    The list which is probably correct just proves that the wealth of a country in no way relates to the standard of living for the average person or quality of infrastructure. Brazil's infrastructure is far behind any European country and the quality of life in India sucks for most people who live there - just two examples I know from living there.

      China is the same thing, it has low social indicators and is the world's 2nd largest economy, that are the BRICs countries that are not developed but their GDP's beyond a developed country
      emerging countries

But the US gov. is allocating money to create manufacturing jobs so that we can become less dependent on china and more of a industrial nation again. So the chinese economy might start to slow.

      ***** Indians are all over the world. US, UK, Australia, France, Italy, Canada, you name it. And most of them only come for educational purposes. After they get their degrees, they get packing and come back home. Some decide to stay though, abandoning their own country. And im gonna be honest with you. I fucking hate those assholes. If I ever met one, you dont know how tempted I will be to spit in their face and drag their ass back to India. The country they were born and raised in, the country that gave them shelter, food to eat, water to drink, an education, and what do they do? They run off to the other nations for a 'better life'. I cant stand them... Happily the amount of Indians who do that is reducing drastically.

    The number don't mean shit as far as average folks are concerned. Quality of life of individuals is what matters. What good is being top 10 richest nation if only 2~3% of entire population has all the wealth and the rest are piss poor? Rank like that will not last long.

    For all of you saying that the US isn't the richest (and wont be the richest next year) because of debt;
    1: This video is based off of the GDP of the countries.
    2: The debt of a country has no effect on the GDP.
    3: The United States of America is in debt mostly to themselves. The majority of the money in the country goes to Social Security and other such things.
    So, don't freak out that the USA is on top of the charts.
    Their GDP is (based on this video) $14,000,000,000+ ($14 billion+), while the People's Republic of China's GDP is $10,000,000,000+ (10 billion+). And they're the second richest country on the planet.

      All you people are idiots. Yes the US government has debt, but the US people have a higher net worth than any other nation on earth. Canada has the highest TAXABLE net worth, but the problem with that is that half of Americans net worth is based on 401ks, retirement plans and non-taxed income. If you don't like the placing of Canada on this, then why don't you vote for politicians to cut taxes?

      +Nora QTR First of all, America does support is its citizens. It's called welfare. Second of all, Qatar may have a very high GDP, but we Americans have more money than you, we technically have more rich people than you. We have a better education system then you (I don't see Qatar at the top list of best education in the world) and the worlds best colleges and the brightest minds are in America, and American pop culture (media, entertainment) rules the world. America is the most generous country in the world. Whenever disaster strikes somewhere in the world, we are there, providing food and shelter for those who have suffered from those disasters. Not to mention we are the most powerful country, having the most powerful military and keeping the world at peace (the reason why we Americans are at the Middle East is too keep them under control before taking over the world. Without us, the Middle East would be more hostile than it is now). Not to mention we're more developed then Qatar.

    • @pwange55
      @pwange55 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Khris O Just a point with that America is actually 29th in education and most of their scientists and bright minds are from other countries because America has prestigious universities. Also it's a very well known fact that at least most Americans don't think on a world scale as in a study only 50 percent of a few thoasund Americans could even say where Canada was. Also comparing qatar to America is stupid as qatar size is very small.

      +Chompz_OP If you really want to mention rich countries, you will say countries like Norway, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark, Japan, South Korea, USA, Germany, and on and on... We don't need to fight for which country who is the richest or poorest. On the top 30 "best" countries, we can see most of the countries are rich but Kenya, a poor African country made it.
      They do good for the world, even though they don't have alot of money. We have to work together to make our planet a good place for Animals and Plants to live. And also, if you live in a country like... lets say Kazakhstan, your arn't rich, but your are not close to poor. If you have food, water, electrisity and a house to live in, don't complain.

    5. The United States actually produces more than 3 times as much oil as the UAE, but The UAE have a significantly smaller population, so due to demand and supply, UAE are able to sell their oil for a cheaper price to foreign states, whilst the United States, struggling with oil output, buys off Saudi Arabia which has approximately the same amount as the United States. So the United States even sells more oil then the UAE even though oil trade is one of UAE's primary exports and sources of income

    China is poised to surpass the US in nominal GDP by 2018 according to the revised estimates by Goldman Sachs. Both Beijing and Moscow know that American economic growth is a sham as most of the growth has gone to government bureaucracy and the military-industrial complex. It is no secret that the US dollar (along with the euro) is an overused fiat currency that WILL collapse in a few years time.
    The most pressing problem facing China is the intense environmental damage to her rivers and air. Despite having factories equipped with pollution-reducing technologies, they are not used because of the perceived negative impact they have on profits. If this lunacy goes on, China may have a $20 trillion economy but an insurmountable environmental catastrophe. What of the 66 million poor farmers who stand to suffer the most from such an outcome? Unfortunately, Beijing has declared that economic priorities trump any environmental concerns.
