Hi Highly, it's Mick in the UK. Thank you for reacting to Emily's cover of Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water, and thank you Brad for suggesting it. Emily originally recorded this song when she was twelve years old, and she covered it from a Leanne Rimes version. This time she reverted back to the Simon and Garfunkel original for her inspiration. This is a gorgeous version of this great song. Emily nails every little nuance of this and the singing is glorious. The eye contact with the camera as you say draws you in and has you believe she is singing to you. Great reaction Highly and thanks to Brad for the request. It's a beauty.
Hi Clint! This performance compared to when she was only 12, is much more tender and intimate. As you say, it's a gorgeous version and Emily is such a big talent. It's just her and the piano. I can just imagine strings being added to this soundtrack, would make it on another emotional level. I like HxC's genuine reaction to this, as he reflects on how we all feel. @steveh7216 Hey Steve, both of them special in their own way, so glad they left the first one up. I am not even going to begin to compare because I don't want any suggestion that I don't love them both. I was listening to another singer doing this and on that ' all ' that both Art and Emily took up an octave they didn't go near it. That is the kind of detail you get from Emily. There are no shortcuts with Emily. Hope all is well Steve, take care. p.s. Someday we will get strings.😂

Well, I suppose I should comment. She performed this beautifully. She had previously performed this when she was younger, maybe 12, but it was a different version than this one. This is the S&G version, and it’s got a much richer tone. The vocals of course are awesome in both, because regardless of whose version it is that she’s covering, it’s still her covering it.😊 Thanks bro for the great review. 🫶👏👏
