I love how this subverts the common trope of a villain made by secioty. Dalinar was pushed by secioty towards Odium, but he completely rejected the push and chose Honor instead. This was Dalinar saying, "I'm not an animal. I made me more than anyone or anything else.
Tears down my face, the CATHARSIS of this moment was unlike almost anything I've ever read before. Strength before weakness, Radiant. For me, this scene alone made it worth the investment into the series.
@CosmereQuandaries When my mom died, I would have done anything to have the pain taken from me. Hearing Dalinar choose to keep his pain was...deeply impactful to me. One of my favorite moments to experience when reading. It cannot be a journey if it does not have a beginning...so good.
