  • Check Out Skyforge’s 5th Anniversary Expansion - bit.ly/34oOKE5
Featuring new content like the Invasion Atlas, New Divine Form, and the Phytonide Invasion!
Lineage 2 is a Korean MMORPG made in Unreal Engine 2 that initially released in 2003 and over time has had a lot of sucess in both Eastern and Western markets, Initially the game had a subscription fee model but in 2011 made the switch over the free to play as with many other games in the genre.
Lineage 2 is a game that I never really experianced whilst it was super relevent but after hearing about the epic battles, massive world boss fights and open world I'm sure this would have been a game that I'd had loved during it's peak, In this video I check out both Lineage 2 live servers and classic to see how the game's holding up in 2020
What do you think about Lineage 2? was this a great MMORPG? do you have fond memories with the game? let me know in the comments below!

I am a former player, I started playing in C3 (almost in its early years) over there in 2004-2005. Back then, going up a single level was already a challenge (sometimes it took us weeks to go up only a small% of the experience bar), they didn't give us as much facilities to progress as now. Despite the popularity of other games of the time, such as WOW or GW, me and my friends stayed strong for many years in L2, until H5, because we really liked its solid PVP system and the sieges of castles and fortresses, which they had no other mmo at the time.
Upon the arrival of GOD, I left because the game had lost its essence and had completely transformed. I still remember very fondly this game and all the pleasant moments and experiences lived. Obviously, the game is very outdated by now, but I am surprised that it still has a solid community of players 17 years after its creation.
I also understand that other current games do not manage to convey the experience pvp and sieges that this game has, that is a remarkable feat considering that modern games come out every two by three, it seems that nothing has aged badly l2, it is nice to know it, I will always carry it in my heart and in my memories.
I just wanted to share my thoughts. Bye.

Oh man.. As someone who played lineage2 during its "Golden age", it makes me so sad seeing what they've done to the game now (main servers making you do some boring 1 click combat for 85 levels just to skip them, classic having BOT integrated and also heavily pay to win).
I won't go into too much detail, but back in the day, it was all about adventure, discovery meeting right people and gathering information. Sure lineage2 needed a lot of grind, but it also needed a lot of knowledge. There were no tutorials, you had to find quests, find monsters, figure out who drops what (and some drop rates were 1/1000000 so you had to take your time). Also for a lot of monsters/locations you needed groups, so you had to find allies to join you. Playing lineage2 solo was hardly possible at higher levels, so you had to make connections. If you invested enough time, you would find friends for life there ( I still have 3 friends met in the world on lineage2 10years ago, so now we hang out irl).
It's just.. so much memories. No other MMORPG gave me this sense of having "another life".

Lineage 2 was amazing a decade ago. Everything up to about the interlude expansion. The leveling was slow and extremely grindy, but the open world at the time was breathtaking. And the pvp...It was the first time I actually dived deep into pvp and pking. Running around the zone fighting people. The fondest memories I have are still those of me and my friend running in on our Treasure Hunters (human rogue basically), quick stabbing some clan officers in a mid/endgame farming zone and have 40 people chase us across the world. Or playing any of the range classes and doing the same hit and runs. Playing my Dark Avenger and messing abut with the pet against people. Landing clutch slows/stuns. Just lvling and seeing the armor/weapon progression. I remember how I tried to make a warsmith work in pvp with various switches and was able to pull off amazing pvp with it. Especially later when olympiad was a thing. Getting recipes, crafting gear. All those clan/alliance wars during sieges. I used to wake up at 3-4am as an 11-14 year old, pulling my first all nighters. Chasing people and being chased in narrow corridors. Fighting open world bosses.
Even flipping and merching was quite a thing, with how you could undercut and just sit on a person selling something and see each other standing up at the same time to adjust your prices or move to other locations to sell. And the community... I've played through so many mmos over these years and Lineage 2 still holds a special place in my heart. Nothing really comes close. Even during the private server golden age it was an absolute blast. It wasn't a perfect game and many didn't like it, but I loved it. Places like Dion, Gludio, Giran cities, Ruins of Agony, Ruins of Despair, Execution grounds, Cruma tower, Valley of Saints, various Necropolises, Anthara's lair, Tower of Insolence and so on are nostalgic. The video you showed is just a shallow husk of what it was. Still an amazing review, but for anyone interested in the game...It's just not the same. Not even close.

"The population of this game seems to be pretty good" :D Back in the days, that's what we called a "dead server". All main cities were full of shops and players, and by full I mean that it was almost impossible to move with mouse on the market, because you constantly clicked someone.
Is it worth playing? No. Since many, many years. People would say H5 was still a decent chronicle, I played it for years myself, but it was never a true experience you could get in C4-IL days to be honest. You worked for years on your chars and clans to achieve things and everyone cared to not lose it. H5 each time was 3-4 month grind to top level and start over.
L2 was all about the social system that the game provided to cooperate within and between clans and alliances. I have never seen in any other game so extensive and thorough discussion on which clan to help, kill or leave neutral, who can apply for boss jewelry rotation, who will get items from clan warehouse etc. etc.. Clan and ally leaders literally had meetings where they met on the top of the mountain, sat in circle and debated for hours on current situation and future plans.
Ah, I still remember how we were farming with a whole clan for several days to get materials to have a 60% CHANCE to craft ONE piece of the armor for our clan leader. And people loved it. :D Now it's unaccaptable if you spend more than 10min on some activity without gaining shitton of stuff and levels.
Lineage 2, the game of my life. Sadly no slightest chance for it to change when you look at current flashy MMOs.

As some one who played in C2 through interlude I can definitely say that the game now is completely butchered. Back in the day this was one of the best hardcore mmos out there. It had an open world and territory control dictated by players and clans, whoever been better at pvp had to keep that farming area for themselfs, open world pvp with karma system(corruption if you will) that you could engage a player and you'd turn purple, if he fights you back then he goes purple as well and it considered as pvp, but if you kill him without him fighting back you'd become red (a player killer) and had a high chance dropping your gear, and by gear I mean the shit you wear, armor, weapon, jewelry everything. It took bloody months, even years to get materials for that gear. There were xp loss for dying so you would think thrice before even trying to attack a higher lvl mob and risking to drag the entire room along with it. Hp and mp were limited, you had to sit down for 5 mins after 2-3 mobs to regenerate cause potions cost a fortune and were preferably used for pvp so you had to do your math either its worth to pop a potion now or save it for some rogue player. Class change quests took you a week to complete so you really felt you achieved something, you were exited for a new class, not lime in now a days mmos where you don't give a damn. World bosses were the center of attention for the entire server, you would camp a boss only to start it, get killed by another clan, regroup, kill them, and so on until finally after 2 to 4 hours depends on the boss, with all the anxiety you manage to kill him, and get the loot just to get that random clan declare war on you and make it into a server wide alliance war. This my friends was the best game I have played for 7 years of my childhood until they killed it. I'm 32 now, and I really do hope that ashes of creation will be what L2 was back then, as the ceo is a veteran of L2. I salute to all you veterans and hope to see you again.

Here I am, thinking: "What happened to my favourite childhood MMO?" just to click this vid and see this comment. You, my friend have almost the same experience as me, though I started at late C3 and finished with Kamael release. Played on a small locak server. This was epic game and I remember when it was my turn, my clan was gathering resources for my armour and weapons, it took us about a year to farm it all. Class transfers? Those were series of quest you could start like 6 levels before you actually could become the new class. And just by doing them you would get to the necessary level and it did took about a day to level up once. Those were the times, though I am sure neither of us would have time today to actually grind it all, as I remember playing for 4-6 hours a day. Kudos and respect to you and to the golden age of Lineage II.

Private L2 servers seem to give us some of that nostalgia trip at least. It's nice to experience that familiar feeling which came with doing pvp in the interlude-gracia final days, which was the game's golden time, although, in my personal opinion, C3C4 were the best chronicles to start the game on official. C2 had no spirit/soulshot auto activation. Fuck that sh*t :D

    • @ArchAngelCore
      @ArchAngelCore 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

There are indeed private servers, but they lack the amout of players that L2 had at its peak on the official, and fuck my life did i had to replace some keyboards cause of the manual soulshot xDDDD. but that shows you that the game got fucked over the years, cause soulshots/spiritshots back then cost a damn fortune. what made the game amazing as well was the class balance in pvp and pve alike, no class was wasted, dwarf crafters ? sits on his ass and does nothing, but crafts soulshots the most valuable thiong for speed farm. a useless dwarf that cant craft ? spoiler is your man, cant do shit but highly valuable to get extra materials, and fuck me they were worth the xp leech xDDD. me myself i was a spellhowler, at most mmo's healers looked down on caue you can do without one and wont even feel the difference, but L2, dude i would jizz in my pants if id manage to find a shillien elder or an elven elder in cruma tower XDDDDDD

A simple example of how hardcore L2 is (or was) : the xp percentage to reach the next level have 4 digits after the point... The 3rd and 4th digit were added because they were necessary : there is levels on which you needed millions of killed mob to levelup. And when you did, it was common to tell the whole guild, alliance, or even the whole server, and receive congratulations from everyone !

And the class transfer system was awesome, its not just "level up get better skills" you could feel the difference in playstyle and how it became more and specialised.
The armors are the best one ina fantasy game to me, although dark elf fall prey to the good old bikini armor, both female and male armor felt good and cool for everyone. I loved this game back in the day. SO much nostalgia listening to the L2 music.
What can i say about the game. In the early days from Chronicle 1 (C1) to Chronicle 4 (C4) it was EPIC!!
Leveling was slower, and the levels made a lot of difference in the game. That's because you could level your skills ---> more dmg/ more heals / better buffs.
You could PVP everywhere with everybody or you could just kill (PK) people. Fighting for leveling spots was a thing.
There was not a lot of quests compared to WOW, with exception of class transfers at level 20 and later at 40 and 75+.
A normal day was like, you come online go in a group with friends and you went on an adventure in this open world, killing monsters, getting better loot, fighting of PKs or other annoying groups who wanted to kill you.
Or maybe you just went on a killing spree yourself with buddies and you massacred everybody you saw. You could also "train" people, if you had a dagger class you went in a group of strong monsters, aggro them, A LOT of them and ran into a group of people who were there just trying to kill monsters and used "faint death". You lost all the aggro from the monsters and they demolished the other nearby people. :D
The thing was if a monster killed you, there was a chance for you dropping your gear (equipped or just in the inventory) not all but some including weapon you were holding. Imagine if you just hit level 40 and you grinded for hours
and hours to get enough money to buy that expensive and very strong weapon that could carry you for the next 12+ levels until you get to the next gear class and you lost it from a guy who "trained" you. Infuriating!!
The only way to lose something from your inventory or equipped gear was to die by monsters or be killed if you were a PK and had a certain number of PKs already.
More PKs you got more karma you had and if you had karma you were not
allowed to go into a village/city. City guards would attack you and kill you. If you wanted to go back into the city you had to kill monsters to lose the karma from PKs.
It was very risky to run around as a PK (red nickname) especially if you were solo. Everybody saw you are a PK - red nickname.
But either way all of this was so much FUN!!!
You could also join or create your own clan. Clan quests were also fun. There was one quest for clan level 3 if i'm not mistaken were a clan leader was poisoned and your clannies had limited time to get ingredients, craft a cure and bring it back to you.
The whole time you as a clan leader couldn't move and you also needed some healer and body guards with you. If you died, you had to repeat the whole quest. I remember when we were in a clan war with a clan who was doing this quest and lets just say they didn't have a great time :D.
People in clans had passive clan buffs (more attack, defense, HP/MP regeneration,...) and clans benefit was also in clan halls and later in castles.
Castle fights/sieges was the core of the game. Every castle had its own influence area where it was collecting taxes from the town shops. That's why every clan wanted to have its own castle. If you had one
you and your clan could get rich. So you could buy better gear for everybody to progress even faster and go deeper then others into the end-game leveling zones. The capitol city was Aden. That castle was the biggest of them all (one to rule them all - hehe) and it also collected taxes from all other castles.
    ...I miss those times...
Another thing about castles. A clan leader owning a castle could have a flying wyvern. For that you had to get a baby pet wyvern first, when it matured (leveled) you could ride it as a ground mount. But the last upgrade was a flying mount only for clan leaders who had a castle (you could also have it if you had a clan hall in aden).
Except this flying wyvern there was no flying mounts in the game.
The mount also had skills, fire breath and so on. I was on a wyvern patrolling the area from PKs and others so my clannies could level in peace and i saw an ally clan leader was running alone from a group of players from the ally we were fighting. I stormed down into the group with my wyvern, killed one guy and distracted others so my ally friend got time to escape. :)
There was also these world bosses who were hard to kill. Ant Queen, Baium, Zaken, Antharas, ... and they dropped boss jewelry and those were very powerful. You could get only 1 piece per kill + other loot. So killing those bosses was very important. Usually when you wanted to kill a boss like that you probably first fought with other clans / alliances and if your side was last one standing
you could go for a boss kill. Other people could still come back and could prevent you doing that so usually when groups were fighting the boss, you had a lot of people trying to protect them from the enemy attacks. That's also the reason why some boss fights took a lot of time.
There was also coliseum fights. People from every class and race fought and the best guy in his class/race was a hero for a certain period of time - until the next coliseum period.
He/she had a special glow and slightly boosted stats.
There are a lot of other things (enchanting, raid bosses, outposts battles - special clan halls, ...) i could write but this is already a wall of text. Sorry about that!
Nowdays the game has a lot of problems with bots and after Interlude everything went down the hill imo. If you want to have a good L2 experience play classic.
Its really a shame they didn't make L3. It could have been one of the best MMOs.
One last thing. In the past in the beginning when i was playing 2004-2010 there was no automation (the button you clicked in the video and the game did everything for you).
PS: Sorry for spelling mistakes, its 3am. :D

Long ago, the world bosses had a spawn window where it was camped and fought over by server clans up to 12!!!! Hours before he spawned. So it was usually about 10 hours of constant pvp and then about 3 hours of boss killing. One particular raid comes to mind... I hunted down www.lineage2.es it's a Spanish server(I don't speak ANY Spanish) but it's been up for 13 YEARS and pushes pop between 1 and 2 k people and it seems that they don't have any big game breaking item shops so it's still vanilla experience for the most part. Seems like no clan has monopoly on castles so their pvp scene is probably pretty lively too.

Lineage 2 is all about that player driven economy and politics. There just isn't a game out there that pushes all these aspects quite as hard as L2 did.

God, so much nostalgia... I played this as a 5 year old, first game ever played, my brother needed someone to buff him/spoil and just bought himself a new laptop so i got the old desktop, i kept playing the game from time to time until i was about 10-12. We played around on private servers mostly, cause the situation here in Poland in the 00's wasn't too great financially, sometimes we hopped onto the retail servers when the game went f2p. This is also the game that pretty much let me self-teach myself english. I also vividly remember my brother being really excited about beating the tower of insolence with his friends and getting to the last floor, his video of it is still up on youtube, im pretty sure, its the only thing he ever uploaded lol.

    i hope you read that:
    - the 1rst game you can really married another player
    - when married you can exchange a skill (the skill you want with yr husband or wife)
    - skills has no limits and you can upgrade them forever
    - map is so huge you need 2 days irl to walk it
    - in classic when you die you lost a level
    - the first game with mob train
    - crafting is not a joke
    - dwarf can summon giants to crush fortress walls
    - you can upgrade you armor, weapons and jewels with no limits
    - leader of guild can fly a giant dragon who can breath fire and attack players in pvp and siege
    - to become a leader you need to ask 3 clan member to sacrifice them self and de-level
    - you can raise giant wolves , train them, and ride them and sell them (was my job in my guild ^^)
    - anyone one can create is own shop anywhere
and SO SO SO many good things like that.
And by the way ... L2 REMASTERED VERSION is coming :)

Thank you for covering this game. So many memories. Started playing with my brother in 2004, it was my introduction to gaming and to MMORPGs and I became instantly addicted. It is so hard to put it into words but I guess every fellow L2 player who started young and with the early chronicles will agree: this game gave you a wonderful feeling of exploration and adventure, pulled you in with the beautiful soundtrack, made you feel welcome and warm in the cities. The soundtrack is just so beautiful and magical... I still listen to it often. My favorites are also the Dion theme plus Gludin and Hunters Village themes.
You truly felt like you are discovering something epic and you couldn’t wait for the new skills, what will they do, how will the animations look like. The class choices were so vast that you really felt unique as well. I remember spending days or weeks grinding, just to buy the Divine Tome or the Elven Bow. It is so hard to capture the essence of this game and put it into words if you didn’t experience it in its glory days. The game unfortunately went down when they introduced the Goddess of Destruction update where they eliminated the old classes - for example phantom rangers (dark elf) and silver rangers (elf) became the exact same archer classes with the exact same skills. They introduced so many idiotic elements they took away the soul of the game. Btw. as far as I know, there will be a new, U4 version of the game coming out. It wont be L3, but its something :) I keep returning to this game, and I will forever as long as I live to relive the beautiful memories from time to time. And I know I am not alone with this.

Spectating matches in the Grand Olympiad arenas where the best players get to face each other, each has people rooting for them. Clans rising and falling, clan leaders assembling their clans to lead sieges, alliances forming and breaking, wars, clans gathering for a grand Raid Boss fight where each one has their role and working together for hours to get rewarded with unique items and stuff. I really love the years I played this game, truly unforgettable!

In Eastern Europe the game was like a religion back in the day and I still know people who seriously enjoy playin it.
Concerning the Oficial Server it was 10x more grindy than Black Desert ever was but super rewarding. The Kamael update was the beginning of the fall and when the game went f2p that was the death of the game as we knew it.

Pre-WoW, during the Golden Era of MMORPGs, there were predominantly three games folks of planet Earth played: Ultima Online, Everquest, and/or Lineage 1 or 2. Lineage 2 was a little late to the party in the USA, though it still had numerous people who played it for quite some time after release (though many moved to WoW in 2004/5/6 as it quickly gained steam). Overseas, namely in Europe and Asia, Lineage 2 was a MASSIVE hit. In fact, I believe it had the highest number of concurrent players back in those days, well beyond the ~250k of UO and ~500k of EQ at their respective peaks.
You can pretty much trace every Asian-made MMORPG back to Lineage 2 in terms of design and functionality .... though I'm not positive if Lineage was the first game of its kind or simply perfected another title predating it. The game was typical of any other Asian MMORPG you could play back then or today: click-based at its core, which many Asian games today still rely on behind the scenes, such as TERA and Bless as modern examples; grind-heavy; aesthetically pleasing, especially with its female models; PvP-focused; lack of quests (WoW wasn't out yet to make Quests a legit thing); and gear + enhancement dependent. It was a fun game if you had a good core group of a players, but a rather boring and tedious game if you were a solo player. You'd often find yourself PKed by high level players as a solo newbie. It catered well to the Asian market, and remains popular to this day.
In the US MMORPG market, the masses began favoring PvE over PvP themed MMOs, and upon its release in 2004, WoW took all of its competition to the cleaners quite quickly thanks to its fluid, seamless, and creative quest and leveling system. Nothing else at the time compared.
Just going through your video, as many other shave echoed (and as is obvious given the game is 16 years old), the gameplay of Lineage 2 today is NOTHING like it was back in the game's glory days. It was a slow, slow grind. Extraordinarily slow. It made Black Desert look like a cake walk by comparison. Yet it had its moments. And one of those was the soundtrack. Damn did it have a good soundtrack. End "Dion" theme at the end of your video tells that tale to perfection!

Having played it in its hayday it hurts to see the game in its current state, but it seems to be appealing to some players so I can't fault it for doing what it needed to do to survive. Finding a classic private server is probably your best bet these days to experience it in some of its glory. generally that's how mmorpgs should be played and be constructed. ""realistically" it must take real life effort to achieve something.
like many mmorpg like animes show at the begining before they get op from character plot.

My thoughts and experiences about this game: I used to play it with my friends when i was really young, Chronicle 4. We used to make parties and go group farm, group pvp and raid bosses, we used to know other clan players by their names and attributes (if they were good guys or just douchebags killing weaker players, and we used to hunt them down) first time winning a siege war capturing Giran Castle was an amazing feeling. I haven't played any games whatsoever for the past few years, i guess I'm not a gamer anymore or it's just that i never found a game that gave me the same experience like lineage 2. Not a gamer anymore but I still come and take a look at this game once in a while and remember how much I miss this game. The last chronicle in L2 I played was High Five.
Every next one wasn't it anymore ...
I definitely remember the best time when people enjoyed every item they acquired in the game and there were no ready items in stores :)
I started my adventure with Lineage 2 on the Greek NOOBWARS server :)
To date, I haven't found a second game that pulled me in, there are no more games like that.
It is a pity that Lineage 2 has not developed further ...
But people are still playing on private servers :)
I would also like to play with who and where :)
To this day, I remember the first person in my history adventures with this world.
It was a White Elf named ELIM: D
Although he didn't know me and I was a terrible noob, he helped me to do quests to change my profession (Yes, to change my profession, now you just have to click and you have to. Then you had to do some tasks to gain access to new skills)
In general, today's games, despite much better graphics, do not have this something in them.
To this day I have a fondness for Dwarves because I spent a lot of time crafting and spoiling and I think that it was PVE that caught me the most, despite the fact that PVP is the quintessence of this game :)
    Greetings to all players: D
I'm old because I'm 36 years old but I remember very well the moment spent in the world of Lineage 2 :)

I played from c4 to interlude mostly on private servers, it took me 5 years of my life and I am glad it did. This was my best 5 years of my life. I want it back so bad... What I didn't expect - there will be no better game after so many years. I really didn't expect this game give me memories for all these years. I don't understand why this game was so good in these times. I was hoping we have bright future in mmo gaming and I was wrong. Nothing is better than old Lineage 2

Lineage 2 was my first MMO. It was beautiful beyond belief with just amazing graphics for it's time. Also had a thriving market economy and unique class design. BUT ... it was also grindy as all get out. I could spend hours grinding mobs non stop with top DPS classes using shots ... just to go up one level in the 30s. It also had loss of XP on death which, maybe normal but old school standards, was horribly shitty because it's an open world PVP game with bored high level players randomly ganked newbs who then ended up losing an hour or more worth of XP gain in the blink of an eye. Also had next to no quests, so it was 99% pure grind. And unless you were playing a dwarf, money to buy upgraded gear was incredibly hard to come by. Basically, suck up to dwarfs. A lot.
I don't mind a bit more of a grindy open experience, and I do play Classic WOW currently, but this one was over the top. Still, as my first MMO, it holds a place in my heart. Note: I did not keep track how the game evolved over time. This is from my experience playing this game before WOW and Guild Wars 1 came out.

My first experience of Lineage 2 must have been in 2006 when I was playing in internet cafes. The admin of the cafe showed the game to me and my friend and we started on a C3 server...what a revelation when he told us to use soulshots and we farmed in School of the Dark Arts. Music being a big part of my life, the OST is indeed top tier...I can confirm, at the time, switching from Mu Online to this game, the graphics were stunningly beautiful... And yes, I fought Raid bosses and it was hella fun! I've fought Baium and Antharas and hell, Antharas sure as hell took more than an hour with a hall full of people :X Good times!

I love how you went from defending yourself a little like "oklay, what is this" to really capture what the game was about, lineage 2 was a perfect mmo when ncsoft really cared, monthly sub, thousands of players, drama, world bosses, making friends, it really was a multiplayer online, you really shared a lot of time with the people you played with, THIS IS A GOD DAMN GOOD VIDEO, 16:55 is dion music, the most nostalgic song in the game, thanks for this video.

I remember playing WoW like crazy and then I jumped into Lineage 2. What really made me love it was the character and armor designs. In WoW everything looked so cartoony even though the CG cutscenes made everything look so real. It was that contrast that sort of ruined the suspension of disbelief for me, it is a personal thing as WoW is a great game. I jumped into Linage 2 and never went back. Koreans really love the Dark Elves. I remember the first time I played Kingdom Under Fire and the Dark Elves in that game......oh man so good

Thanks for taking me back to that journey of my past. I literally cried a lot of moments just while remembering the hyped world boss events like Antharas and Valakas. This was a great time and an even greater MMO. I feel sorry for everyone who couldn't experience that game. The cons you've mentioned are nothing compared to the contect you got and the possibilitys you had. You even had mounts which you could ride. In my opinion every mmo nowadays should look into this masterpiece of work.
    Thanks again!

Your experience could not differ more from the original 2004/5 Lineage 2 experience. I'm happy that you succeded on spoting the charming of it.
Back in the day, I played a hardcore Argentine private server with 6k online per day and blew my mind away. Since then, I sort of find myself in a never ending cycle in which I want to repeat that experience and bring back those memories. I have never ever been able to put so much of me in a character like I did when playing Lineage 2.
If you haven't wonder around Dion jaw dropping because of the amount of people trading, if you haven't run around pvping outside towns or cruma tower or IT, if you haven't play L2 soundtrack again and again, if you haven't pour your soul into your character, then my friend, you haven't experienced Lineage 2

It was my 1st mmorpg and even as a veteran mmorpg player, after so many years and so many other games it still remains my favorite. It's Golden Age was amazing indeed, i still remember fondly all the clan/alliance politics and drama, all the PvP/Castle sieges/ Wars over grind spots and bosses :D And ofc the friendships, I still know people IRL that i met back then. Sometimes i feel like installing it for the sake of nostalgia, but then i remember again how is nothing like it used to be (besides the P2W). So many feels and good memories tho.
[I remember when a friend of mine was new and got PKed by enemy clan. I went back and Pked them back and as i was geared i got chased half of map literally - sweating scared to die and drop my stuff- till my clan got to me help out.] One of the things i miss most about it these days is how PvP focused the game was, everyone knew...If you got Pked you call for help or wait months to get strong and get revenge..these days people complain when they get killed in a mmorpg, i honestly stopped trying to find an OWPvP mmorpg, which makes me even more nostalgic :D
I heard rumors about them working on Lineage Remastered for PC, but not sure how true it is. I would not have the same time to play as i used to, but would be cool.
