Thanks Mariam, This whole saga with the shares and MACC thing is an embarrassment to the country and adding to the other scandals such as the missing dollars, is altogether sickening. And the advisory board? Now, suspicion is also cast upon the chairman. No trust in the MACC and only brings to mind an analogical pool of fishes with piranhas, barracudas and sharks. It's a feeding frenzy.
I enjoy listening to you Puan Mariam. You remind me of my law lecturer in London University, who can communicate difficult concept in easy and understandable language. These crooks can no longer capitalize on the ignorance of the people as they did before the internet age. People are knowledgeable about their rights under the Malaysian Constitution as well as the UN Declaration of Human Rights 1948. OMGoodness, Kak Mariam you dissect the tactics like a brilliant Queen's Counsel. Clear and concise. He actually chose the worst option of already bad options. For him to sue, he has to prove his innocence and also provide evidence his reputation has been impugned. Surely he will be hard press to do so as the shareholdings are registered in his and his brother's name and the funds available to purchase it will have to be shown to a properly constituted Court, the origin and how they are obtained. What a goose and I hope that Mohd. Shafee Abdullah aka Ganeson a/l Thangavellu had not proffered his bs advice. However in most jurisdictions, truth and public interest can be used as a defence by Edmund Terence Gomez, a brave and full of integrity whistleblower. It is also incorrect to slate home to the majority race as most of my experiences have been positive including the Kak who sold fried bee hoon at the Kuantan Wisma Belia Hockey Stadium. I did not change my Southern Hemisphere country dollar notes as it would meant a two hours' ride into Kuantan and she beckoned me to come behind the stall to give me some pickled vegetables ayam and rice. She even said that she loved the pickled vegetables aka kiam chai, chicken Chinese style and cook it often. At the end of the day's match she packaged up the food she could not sell and called out to me to take them back to the hotel to eat. Such is the kindness of the lady and it had stayed with me forever. Clearly, we should stand united to wrestle back our country from these bands of bandits and thieves.

Every time there is an COI on some important disaster like the Hospital Aminah fire, in spite of promises all round to make public the public inquiry, the people were prevented from knowing the details by the report getting an OSA label. This time around the issue is much bigger and the pressure to hide even greater. So the consequence is to see which side wins. The public or the government.
