Very nice setup thanks for the information I added a hood to my Miter saw and it make all the diffrence no more dust piling behind. Now I need to find these spiral tube regionally. The tubing you were able to get with it is just awesome great deal!
Yep ! Nice! I have a poor mans dust collector. It’s a leaf blower in reverse. That thing can suck start a 747 !😂 No kidding Eric, you’re super ambitious and that’s good. I need some of that because I take too long on projects. This is good info for folks looking to do a similar project.
Thanks bud! I've never understood the guys who never finish a project. I go 100% into everything or none at all. Either do it right, with quality, or don't bother doing it.
After checking out the price of a new unit, OMG, You scored quite the bargain this time. I'm singing your praises. 🎵Dust in the Wind 🎶 All we are is Dust in the Wind 🎶🎵
I am thinking on get one can’t make my mind up on Grizzly G0443 or Laguna Pflux 3hp. When you saw way cleaner but as you imply you didn’t have a dust collection. So you’re going to be way cleaner.
That dust system is a thing of beauty. Dad has one we put in with 6" PVC drain pipe and it was a huge improvement. Much smaller so a lot less static potential. That thing is looking superb though!
What you didn't answer for me and maybe you can since you have used it some more how much of the fine dust is picked up? Do you have a belt sander if so how well does it pic up the small particulates do they fall into the bin or all go into the filter?
I don't have everything hooked up, but this will pick up literally anything including small parts. Even just running one open creates a vacuum in the room and pulls fine dust out of the air.
Beside the bucket there is a bag attached im sorry my english isnt too good but i meant do you know the type of plastic bag that is used to be attached? The bag collects finer dust i assume?
Thanks for the video. Curious what the over all foot print of the unit is? I have a small shop that is half of our 2 car garage and need to upgrade to something. However I’m very limited on space.
@@GearheadDaily My main concern is not realizing a machine is on with the added noise. Especially at the end of a long day. I've heard several horror stories about that happening. But I suppose with ear protection on it wouldn't be much a difference.

Thanks! There was a local company that installs heating/cooling ducts that had it on hand when I needed it. Reasonable price too.
Good enough for Government work! Plus always got a vacuum to clean vehicles now as well.
Yessir! Definitely good enough for the ladies that go out with a dude like me.

Great video. We got the grizzly G0638hep. Should we use a 12" main spiral pipe from dust collector?
And then

Yes, it makes a HUGE difference especially when you start getting bigger tools that require dust collection

Nice looking shop, Just wondering what the shop size is and what is your longest run of 6'' pipe?
thanks. Jake
Longest run without couplings? I think maybe 4ft, but total run is probably 30ft total from collector to tool. The shop is 30x40
@@GearheadDaily Yes the total run was what I was after, thank you. Looking to build a 24' x 36' shop so I'm glad to hear a 2hp unit will work.
@@jakeh409 Oh ya its plenty, don't look at the HP numbers, they aren't always telling the full story. 2HP sometimes outperforms 3HP
@@GearheadDaily That's good to know, thanks.
Any info on the plastic bag that collects dust? I cant find any info on the type of bag and the ones i do find just rip apart.
I dont use bags, I just use the bucket and then dump it.

At 8:54 you get close to it.
Im trying to find out the type of bag that is used because the ones i order rip apart. Sorry for the bunch of msgs lol
@@eo2436 oh, the smaller one on the filter? That I have no idea. It came with it and rarely does it need emptying.
Thanks for the video. Curious what the over all foot print of the unit is? I have a small shop that is half of our 2 car garage and need to upgrade to something. However I’m very limited on space.
Its pretty tall, i think its 2.5x2.5x10
Did you get the duct supplier to engineer/layout the pipe?
No, i did that.
I'd box that in with some sound proofing.
I'm trying not to add too much in case i need to get into it, i don't mind wearing ear muffs. Probably should anyways.

@@Kmunz7 I'm a single guy in my shop and the collector isn't louder than any machine so it'd be hard to tell it wasn't on.
good video
Thank you.
