You wanna get into LTL? What arw you waiting for?! GO DO IT! Remember: pay rates and position openings are different depending on area!
I work for Central Transport and on 3/22 I did 7 deliveries and 9 pickups. I also offload my own trailer as well as other trailers and load them for the linehaul drivers. Most days have been slower.
I have a buddy that works for them, they seem to always be pretty heavy on pickups! Keeps you working though!
dont go to Estes unless you want to drive a 20 year old truck they dont want to fix
Yep trucks are antique
I just got my hazmats and triple but I got to wait 7 weeks for tsa to clear my background check so my hazmats can be on my license. I’m looking everyday for a ltl company to join
I just got hired on with Old Dominion as a Combo driver. I’m so excited but so nervous to drive further distances and pulling doubles. I’ve only ever driven 300 miles round trip pulling a 53 foot trailer.
First week at Saia coming from Pepsi, been waiting on this for a the whole year while being at Pepsi. That year of experience was a pain tho
Yeah, I've heard some things about beverage delivery, those guys work hard. You'll have to let me know how it is at Saia
@@t1truckin absolutely, just subscribed! So far it’s been easy tho, 8 days city training and 2 days of line haul training. $150 every 6 months for uniforms and you could pick up line haul routes on Saturdays to pull in extra. Everybody is real chill.
I know the feeling at work for Coca Cola right now and working my way to get into LTL trucking
@@gershonwilliams8769 it’s worth it homie, get your experience and endorsements and dip.
I start at saia soon. How you liking it so far?
Just started with R & L 3 weeks ago. Already had one route with 21 stops that was intense but made my deadlines. Love the fast pace and the pay also helps!
21 is definitely on the very heavy end, I had that when I did an in town route. What city are you in?
Out of a newer terminal. Edinburgh, Indiana.
Nice, I'm definitely looking forward to our new terminal
how much are they charging for your pallet jack?
Right around $4,300 for a toyota. Paying $25 a week so should be done in less than 4 years.

Pulling doubles way better then pulling a van
Question, So what did you not like about PFG? I'm asking because i am leaving R&L linehaul for PFG linehaul. The main reason for leaving R&L is because I hate the wait time and not being paid for it. They say the 1st year will suck because you not having any seniority. The other night after waiting since 10pm I was told at 2am that they didn't have anything for me.
One food service driver is not going to like this video 😅😅
Why not? Lol
@@t1truckin I hope you know who I am referring too he lives in Florida.
Oh yeah I gotcha lol. I mean I've said it before, it all depends on what foodservice company and how their operations work, just didn't work for me
@@t1truckin glad you like a change of scenery I was otr before I came to Ltl. Loving every minute of it. With FedEx Freight Linehaul all I can say is Ltl has been good to me.
Linehaul guys make great money for sure!
I started off by doing ltl. I may try and go to FedEx Freight since they opened a terminal 10 min from my house, but they aren't hiring yet because there's barely any freight
Good luck FedEx is having freight issue all over the 48 states. All trucking companies are slow right now but FedEx for sure.
We aren't slow lol. We have more freight than we can handle most days
@@t1truckin that’s goods. I would love to flip sides I hear good things about RL but the pay is low. I make $2000 a week easily driving team 2500k miles each total of 5049 miles in 5 days and two home. If I wanted I could do 6200 miles a week and bring home $2600 in 5 days but that’s too much sometimes 6 days to make that. So I do only 5000k a week split so that I make sure i get 2 days home.
How are the deliveries done? Do you have count like lose items make sure everything is there or everything is packed in boxes you just scan and make site is for the right costumer?
12 15 stops not bad for jus dropping with Pallet jacks Food u could have 12 14 stops 800 900 cases
How was your interview process was? Did you know after the interview that you got the job?
That’s what I want to do LtL just have to get my doubles and triple endorsement
For sure! They are easy! Download the CDL Test Prep 2024 app and you'll nail the writtens!
Ive found ltl is much more work and stress for the same or less pay than otr. If you need to be home every night then I guess but even then, get into fuel delivery instead. Like 5 stops a day and hazmat will always pay more.
Yes fuel delivery then a stupid idiot hit you in the back in the road and you done bye bye just for 2000a week put in risk your live? Fuck nooooii
More stress? You must not be a good backer.
@@YADAMNDADDY yes more stress when you doing 15-20 stops a day unloading everything yourself running your ass off working 12s everyday for shit pay. In order for LTL to pay the same as I was making over the road it would have to be like $35 an hour you'll never find that LTL
@crzzymnn911 i started at a big LTl company at the beginning of the year. Im a new driver. I came to the company with my cdl with no driving experience(so yes, they're taking it somewhat easy on me). i worked the dork an yard jockey for a couple months. And backing is pretty easy. If i see on the gps satellite that it may be difficult getting in, i call the customer & ask them if 53 footers can get in. The companies i go to unload their own stuff and load their own stuff. Right now, if im really in the flow, i can do bout 13 stops, but i only been doing it for a couple weeks.i think everybody should yard jockey for a couple months it makes a world of difference.
It is stressful you are doing three jobs for one small pay ltl is a below average salary in my opinion but being home daily is good
I use to do ltl linehaul. Have applied 3 times to R&L here..10+ yrs of doubles, all endorsements, 2 million accident free miles and each time they deny me lol Go figure 😂😂
That's odd they are denying you, either they fill the position before they get you app or just hoarding applications lol
You got too many tickets and you hop from job to job no employers like that especially in trucking.
@@TheTruelakersfan LOL +5 mvr and had the same job for 5 yrs is job hopping?? 🤣
Bro I can relate! They kept denying my app. It stayed in under consideration status. I just went up there to a termination & displayed my credentials & I got hired. Try just going up there
@@Handyman123100 They accepted my application finally. Doing linehaul currently.
