Wow that drummer is a really phenomenal player and the keyboardist kills it, too. Very impressive.
The keyboard player is the original member, Mike Lindup....so there's no one better for L42 than him.
The drummer isn't my cup of tea though. He would be great in Zappa's band or Mahavishnu or Snarky Puppy....but Phil Gould was the best. He put the funk down deep in a pocket and saved his busy chops for the solo.
Mark King is still an amazing bass player! one of the best singing bassists ever!

A lot of people don't realize how truly hard it is to sing and play bass at the same time. I'm convinced Mark King is a robot or an alien or some shit because his level of talent is almost inhuman.

I like Mark Kings slapping on this one because his slapping focuses on the basic rhythm and slapline from the original which is great! Too many bassists make a big deal out of the tripple. In my younger years I spent some half a year(!) to achive the technique but once youve got it you just throw it in sometimes. Floorcatcher in the 80 ies hehe

Amazing performance. Shame the video editors mostly forgot Mark existed, aside from a few short shots. With a bass line as dominating and intense as that one he deserved a lot more screen time.
