I was saddened by the best friends death. You could tell he was manipulated and just wanted to be good. "I want my mom," Bang!
I'm not, he had so much time to back out after the "Just scare her" plan stopped. I was just like "Garrett, STAND UP!"
He sealed his fate back when he started rapping. 😙 The second the little psycho kid knocked her down the stairs, he should have started using his brain cells and dipped.
@@nicksaysboo17 well, he was in a movie about professional paperplane competition. I think he was still recovering from the lost brain cells on that one
The way the kid's voice breaks is perfect. The inherent comedy of a pubescent boy gives this movie such a (very) dark comedic tone to me.
Also the early banter between Virginia Madsen and Patrick Warburton also helps set the tone.
That early interaction is so odd, I love it.
It's funny that he noticed the rapping brother from "The Visit" but not that the lead girl was his sister in it as well. Have seen a couple of reviews of this movie and no one every realizes they're both from it

Levi Miller gave a great performance. Him listening to the christmas carol all happy while the background is horrible is something else. This fim is very underrated!

Love the 'home invasion' red herring beginning, and the jump scares such as the spider in the kitchen, the wall phone ringing, and the washer alarm going off. Props to Levi Miller for portraying a maniac. I love how he instantly switches from freaking out over killing his friend to nonchalantly stating "You were starting to bore me anyways.", text book psychopath. The movie kinda reminded me of 'The Good Son', another good thriller which starred Macaulay Culkin from Home Alone, funnily enough (that doesn't spoil anything).

This movie is ABSOLUTELY slept on. I remember when I first saw the trailer and thought, "This looks like it might be a cool babysitter slasher movie." Then I saw it and I was like OOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DAYUM. So yeah I tell as many people as I can and if I can show them I'm showing them lol
This is one ballsy movie that forever has my heart because every time I didn’t think it would go there, it did. It’s Home Alone in the Upside Down. I’m also convinced that he ultimately gets away with it because we’re told he can get away with anything. If Ashley, knowing what she did about Luke and his actions (which I imagine weren’t limited to killing Garrett’s hamster), could look the other way, I don’t see why he couldn’t get away with this as well, with some good acting and sheer force of will.

repeat since. Can't wait to see what you think of this one because I think it's a whole fucking masterpiece. In that it's hilarious, rotted and I had no idea where the twist was going.
The twist GAGGED me! The way I went from thinking this kid had a sweet little crush to wishing someone would crush the kids head 😅
I feel like if this ever gets a sequel it could pick up right where it left off, Halloween II style. The final girl is on her way to the hospital and everything! Then we just need a Dr. Loomis to blow up the evil kid. 😂 Happy New Year!

You told a story about seeing an intruder through your front door, and I was saying that the same thing happened to me. The guy wasn't robbing us, tho. He was "pranking" us by wearing a werewolf mask and banging on our door and windows. It was hella scary but also like 30 years ago, haha. People really be bold as sin sometimes.🙃

I think the trailer for this movie actually hurt it. because the trailer spoiled the entire twist. like the whole purpose of the trailer was showing the kid doing the bad things. sometimes I hate trailers.
