Best video I have seen on this so far, although 2 years old advice may have changed in current market. Would really appreciate anyone reaching out with experience in this - currently looking at parcel of land as a first time buyer with full
A self-build is a bit of a pipedream for me right now, but this information certainly helps to see what I need to be aware of should I ever push forward with it.
Yes, Self Build is my current front runner option. Once the old family home is sold, i intend to set my share of the equity i take from thwt as the budget for self build. I hadnt really thought about a mortgage. Thanks for the advice. Really clear and easy to follow 👍
Just started laying the foundation of turning my pipedream of owning some land + a self build into reality and this video has been immensely helpful. Much more so than my LISA provider who are supposedly the experts. Think I'll be coming to this guy instead from now on
Kind words. Thank you. Apologies for the delay responding. TH-cam has decided to now show me comments from 10-11 months ago. There are loads I never responded to. I apologise.
I think custom building a home is a dream for many. It feels out of reach for most, which is a shame and I understand why. Finding an empty plot of land is difficult so you have to visualise buying somewhere, knocking it down and rebuilding but that costs extra!
Great video, best I've seen on this so far, although 2 years ago so market for this may have changed. Would really appreciate anyone reaching out for some advice. - I am a first time buyer looking at a parcel of land with full planning granted however, I would need to borrow to both purchase the land and construct the property. First time buyer also. I have some experience in the UK housebuilding industry but have zero experience with mortgages loans etc. Keep right on Francis Bolter

Hello I am interested in buying a commercial property demolishing it to build a few terraced houses on the site. Is there a mortgage for build to rent also it will be my first time doing a development I do own other properties as a landlord ? Thank you
Thank you for your question. You can get development finance where the exit strategy is a buy to let mortgage, you'd have to time it well. You may struggle to get the finance if you're inexperienced but speak to a broker and they'll be able to help.
6:50 Pls define what is "a lot of money" for example I have £200k is this enuff? I knew a family who stayed in a Caravan on their land, whilst they built their own 4-bed detached lovely house in Cambs.
Hi there, thinking of getting a Self Build Mortgage quite soon. You've mentioned that sometime it doesn't work according to the method of construction. Is off-site volumetric timber frame will be suitable for that?

@@buytolet-landlords I was going to build on site, and build an outbuilding and demolish existing detached/bungalow build, and then rebuild it. Unfortunately plans did not materialize. It was a challenging task, but never materialized. The time was not right. No worries, and all the best.

Where are you building? If it's London or suchlike, no but if it's rural then potentially.
Lincolnshire or any surrounding county? @@buytolet-landlords
Great advice 👍
Thanks Jane.

You can, but not every lender is going to like this.
