  • Abandoned Crime Scene Mansion and Equestrian Centre. (Shooting and explosion here!) Explore # 102
    Ontario, Canada
This abandoned and mansion and equestrian centre sits on over 100 acres of property. To my surprise this house has an indoor pool and was a lot bigger then it looks from the front. I believe the equestrian centre has been in operation for over 40 years and has been abandoned for only a few years but the house has been abandoned for much longer. I noticed yellow police tape and AR-15 blank ammunition casing throughout the house. There was also an explosion in the stable building blowing out part of the staff room wall. The police has used this place for police shooting and training. This property will soon be cleared out for new industrial buildings.

I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.

Murder ? Bankruptcy ? Crimes being committed? Owned by the mob ? Shady horse racing deals ? Some kind of clubhouse or country club that revolved around horses.

We have an equine rescue and working horse farm. We are looking to relocate as hubby is close to retirement from his civil job. We have considered Canada, and here this beautiful property pops up on my feed. So sad to hear it’s getting demo’d for development. It’s becoming so difficult to find places with land, because developers need to buy up, and build up everything they see money in.

I'm from Texas, and the whole scenario reminded me of places that have either been bought by the city, donated after a death, foreclosed upon, or seized (due to illegal activity), to use for police or SWAT training facilties!!! That would explain all of the blank ammunition shells, the chair that looked like it was used in a hostage type situation, and the hole that was blown in the side of the building!!! Sometimes fire departments will also use the places for training purposes too, to practice putting out fires in properties that either need to be demolished or have been bought out for the land!!! (I would imagine that other states/locales also do the same???). Anyway, that was just my 1st thought as I watched the video....who knows though, I could be totally wrong???!!!

Just a theory here, as i don't know anything factual about this place, but the 2013 ribbons, and the Lone Survivor DVD (2013) indicate to me it has been less than a decade since occupied. Here's my guess, it looks as though it was a private mansion at one point, then later used as a B&B / horse riding resort (Laundry sign and resort looking basement for guests, 'keep door closed' signs, 'summer camp' sign). Again, just guessing, but what may have happened is the B&B sold and the new owners began renovations and were planning to make it one residence again, maybe flip it. It is possible that they fell behind on property taxes and was taken back by the city / region since it usually takes quite a few years of unpaid property taxes before they act, and may eventually be up for auction, which could explain why it was repurposed for police training in the mean time. Or maybe a developer knocked on the door and offered the right price and rents it to the police until it gets developed or sold. Just my theory, I'd love to know the truth to see if I am even remotely close.

As an equestrian, I wouldn't call it a resort. Everything in and around the barn indicates a typical lesson barn/show stable. They appeared to be in the saddle seat world, based on the trophies. Likely Arabians or gaited breeds, like ASB and NSH. I am struggling to read the names on the trophy.. It looked like Hillary -Something- won a Pleasure class in 2011. Those results are recent enough that they could be found online and we might be able to piece together the rest of the story.

    • @tjclarke4604
      @tjclarke4604 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@syzygyfarm The property could have been purposed in many ways separate of one another, but the house itself looks like it was a rental to guests. You don't normally put up signs on your own doors that say "Laundry Room", or "keep door closed", as an occupant, it is likely you don't need to remind yourself of these things. The "Summer Camp" sign may very well have been part of another operation at the same location, likely the horses and backing property. I still feel that there were perhaps horse rides available to guests (I mean, why wouldn't there be? It's a selling feature). Looks like a B&B or Air B n' B to me. I'd really like to know more facts, the speculation is definitely there, and I would love to find out which one of us is closer to the truth, it's a fun thing to guess and then find out for sure. That's the problem Brent with a gorgeous salvageable property like this. As a horse owner who's always dreamed of owning a barn and arena like that it makes me cry to know that a developer bought it and it's all going to be destroyed. Part for the course... instead of recycling we've become a throw away society and it'll all go in the landfill. I would kill for the stalls as they seem in excellent shape.

That was an impressive property. The house was pretty cool and I loved the tiled bathrooms. Now that barn and indoor arena are to die for. It had everything you might need. Complete apartment for the stable manager upstairs. I was sure there would be an observation deck overlooking the arena. That one window along the side wasn’t big enough for very many people and set towards one end. The shavings and hay in a few of those stalls still looked pretty fresh. Nice find and a real shame they want to make it industrial.

    Hi Brent
WOW From the outside the house doesn’t look that big, but it is HUGE. I like that house, it has
everything, an indoor pool, a horse farm and much more. Either someone was murdered or
this place was a practice sight for the police and firemen. Those bullets were scary to see
at a residential home. That apartment up in the arena must have been for the caretaker of
the horses. It’s a shame they didn’t take all those trophies with them. Also it looks like
they replaced half of the roof. The one half looks prefect and the other one looks like
it’s ready to cave in. This house was a good find on your part. wonder

It must have been a very successful operation in its day. 40 years is a long time to be in business and then stop. Of course, who knows what happened. It must have been a very sad time too because there is so much activity surrounding horses and horse people. The training of the horse/rider, etc. takes long hours every day. Then the planning of the shows, the organization of all the events, etc. It appears there were possibly accommodations for owners, etc. Friendships are formed, memories are made - having to say goodbye to all of that can be heart wrenching. l’ll bet there are probably some clip clops to be heard too on the pavement nearby and I can hear the loudspeaker announcing the winners in each class. Fun times horses are -- I hope it is happy memories for anyone who was a part of this properties past! Thank you for sharing.

Great cavaletti pole at 27:10 - the quality kind. The house is neat, just a different era of architecture, but still fun in its own way. Did the family donate the grounds to the police for trainings?? I've heard of that for fire department training so I guess it could happen for the police. Wow I was watching this and thinking it was one you explored before and re-uploaded, it felt so familiar. When you went out on the upstairs balcony and down those spiral stairs outside I realized why... I was there and explored that house back in 2019. It is much more run down and damaged now but its definitely the same house. We didn't explore the out buildings because we were trying to get to at least 8 places in one day.

So you had planned to see this place? How did you know about it?

Shelley, do you know any backstory on it? It has water and electricity and someone paying to heat it or the pipes would have burst. Just curious as to why it’s going to be torn down

Just now found this episode. According to real estate agents, any house over 10,000 square feet qualifies being called a mansion.
Crazy fun. Glad I found it. Thanks!

Awesome exploration! The upstairs apartment was a really cool find! The whole place though was pretty amazing.

Love your explores - no unneeded silly drama narrations like most of the Euro explorers and no goofy "ghostbuster" toys like a couple others. Refreshing - thanks!

Cool place, but I agree, it does have a wierd vibe to it. It looks like it was foreclosed on or some type of property siezure took place, due to all of the stuff left there.

So sad to see the beautiful mansion and the huge equestrian training camp and boarding. So sad so much work for money people put into buying and building all that and the waste that is left in the end. It teaches us in life to not worry so much about materialistic items, houses.vshichles. In the end nothing is left. Never let materialism replace love. All we have left in the end is love. Wonderful video!

Great find! But I'll never understand why people up and abandon houses? It's a shame it's going to be demolished,it could have been made into an inn,so many homeless, could be renovated to be a shelter, definitely a beauty, wish I had it, beautiful veiws!

They're usually abandoned due to the death of the primary breadwinner, death of families, foreclosure, bankruptcy and incarceration is another and when they go away it's for a longtime often.
