I would love to see this lineup at some point in a game: PG Paige SG Azzi SF Sarah PF Ice C Jana I really don't understand why Jana minutes have been reduced. Jana will do something good, and then she will make a bad play before she can redeem her self she's on the bench. You would think when Jana goes to the bench, Ice should replace her. Not the case. Recently, quarters go by before Ice gets in. So the only two bigs on the Huskies roster are spectators during conference play. They both need more time consistently on the floor to get better. Both bigs are sitting on the bench and the guards are in and out the game. Down the road they will be needed.
Interesting! I agree that I would like to see UConn go big at some point; I don't think it'll be a common main / closing lineup, but I think there might be matchups where it'll work. I agree with the point about Jana's minutes! She did get 20 minutes in the DePaul game, which I was pleased with, but I still think she's pulled too early in the 1st quarter / half. I understand being pulled for mistakes here & there, but not this consistently. I agree that it interferes with opportunities for her development.
One thing I don’t get is why we never go big. We have the personnel for it. Morgan can come in for another guard instead of Jana. Also don’t know why Jana is getting such few minutes. I fear our season hinges on her development. On the bright side Ice had a decent game. I’d like to see the staff experiment with big lineups now that Aubrey is coming back. Especially against smaller teams. Doesn’t make sense to match their size when we can dominate them with ours
i think Geno gives up to play big since USC.The problem is they don’t have consistent big players right now and they can’t put them in games like SC,ND.

They need a lot of minutes during big east play so that come march and when we play those teams we have consistent bigs that we can depend on. We need size to play SC and if our bigs can't even get decent minutes and develop their game in big east play then the team will suffer.

Chen is capable of knocking down 3's at around 30%- The team only shoots about 36% from 3.Iif she works on it a bit, she could be a real factor- however, she is smart and she can pass (2nd all time assist leader at Princeton) so when she drives, she forces the D inside and can kick it out to Shade or Fudd or Paige. She is good at that. IF we get 10 points a game from her, it can make a difference. Her career avg is 15 p/g so she has the skill.

You're the only youtuber that I subscribe to, so I'm a fan. In your videos, I find the cutting/restarting detracts from your content. You say one sentence, the recording stops, the recording resumes on your next sentence. It's okay to edit in post for "umm ... umm ... umm" moments we all have, but you have a natural rhythm that you should record with.
All our best lineups - big our small, 4 guards or 3 guards - have Strong at the 5 and run offense through Paige. Jana is still learning the offense, is a poor matchup for perimeter teams, and she is most def not a 4.
If a team has a reliable rim protector who doesn't foul often, the rest of the team can focus on perimeter defense. Jana isn't there yet. Sometimes it looks like Jana is wearing cement shoes.
Creighton was barely going in the paint when Jana was in the game. It’s not just rim protection. Her presence was a deterrent alone and she would’ve had more impact if she played more than 9mins

UConn needs Azzi’s offense to beat Tennessee and South Carolina and I know she is not fully back yet but her only taking a few 3 points shots makes in a game is a problem.
Agreed! I was pleased to see that she bounced back in the DePaul game. I thought she did a better job of looking for shot / her teammates did a better job at finding her. UConn definitely wants Azzi shooting more than 3 threes a game.
This is the first time for awhile KK didn't turn over more times than she scored . But she still gives up one to many uncontested shots. Ash is being Ash. Great to know she has a very confident shot and givin' the moment she will deliver at a crucial moment stifling the oppositions momentum. Morgan was not as effective tonight but kept up her high energy on defense and made the right choices on offense. Geno as per usual being Mr Inconsistant with Allie meaning didn't give her the opportunity to step up against a good team. She thrives on pressure and that's been the hallmark of her HS achievements with consistency & Morgan has proven during her leadership role at HS. Of course the level is more developed but nothing can substitute for experience at any level. That goes with maturity at every level. But decent "W" but I'm still not sure about Alfalfi and Brady. They were both alittle mediocre at times and God knows what geno has been going through with them. They need top show some improvement or they are gonna get bounced by the bigs they are about to play soon. Pray.
Rims were very tight (men's game was just before) and tight rims are known to not be ble to score well and rebounds bounce off further couple..... that with two tough defenses teams it was going to be a tough game. I think the difference for the win was turnovers and steals.

i think we're at the point where we can confidently say that azzi fudd does not know or is incapable of having a dominant game with a healthy paige; against a good team. we just keep waiting and its just not happening. i'd love to be wrong but game keep going by and it just doesnt happen
She just had an off shooting night. I think she should get the ball more for the scoring threat that she is. She's had good games against seton hall, gtown, xavier, louville, olemiss
geno is having auditioning who will be 7 or possibly 8 rotation for the march tournament. still, there are so many questions. no answers because there are flaws for so many players. kk cant shoot or ineffective on offensive. kc cant either but slower than kk shade disappeare on big game. jana/ ice... they have size but no skill to excell on top level competition. azzi is inconsistent. pb, too bad her best year is her freshman year... strong is amazing. she is the best player on the team. order to have any chance sarah strong need involve every offensive position aganist top tier competition. still, they dribble, stop and pass out for awful shots. other than pb and strong.

I'm a 50 yr BBall fanatic both once was a player and coached both boys & girls in little league, HS, college and 3rd division nationals. Had an adventure of a life time. Have made many friends and opposition turned close friends but we all had one thing in common. Critical thinking. We would criticise eachother till the sun came up but respected everyones opinion/critique and most of the time we came away a lot better for it. We backed it up and BBall was the winner. In gives one foresigt into what the coaches are thinking as much as the players are doing. Good luck.

Shoulda coulda woulda... didn't. Rims were far to tight for women's play (men just finished) and both are very heavy defensive teams. Creighton wasn't shooting well either as their top two scorers were held way lower than thier average...and they were on home court.. Credit turnovers and steals for the win.
While Creighton is a very good team, and fully merits being ranked in the top 25 or so, Uconn should have won by 25 points. Four points from Azzi and two each from Ash and Ice isn't enough. Paige and Sarah had a good game-- although Paige should have been the leading scorer and would have been if she had been conscious during the first half-- and Kaitlyn had an acceptable game. Now some of that is credit to Creighton's defense, which is very good. And some more can be attributed to nobody hitting in the first half except Sarah. But 10 or 12 from Azzi and 6 or 8 each from Ash and Ice is more like it for an off shooting night. I am somewhat concerned at their standing around on offense in away arenas. They're aware, right, the tournament will be played as away games?

Ash got 3 touches. Kinda hard to score if you don't have the ball. She just stands over there in the 3point area at the sideline patiently waiting for the ball which never comes, then runs for the rebound of her teammate's missed shot. 2nd in RBs after Sarah against Creighton. If she's going to be the 4th or 5th option now that Kaitlyn is looking to score more, she's never going to get more than a few points a game. They need to feed her the ball more when others are having an off night (see Kaitlyn and Azzi.)

Creighton coach said they would leave Chen open for threes, that worked out, zero for six. She realized she should drive to the basket instead.🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀

Give Creighton some credit. They are a very good experienced team and U Conn will see them again in the Big East Campionship game.
KK is a worse shooter than Chen. They both need to improve. Chen had good looks but missed which happens. I’m glad she’s not scared to shoot
