Amazing. I was born in '93 and I remember those old buses from my childhood, I still miss the red leather seats, i always liked the little sideways seat behind the driver.

Lothian still to this day have an immaculate fleet of well looked after buses. Shows public ownership actually works.

Thanks for posting that. I was a driver for LRT in 1992. Good times! That brought back a lot of memories.

Lived in Edinburgh as a wee lad in the early to mid 90s and used to get the number 7 from our house in Kirk Brae into the city centre. Cost 55p for mum and 40p for me! Those numbers are stuck in my head as mum often used to let me ask the driver for the tickets and at that age it was the highlight of my day!

take note folks, traffic moving freely in princes street with no need for trainsets to busy up the roads, some memories there though, mind the smt city sprinters? i refused to use them as they looked like window licker buses, and the single deckers too - the rule used to be u could smoke on them in the back two rows only - lol, health and safety eh

Yeah I remember them. I used to take the C23 home to Boswall Parkway

I was a driver for SMT back then, working out of the Westfield Depot. Many great memories. Thanks for the great video.

In those days dual fares if I recall 50p and 70p for longer journeys. Used to take 10 or 27 to Uni from West Pilton!

@hearts76100 agreed!! seems like light years ago that you could drive both ways along princes street.

@cunninm1874 They were awful, and so were their drivers. A nutcase of a driver crashed on Gorgie Rd when I was travelling to school back in the 90's - scary experience to say the least.

Why does this feel like the real Edinburgh and the current one seems fake somehow????

When Edinburgh was still Edinburgh and not the shithole it's been made to become.
