Omg! I'm just waiting to hear That Was Just Your Life done like this as that's the one song from Metallica's later catalogue that is up to bar with their 80's stuff.
You definitely need to listen to more songs if you think only That Was Just Your Life is the 'one song' up to bar with the 80's stuff... my suggestion is My Apocalypse, it's so awesome
DM is decent, cyanide is a bit iffy, Judas kiss drags on a bit in the middle, BBaS intro is a waste of time, same as all nightmare long, seriously if you cut the fat and give it a decent mix it's a killer album

The old albums had more attention to tones, ambience, intros, fade ins/outs, architected solos, reverbs/delays, unique drum/amp tones, etc. Now each album seems more or less sounding the same, guitars and vocals rarely have any ambience or effects, not many intros/outros, solos are more improvised and not intricate or well thought out, etc.

In beggining (i think) i detected DYERS EVE Arrangement ... DYERS Is one of my favorites songs ever . Plus the killer Hetfield vocals from late 86 to early 92 good work 🤘🤘🤘
It shows how good newer Metallica could of been if they kept doing what they were doing up until after the black album. Wow how it makes it sound way heavier!!!Ya can actually hear some chugs and crunch on the PM parts! They lost that after the Black Album
I also find it hilarious that people cling to that age old “everything after justice was garbage” mantra that holds no water at all. It just means those fans don’t have an open mind, and aren’t really a fan of the band. You are simply a fan of a few albums they put out. They have 11 studio albums(at least I think it’s 11 not including garage Inc and S&M). If you only like the first four then you don’t like the band overall. When the majority of music a band puts out is not something you like, it’s not them. Oh no, they got older and changed some of the music they made and tried new things. Some worked, some didn’t. It’s almost like they were just trying to keep moving forward instead of recreating the same thing over and over. Which is ironic, because if they did that the same people would still be complaining that it all sounds the same. Fans won’t ever be happy with anything.
