Mine just arrived today (Christmas Eve 2020). Your video was a lot of help - thank you.
The directions I have now state what you instructed here.
“ run a hopper full of powder through it before you start to load anything”
“The graphite in the powder lubricates the mechanism”.

I have been using mine for roughly 10 years to reload .38 Special and .45 Auto, and as you explained, with such small loads it's darn accurate with variations never more than 1/10th of a grain, and I have been loading thousands of pistol rounds with it. To load rifle charges I have kept on using my Hornady device all those years...however 4 months ago I started reloading 7,62x54r, and I thought to give rifle loads a try with the Lee. I adjusted it to 45gr using N140, it "works" but variations of 0,3 grains up or down are common with it. Well for rifle loads variations of 0,3 are acceptable in my opinion, but be cautious when you intend to load maximum rifle charges with the Lee, in this case I would weigh every single brass case! Well in my case I am fine with those 45gr for my 7,62 Russian, and that load is still far away from a max powder charge with the 174gr fmj bt .311 round that I use for it, and if there are some charges with 45,2 or 45,3, I think it doesn't really matter. Bottom line: the Lee perfect powder measure is darn accurate for pistol loads, for rifle loads there can be acceptable variations, for bench rest shooters there is better equipment on the market... Thanks for you video and best regards from Luxembourg Europe

If you add an 8x32 threaded insert into screw hold of the drum 99% of all the problems with powder leakage goes away. You can keep it tight enough that it does not leak. All leak stopped with Acc #5 when I did this

Great review. I have one of these and you summarised it well. I'm amazed how repeatable it is, very accurate. It is a cheap, plastic, flimsy device that is perfect for 47 to 51 grain loads.

I find static cling a problem so it helps to wrap it with a anti static drier sheet. If I'm loading +P I weight every shot as I don't trust any of them. I've had mine a long time and I agree, great for the money. Thanks for the review.

Well done review. It does feel really cheap, but it works.

Powder throwers are all inherently finicky. They are either chopping up stick powders or binding up with finer ball powders and flake. I don't trust them with a few of the powders that run well in my handloads. I resolve to use the really useful Lee powder scoops and depending on what I am doing I just weigh out each cartridge sometimes. It just depends for me. Good review. Maybe I outta give this one another look or just buy the automatic machine that dispenses and weighs each time. But those start at 200 bucks!

I’m glad I saw this. I was thinking I had to buy a mount (the catalog I saw showed a stand, and said “stand not included”) but you show it comes with now in the box. Thank you.

I spent months working up a pet load for a .222 Rem, going back and forth to the range, meticulously trickling and weighing different charge weights. In the end, the most accurate load was one with the charge not thrown by weight, but rather, by volume - using the Lee Perfect Powder Measure. Don't under estimate this little unit.

  • @K5KTM

I have one, it works very well. It is good for approximating a charge. I throw a little light and then use a powder trickler to achieve the desired exact charge weight. Mostly for IMR 4064 and 8208XBR, but it works smoothly with all powders i have tried. Its a bit clunky at times with the extruded stick powder, but overall works fine.

Thank you for the video. I could not load 5.7X28 on my Hornady AP so I bought a Lee single stage press for $64.00 and this $25.99 powder measure. I'm looking forward to using them both.

You can set cases 2 deep along the edge of your case holder and drop away. It throws Titegroup to perfection, CFE 223 not as good as Titegroup but still acceptable. This powder drop or the upgraded metal body version, a lee safety powder scale and rcbs check weights makes up a very accurate powder system.

I find this measure to be excellent for the money, it is very plasticy, but what would we expect for the cost? It would have been nice to see you check your charge on the beam balance before you dropped in in the case, just to see what sort of consistency you got using your slow dispencing technique.

I have a Lee auto drum powder measure and it leaks a small amount of powder from the bottom of the drum. Is there any problem with powder leaking with the perfect powder measure?

I'm a bit aged-well at least my eyes are-and my one complaint with this measure is the aluminum micrometer thimble adjuster. It's SO hard FOR ME to see the numbers that I quit using it and put it on the shelf. Lee's tip was to use a permanent marker on the thimble-that was a major messy failure! Has anyone experienced the same challenges??? How did they remedy it? And it isn't a "glasses" thing as even WITH my specs on I still have a very difficult time seeing the embossed numbers CLEARLY.

I would get a digital scale and trickle the powder onto a little pan till I get desired grains. It'll take longer but at least it's an alternative

Picked one up today and it seems like I just wasted $25. Using the chart in the back to calculate the cubic centimeters to adjust the measurement rod, I found, at least on mine, it wouldn't go below 1 centimeter which is bad since all the 10mm Auto powder loads I need come out below the 1 centimeter point. I did get the thing to turn below that point, but now 10 to 20 percent of the charge leaks out of the end of the tube. After a half a dozen attempts at getting the correct charge, I ended up with powder everywhere. I might work if the charge you need is over 1.2 centimeters, since that's as far down it'll go. What a waste.

Do you buy an inexpensive product and complain that it is plasticky? But beyond that, metal materials are dangerous where there is gunpowder, with a spark you end badly. Products are made from a certain material for a reason.

My lee measure was over and under a tenth sometimes more. I couldn't get it to come close to accurate. On time I was high about 4 tenths of a grain and I finally threw it in the trash and got a Lyman
