important when you are using pass-thru charging.
    at 18:31 you can see that 1.78 watts are exiting the battery of the device. That means that the device closest to the wall is actually discharging. The one furthest from the wall is behaving normally (IE, charging while powering all the attached devices).
    Because both of the AC adaptors are exactly the same, you can actually tell that there is approximately a total net loss of 1.78 watts of power in the form of heat from the second ac adaptor.
    Nonetheless, in the scenario above, the device furthest from the wall would finish charging, then stop drawing the full amount of power that the AC adaptor could provide, THEN the device closest to the wall would start charging.

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for that distinction, Arthur! You are correct when you say " in the scenario above, the device furthest from the wall would finish charging, then stop drawing the full amount of power that the AC adaptor could provide, THEN the device closest to the wall would start charging."
      I am really glad that your brought that up because that is cool. If I understood you correctly, that means that one could have potentially X (unknown limit to me) amount of Omnicharges hooked up like like this and they would charge furthest to nearest to the power input source!
      But the point that I was trying to make is that the device furthest from the wall was not actually charging the mouse and the toothbrush as you can see with the bottom left icon and numerals here 18:44. It was indeed being charged successfully by the Omni 20 closest to the wall, but it was unable to provide power to the attached devices.
      If you look on the Omnicharge website as well, they indicate that these devices are not chain-able while being able to sustain peripheral charging like in this scenario, I merely was hoping to represent it in somewhat more layman terms (since I am a layman, I can do this easily haha!). I apologize if I was confusing in the daisy chaining section!
      Something I found too is that as soon as you turn on both the USB and the AC charging buttons, despite whether or not the Omni 20 is hooked up to a wall and charging, it will steadily indicate between 0.85w and 1.8w is exiting the battery of the device via heat energy or otherwise as you indicated. You can see what I am talking about here 16:41 when you look at the screen of the device and see both the indicators are on.
      I hope you otherwise found the information and tutorials in the video useful, Arthur! Thank for watching my video and I am putting up more about the Omnicharges, tutorials, tips, and so on, so do subscribe or come back to see them! Cheers!

    What activities or charging purposes would you utilize the Omnicharge Omni 20 for? I am a nursing student and frequent traveler, so I can see this being used to keep my devices charged while I am in class, clinicals, or out on the road at different sights and stops! How about you? :D

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks man!!! That actually gives me a great idea! I think I will do a video soon about running medical equipment with the Omni 20 like IV infusion pumps, nebulizer treatment machines, and our computers for charting patient care, nice point you made man! Even if we do have backup generators at most hospitals, there are only so many plugs attached to the backup power grid available for use so having a supply of Omnicharges could actually benefit a lot of hospitals and clinical settings in my opinion in the event of a power outage or environmental emergency!

    Oh my god! I can't believe it! I was at first surprised to hear that you have an MSI laptop. But then, you said the GS63VR Stealth Pro, and I literally was just staring at my computer for 5 seconds with a wide open mouth. Ok. Prepare for a bunch of questions.
    1. Is it more efficient to charge the MSI through the DC port on the Omni? I feel like turning the energy into AC for the wall outlet, then back into DC with the power adapter would waste a lot of it. I already ordered it, the one without all the DC cables, and I want to know if I should return it and buy the more expensive one.
    2. How much power does the MSI take during sleep, and can how much battery percentage does it gain when fully draining the Omni?
    3. When looking at the other battery, the $30 one, you say it charges slowly, but it was the same capacity. Could it fully charge the Omni, or was there some wasted power in there?
    4. How loud are the fans when charging the MSI at sleep / light web browsing? Is it very audible?
    I know you haven't posted anything in a while, but I would really appreciate it if you are reading this if you could at least respond to the questions that you already know. Also, great video. I really liked it as it was very in depth, and had the answers to a lot of questions that I was trying to find elsewhere but couldn't. Also, I feel like you made a review on Amazon as I saw someone with an Alienware reviewing it.

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha!! I am honored and that is such a cool coincidence!!! I am happy to answer your questions to the best of my ability! Some of my information may be a little outdated or a little mixed up since I have been pursuing other projects lately, but I think the info should be useful :)
      1a. According to what I have read and heard, DC charging is going to be more efficient than AC, so in theory it should be a bit more efficient for charging your Stealth Pro. The only caveat is that to take advantage of the pass through charging, you would need to charge your Stealth Pro using its AC adapter in the AC outlet of the Omni 20 and then be charging the Omni 20 via its AC adapter. The DC charging is going to be limited to 70W continuous output versus the AC at 100W continuous so that is something to consider too.
      1b. I don't think you need to return it. You can buy this add-on pack of cables that will contain the 5.5x2.5mm adapter you will need www.amazon.com/dp/B06XWZTGQN/ref=twister_B072P5XP65?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1.
      2. It really should not take much wattage to charge it while sleeping or doing low power tasks. I made a video specifically on using the Omni 20 to charge high power laptops and I think it will answer a lot of your questions and followup questions if you have them! The laptop I tested in question was my 2017 Alienware 17 R4 with 1070 GPU, so whatever goes for it with the Omni 20 should only be more so with the MSI GS63VR! Here is the link th-cam.com/video/n7LdlYK9WvU/w-d-xo.html
      3. The other battery, the EasyACC Monster 20000mAh (which I still use a ton) could definitely charge the Omni 20 fully or at least close, but slowly! I made another that touches upon that subject: th-cam.com/video/VAjhuwuGap0/w-d-xo.html
      The idea in that video that I think is cool is that one could theoretically charge a USB power bank like the Easy Acc all day using a solar panel while using the Omni 20 (like if you were camping and doing filming or photography) and then charge the Omni 20 overnight with the cheaper power bank. Cool right?!
      4. The fan on the Omni 20 would get loud if you were charging the MSI on an empty battery as it would have more power to deliver, but in that video I shared above in question 2., I talk about how to avoid that and get better use out of the Omni 20 with your laptop!
      And you are right! My review is the second most helpful one on Amazon about the Omni 20 and is up there now :D Also, another shameless plug: I wrote a review about the MSI GS63VR that you might find compelling! It is the second most helpful one on that Amazon page too (the curse of second place in my life, haha!) www.amazon.com/gp/review/R326RR1AOPUHD3?ref_=glimp_1rv_cl.

      Thanks for the quick, in depth reply! I was watching a few of your videos about the Omni 20, and I am glad to see that this is something you keep up with, unlike other reviewers which are once-and-done kind of thing. Also, something I am really glad you mentioned, but I forgot to ask, was the type of connector the MSI uses. I was looking around prior to buying this to see if I could simply get the cable from another website, but no luck. Now I know, but since I now know they sell it separately, then I don't really need to know the size of the connector. I feel like nobody actually uses a GS63, so I was really surprised that out of luck, someone else, who knew what they were doing, had the battery, and the laptop. I fly a lot, so I wanted a battery that I can take on the plane and do work on, and then game when I get where I need to go, and this seems to fit that perfectly. I'm very happy with all this and I think you have earned a well deserved subscribe for your trouble. I hope to see more content, battery or not on this channel.

  • @alexanderbresnahan2932
    @alexanderbresnahan2932 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just a heads up on part 11, it CAN actually daisy chain like that. The reason your second device showed 0 watts being drawn is because the charger you had it plugged into was powerful enough to not only provide the power for the connected devices (load), but also charge the unit itself.

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alexander check out my reply to Arthur below, I explained the reasoning and thought process there :).

    • @alexanderbresnahan2932
      @alexanderbresnahan2932 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah, cool! Didn't see that. I just got mine today, and was already messing around with the charging while charging feature. Mainly, I think the only time I would use it is to charge my phone or something through the Omni's USB ports while its charging via the wall adapter.
      If someone has more than one of these devices, they would be better off just plugging them all directly into a source power (wall, USB charger, etc) rather than daisy chaining them. The only thing to mention there then is for speed purposes, I would not plug more than one of these into a single USB brick. Your video showed a black 4 port USB AC charger. This is due to the fact that the USB brick only has one transformer in it which splits its power across all ports somewhat evenly (depending on load). Plugging more than one Omni into a device like this (the Omni wants about 40W during charging, which is 8 amps at 5V usb max) means that the limited power of that transformer needs to split across all the connected Omnichargers. You would be better off using a power strip and multiple Omni wall chargers in that situation.
      Maybe someone could take a laptop brick, like the 240w one your alienware uses, and splice together multiple barrel connectors to get multiple full rate charges off of a single brick, but again, it all comes down to draw and supply.
      Overall, great video!

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love your commentary and proposed charging scenarios! You bring up great points that I can confirm with my own testing and other videos I have made about the Omnicharge that you are welcome to check out!
      I am glad you liked this video! I wanted to make something where people could actually SEE this thing being used instead of just talking about it or doing so without a camera shaking all over the place the whole video. That is pretty much the philosophy of my budding channel, I want to SHOW people things just the same way I would want to see them if I was interested in buying them.
      I genuinely appreciate your compliment and the knowledge you bring to the community, subscribe and feel free to suggest ideas for more for future videos or on specifics you would like to see!! :)
      Best wishes and nice talking to you, Alexander!

    Hey great video review i like this. I have question: Can you compare this with the Goal zero 100AC or 100PD vs the Omnicharger Pro ? Are both egual or one is better and powerful. Also will this Ominicharger Pro be suitable for travel on the plane as in carry it in my bag or luggage ? I want to charge simultaneously my Samsung note 10+ vs charge my Gimbal stick same time. As i live vlog on youube i need power constant for hours.. Will this power simultaneously with no problem ? Im still wondering what is best.... some say get ANKER.. some say thing else. But i do like a power bank that has a screen with information... Not just a basic power bank with flashy lights.

      Thank you for the really nice compliment, Will! It helps me know I am doing the right thing! 👍😄
      What I was referring to there is the fact that the Omni 20 can be charged with any solar panel that can hook up to it via its various charging input options. I will be making a complete video on charging the Omni 20 with an Anker 21W Portable Solar Panel charger that will be coming out on Sunday April 22nd! It will include an uninterrupted time lapse sequence of charging the Omni 20 with my new solar panel outdoors in direct sunlight from empty to full with a stopwatch keeping track of time so we can all get a good idea of how long it takes for the Anker 21W solar panel charger to charge it under mostly ideal conditions. I think people are going to love it, but that is just my opinion haha! :D Make sure you are subscribed and have checked out my other Omnicharge videos in the meantime, man! :D
      Thank you again for your nice remark and support, it is greatly appreciated!

    In the part 7A gaming laptop charging I see the Alienware's adapter output = 19.5V == 12.3A means it can use the DC output directly from Omnicharge (Adjustable 1V - 24V with 0.1V accuracy. up to 3.5A (70W max))? What will happen if Voltage is usable but Amp is doesn't.

      Hey Jobs, good question and observation! I posted an explanation of this little conundrum in the video description so I will copy and paste it here. Also check out my new complete video on charging high-powered laptops with the Omni 20! th-cam.com/video/n7LdlYK9WvU/w-d-xo.html.
      From the video description above:
      "For some additional information for you, it says on the website that it can put out 3.5A (70W max) via DC Output, so if your device requires over 70W of sustained power to run depending on what tasks you are trying to accomplish, the DC Output function will not work for it. Here is an example, the Alienware 17 R4 I featured in this video has a charger that reads output 19.5V-12.3A. To get the wattage figure, all you do is use the equation (Volts times Amps=Watts). So you multiply 19.5 by 12.3, and you get 239.85 or 240 watts as is written on the charging brick itself. Thus, the amps and wattage requirements of the Alienware 17 R4 when it is at a sustained heavy workload will render it unable to be charged by the Omni 20's DC Output function under any circumstance aside from, perhaps, being completely powered off while being charged."
      Hope that helps! Please like and subscribe for more videos like this!

      Carlos Guzman , thank you for your wonderful complements! I love making videos like this and I am going to continue to do my very best to make more like it!
      Excellent question! Apple Watches cannot be charged by any Qi wireless chargers except for their own propriety models or third party ones dedicated and certified by and for Apple. My resources from a few reliable articles say they tweaked their own Qi wireless charging interface in the Apple Watch on purpose to push customers towards Apple certified products. Perhaps future Omnicharges will include this feature, but at present it does not. Luckily, it's USB ports are perfect for hooking up the factory USB charger for Apple watches while you are on the go.
      Let me know if you have other questions and please feel free to check out my other videos. Cheers!

    i notice the fan mode was off. how loud would the omni charge fan noise would have been if you plug something in to the AC/DC port while using the device? i heard it get as loud as loud as a washing machine. don't you worry the device may overheat if you turn the fan off if let say your powering a high powered laptop?

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That, sir, is Silent Mode, not fan mode. So if Silent Mode is off, then that means that the fans are allowed to kick in when they are needed. I had the device off of silent mode in this video :) The Omni 20's fan tends to kick in when it gets above 40 degrees Celsius, it can get fairly loud, but definitely not washing machine loud. I come from the world of gaming laptops and desktops so devices getting loud when they are working hard and hot is no appalling thing to me. When I am in the classroom or another environment that is when I will turn on silent mode for a short duration of time. Hope this comment helps! -TechRN

      Hey TechRN, Thanks so much for getting back to me and your experience with the device. It does help, i'm planning to use the device on a class room setting and was curious on your opinion would it be to loud during a Class Room setting/lecture to Power my MacBook Pro? basically, from what i understand if it over heats it would just shut off. But i was thinking if i'm using omnicharger to charge the Macbook Pro at 100% battery, the omnicharge fan may not kick in because the load my be less, would you be able to confirm that if that is the case in your situation?

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      My pleasure my friend! I would absolutely be able to confirm that as I both have a MacBook Pro and have used the two together in the classroom setting just as you described. It does get a bit loud when charging the Mac from a low battery, so you may have to use the silent mode in that scenario. But exactly as you said, if the laptop or other high powered device you are powering is already 100%, it requires far less power and resulting heat to maintain the charge of the device in question! My Omni 20 has been a real life saver in some of my nursing school courses as classes like Acute Care 1 can have 3-1/2 hour lectures (and if my MBP is already depleted or fully charged, I can still guarantee a day of use without being stuck to a wall!). I appreciate your support!!

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is correct Xcentr1cK, when you are using the DC Out charging cables for the Omni 20 you cannot concurrently charge it. That is honestly fine with me though, the pass through charging cannot keep up with the power demands of the MBP I am currently using anyways (The Omni 20 can receive about 45W max, the 2015 MBP 13" requires 65 watts at max load). Thank you for watching my video!!

    if i have an 80 watt draw on cpap, how many hrs can a fully charged omnichg pro 20 power it?

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply, given that my MacBook Pro 13 draws about 65 watts at load and the Omni 20 can power it for about 50 minutes in that state, I would say you might get 30-45 minutes with your CPAP. There are variables involved that can't be calculated like if it is a constant draw at that wattage or if it is just the peak. If you buy it, I might buy it through Amazon so you can return it if it doesn't suit your needs :) Thank you for watching!

    Hi! Great video!! Can you PLEASE help me? I am about to leave for Uganda and need to know what settings need to be in place for these products to be charged by effectively by the Omni 20.
    1. 2011 Macbook 13"
    2. TYME hair straightener (Rated input: 35W - don't know if that's the info you need on it, but that's what I see so am including it here)
    I really am at a loss with what I need to set in the settings. I read where I have one chance to get it right sometimes....or it could mess up my appliance/laptop. So can you please please please tell me what I need to do for each of these? Thank you, if so.

      Oh and I did pay extra for the DC magsafe cord for the laptop. I have both a 2012-2013 Macbook Pro with retina and also the 2011 13" macbook. I will take the smaller one but would love to know how to charge both correctly, if possible. But if you have only time to tell me about one, please do the 2011 macbook. Thank you!

      Hello there!!
      My sister just got back from a mission trip to Uganda a few months ago! Wishing you the best going to see that beautiful country and meeting the wonderful people there! As it goes for your settings, I believe you should be able to plug your straightener into the AC wall outlet plug with no issues given its 35W input requirements. As for your MacBooks, the place you would go to find what you need to set the voltage of the Omni 20 at to charge each of them would be the power bricks for each device (as it will have the voltage stated there) or on the bottom of the Macs themselves!
      Check out my Omni 20 DC Output tutorial to get a better idea for how this is done with the settings and all in more detail! th-cam.com/video/m-I4vZD2A14/w-d-xo.html
      I am happy and honored you found the video helpful! Please let me know if you need any further help and good luck during your travels and with your channel!

    How many times,could this charge a Nintendo switch?

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Approximately 4 charges from empty to full for just the console, 3.5 charges with the controllers needing charged factored in! This calculation isn't perfect, but let me explain: According to the technical specifications on Nintendo's website, the Nintendo Switch console has a Lithium-ion battery that is 4310mAh. The Omni 20 at full charge has 20400mAh. 20400 divided by 4310mAh is 4.7 rounded. In the real world though, you are looking at more like 4 charges from empty to full as it is normal with powerbanks for minute amounts of power to be lost during the energy transfer process while charging, through consumption by the Omnicharge's own screen, etc. Not to mention, the switch controllers themselves require charging themselves so charging both those and the Nintendo switch console from empty to full, you are looking at 3.5 charges or so! This is a BIG power bank and it is going to be able to charge most any portable electronic internal battery-supplied device you throw at it!
      Please give the video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it, subscribe if you want to see more like it, and share it to help others out! Thanks for asking, Alex!
      P.S. As my channel grows, I am going to acquire a Nintendo Switch and actually perform an in-depth review of its use with the Omni 20. Help me get there by watching and liking the videos I have made so far, thanks!

      100 Last Good Nerves That would just depend on its wattage requirements! The Omni 20 can handle up to 100 watts of continuous output, so if your device requires less than that to charge it you should be set to go!

Watch and like my videos as they come out and subscribe to my channel to help me get me there, I'd love for you to be one of the winners if that can ever happen ;)

      Really wish I heard about this device during its campaign. This is a great in depth video of the Omnicharge in action. Hopefully the company will donate some to you for the amazing marketing your video is doing for them.

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is super nice of you to say, ThyKingz! That is exactly what I was going for, a few months ago when I was still waiting anxiously for my Omnicharge the only videos on TH-cam were of people just TALKING about them. "Come on!!!" I would say when I was watching, "Plug something into it instead of just flapping your gums!!" XD Versatility and multi-functionality is the whole point of this thing, right? Well let's see ALL of those functions and abilities on display! I finally just got mine and decided I would make such a video for others since I didn't get the benefit of seeing such videos :)
      I would love that myself! Omnicharge deserves to grow and grow as a company, it is great to see such an awesome product come from a Crowdfunded company and I am super happy to rep it everywhere I go! I use my Omni 20 every single day so it makes it easy to brag about it.
      If I ever did get more units from them and had a big enough following on TH-cam, I would definitely do a giveaway to celebrate! Maybe as I get towards 1000 subs I will push for that!
      I am planning on expanding my horizons too and making other videos that are this in-depth about other tech products, firearms, and outdoor gear (but maybe with well-timed 2X and 4X fast forwarding sequences where possible to keep them somewhat shorter ;) ). I also am expanding into game walkthroughs, demos, and non-commentary action sequences and play-throughs---I have a busy summer planned when I get done with this term, as you can see, haha!
      Thanks for the nice words again, it is really nice to know that people appreciate what I am doing and that my efforts aren't for naught :)

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nick Donnelly , I am not sure I understand your complaint. Have you owned portable power banks before? ALL portable power banks require a charging method, be it Micro USB input, USB-C input, and so on. As you can see by watching this video in its entirety as well as my others ones or by visiting the Omnicharge website, the Omni 20 and 13 can be charged MULTIPLE ways be it solar, USB input with its own USB cable, or even with your laptop charger with an included adapter of your choosing (as you can see in the video, again). Most battery banks this size take 6 to 12 hours to charge. With its own AC adapter, the Omni 20 can get a full charge in less than 3 hours. That is amazing if you understand anything about power banks.
      This is a brand new product and many more are going to be coming including USB-C variants for the newest Macs and other such USB-C charged devices like you said. Rumor has it that Omnicharge will be releasing a module for the Omni 20 that will adapt its barrel plug input and output to USB-C so that you can accommodate those needs. In the meantime, this product is still HIGHLY relevant if not outright amazing with its freaking awesome AC wall outlet (again, I show this off in the video and it's awesome) Qi Wireless charging, and DC output capabilities.
      In a few more years USB-A may be irrelevant, but right now it certainly is not. The iPhone 7 currently has a USB-A to lightening cable and the Samsung Galaxy S8 was just released with a USB-A to USB-C charger (or it can be charged wirelessly, which the Omni 20 can do). But even when the time comes when USB-C is more prolific than USB-A, there will undoubtedly be Omnicharges equipped with USB-C input/output out of the box like I already said :).
      I hope you found this explanation helpful, keep in mind that this and a few of my other videos about Omnicharge are long but do cover a wide gambit of information that you seem confused or unsure about.
      Best,
      TechRN

      It could have internal charging - this looks as much PSU as battery - it's not some dumb unit. But either way - without PD this thing is DoA in 2017.

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not familiar with what you mean by "it could have internal charging" and saying that it does not have PD? Can you please clarify? I have owned and used dozens of portable power banks from Anker, Easyacc, and Mophie and this is the best power bank I have seen so far in this form factor with these features (save for USB-C) so I am really just trying to understand what your expectations are for a device like this when this is what the market currently consists of?
      What would a perfect portable power bank look like for you, Nick? This one is fantastic for what it is, so what would you like to see in future units? Omnicharge is a young and growing company so constructive advice and stated desires from customers can help them come up with blueprints for future models!

    • @bobbastian760
      @bobbastian760 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree this would be awesome - in 2014. But everything is going PD & USB-C.
      It just needs USB-PD. Anything without PD is dead on arrival. PD negates the requirement to plug a full electrical plug into it, the weird magsafe tips (discontinued) etc etc.
      It's just 3 years too late.

    • @EagleEyeHunts
      @EagleEyeHunts  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I see what you are saying. You might be happy to hear that Omnicharge is coming out with a USB-C module for the Omni 20s by summer that will allow it to do USB-C in for charging and USB-C out. Future models are of course going to include the features you want, so don't write off a crowdfunded company three months into their being initiated, there is lots of room for growth ;). For now, despite what you say, I and tens and probably hundreds of thousands of others think that this thing is awesome. So by all means, please don't buy it if you don't want to.
