Just crazy good. As a percussion guy, this is a dream come true. You guys have nailed this. I think I could create a track of nothing but drums!!! 🔥 total 🔥
Sat at my computer trying to convince myself I already have plenty of drums, but its like the meme of the bloke walking with his girlfriend looking over his shoulder at another woman.
I work a lot in horror, and this library is something special. The strings particulary excite me and processing them in the library with the other sounds is just something I'll get lost with. Excited to give this a go and to see what more are in store for it in the future. Exciting!
Seeing (and HEARING) this new Concussion library underscores the sense that Spitfire really lost out when they sent you packing. These new Crow Hill products are simply well beyond... seemingly redefining sample library design in a completely new direction! I'm completely amazed and blown away! Cheers to you, Christian and to all of you at TCHC!!
i reckon spitfire might downsize or look for different audience since the departure of christian, he was the face of the company did all the marketing... paul behind the scenes, chtistian in front
Spitfire have not had a penny from me since that debacle, and I would regularly buy pretty much everything they were putting out, and I do think that the company lost it's way after CH departure, its output seemingly becoming issue after issue of lacklustre string libraries. The Crow Hill stuff on the other hand, seems to be marching forward with increasingly exciting, fresh releases. These two patterns must be related. Love the sound of this library, and the passion involved in creating it. Great stuff everyone.
@@Dave.Weiss.I also think that their generosity left with Christian Henson. A great example is the BBCso piano. It should have just been a straight upgrade for each of the versions. But instead they used it as a new cash grab.
Ah, this is so, so good! I’m a totally amateur (not very accomplished) synth music hobbyist with a penchant for big drum sounds, and this has filled a gap for me. I’ve just spent a few hours making a bunch of Taiko drum tracks, and I’m feeling very satisfied with the sounds rattling around my studio. What a great resource this is! 😁
Recently been looking for a new drum library after realising I lack cinematic drums in my arsenal and in need of them for a project. This came up at THE perfect time at such an affordable price for a library of this scale. I love it and has already become my go-to after purchasing a few hours ago. Just what I needed, thank you Christian and Crow Hill Team for this WEAPON! Cheers, Louie
I don't know anything about percussion nor drums - they terrify me, but walkthroughs like this make me feel like I can do this too. The UI from non-percussion person's perspective makes sense! Can't even fathom what is involved in making software like this. Great job, team!
This is such a great library. Always spend so much time with scores I do baking in the effect , bouncing and processing other perc libraries just to get the sound in my head. PS. been doing that string as a percussive instrument recently for a project (I'm trying to make the action/suspense scene not rely on that stacc strings hollywood vibe, with less melodies), Im so amazed such thing was added into this
Congrats to the engineers that created such a flexible and very well thought out software that will certainly be the foundation to many more libraries to come. Simply amazing. 👍👍👍
sounds awesome! the amount of content and options to tweak everything is insane! one thing i seemed to miss in the walkthrough: does it have round robins and multiple dynamic layers for each drum articulation?
Was going to get that Tommee Profitt drum library but this is what I’m looking for. Glad you guys are getting to do what you want. Every instrument you’ve put out so far has felt individually its own ethos rather than a corporate cookie cutter variant.
This is just deliriously good. As a side note, one of the key reasons for why I used to love Ensoniq gear back in the late '80s, early '90s was because they had dedicated switches you could map for things like reversing, inverting, or otherwise manipulating samples without having to step out of your flow to do it. And you wonderful people have pretty well brought that back for the modern world. I cannot thank you enough.
@@TheCrowHillCo Ah, nice! Very stylish gear. I was always fond of the "structural" sound of the EPS 16+. All unsung heroes of industrial and EBM acts back then. And let's not forget about the unusually beefy for it's time VFX.
Sounds grand! And indeed the kind of thing that could encourage new sounds and who knows, maybe even genres to come out of it as more people use and share ideas 😎
Had a chance to mess around with it just a little bit today. I love love love being able to easily map things out on the keyboard. I started to build a little kit and being able to be able to treat everything as a "quadruple kick" pedal if I want to is kind of cool. That slight pitch shift spread across the notes sounds so great.🎉
Not a filmscore producer in the slightest but this thing is a MONSTER. What is this thing you created?! You guys are breaking boundaries of music making! What an absolute monster of a plugin. Great job! the greatest of jobs! Absolutely fantastic to witness! 😁
Please host more contests people using your new libraries! I know it’s a TON of work to judge them and people can be pissy when they don’t like the winner…… but it’s just so cool to see what people come up with.
Astounding!! This really fills a blank slot previously unfilled!! Bravo guys n gals! What an epically useable toy playground - because ... as you will know... If you are passionate about making music.... you never really have to grow up!!😅😂
Very cool - congrats to all involved. The triggers. Can you adjust the wet/dry mix - if appropraite (eg the amount/level of the distortion) - or are they on/off triggers? Thanks.
Great sounds! I understand this is aimed at Christian to play drums on a midi-keyboard using his elbows, but I downloaded the manual to see if there was any mention of midi drum input, since playing e-drum kits is one of my use cases. Maybe I missed something, or that may be a future thing to do. Anyway, I loved the distressed legal ruled notepad background of your manual's pdf.
Did you say that you can import sounds…. the effects live processing section is bonkers … it’s already got a groove box vibe, just gotta hook it up to arpeggiator and sequencer . Extensive stuff.
This sounds like a true percussion playground. Looks like a hell of a lot of fun to be sure. I look forward to trying it out-not for trailers but for EDM stuff. On a complete side note, why is it that almost all trailers seem to want to slam us with these massive drum hits, endlessly bombarding us, the audience, with all of that gut punching, ear deafening drum stuff-even for films where it really doesn't fit at all? Please, all of you guys out there making trailer music, please tone it down a little or somehow convince the producers to let you pull it back a bit. When every trailer sounds the same with same, hyped-up percussion barrage, it looses it's impact and, for some of us like me, actually turns us off.
Sorry for an unrelated comment but was wondering if there's ever going to be a live stream showcasing the last composer challenge? I don't see it on TH-cam anywhere and I believe one was going to be made? Thanks.
@@TheCrowHillCo Thanks for that, much appreciated and sorry for the confusion. It had said on your website that the compositions would be played on a live stream so I was looking out for one of those. Was just wondering though was everybody who sent in a composition meant to receive some Crowhill merchandise or is that wrong on the website? Thank you.
It’s all about putting a team together and letting their creative impulses flourish. Not treating them like absolute cxxts also helps. Something the music and music tech industry doesn’t have a particularly good record on I’m afraid.
