- Who will win Semi-Final 1 of Eurovision 2016? As of March 19, Croatia's Nina Kraljic led our poll, followed by Russia's Sergey Lazarev, Armenia's Iveta Mukuchyan, Malta's Ira Losco and Iceland's Greta Salome. We say who we think SHOULD win and who WILL win.

I remember when I first heard Nina sing. It was by accident, and she was on tv in the background while I was playing a game of dice. When I heard that sound, everything stopped. I froze, had goosebumps all over. By the end of the song I was sobbing. She is something else. You feel like she is real, genuine, honest. You feel her when she sings. She will absolutely outshine anyone in a live performance. The style may not be everyone's cup of tea, but after hearing her live, you won't be able to deny her brilliance. You can still not prefer the song, but you will become a Nina fan.

I'm really don't understand why there is so much hype about Russia. it's not the worst song in the competition but it's really dated and there's nothing original about it. as to who I would want to qualify I would say the Netherlands.

Countries I want to see in Final (in order of personal preference): Croatia, Netherlands, Malta, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, Iceland, Armenia, Russia & Hungary. All of these songs are in my Top 20 and as we all know, Russia will never miss a final, period.
Countries that I see for sure in final: Russia, Netherlands, Iceland, Malta, Cyprus, Croatia, Hungary, Armenia, Greece & Finland. Based on what we've seen in previous years, the HORRIFIC song from Greece is likely going to the final, that diaspora vote NEVER FAILS THEM!

AustrianEurovision I hope they make it. But I don't know, having Greece in that Semi make feel a bit afraid that they'll make it instead.

D Devo Spain has an automatic trip to the finals. Sweden (2015 winner) and the Big 5 France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom are automatic qualifiers. This ranking is purely for the 1st semi-final. :-)

It all depends from the live preformance, and the staging. Anything can change.
+MrDado999 Exactly. The live preformance is especially important to to the second half of the qualifiers. If Estonia or Azerbajian manage to bring out a lackluster performance, It's likely that they might be thrown out in favour of Czech Republic or Cyprus. You just never know with Eurovision.
I really want Iceland to win the 1st Semi, but I think that Russia will win. Which is fine, because it's my second favourite anyway :) I also really want Malta, Croatia, and Hungary to qualify!

My favourite for this semi is also Croatia closely followed by Iceland. I think the chorus part where she just goes "a liiiighthouse" is much weaker than what comes before that. Listen to the part that starts around 1:41 in the song, her voice! Stunning. Croatia should win, they're my number 2 overall. So who should win? Croatia. And second place for Iceland.
Who will win? Everybody says Russia, but I think and hope there's gonna be surprise.
I'm not much a fan of Malta even though I agree they are putting lots of effort into eurovision and I appreciate their work and they have a good song! It's just not for me, but I would still be happy seeing their effort pay off :)

I don't know if Russia wins the semi final... I think they do it on televoting but i think the juries put them down (6th place +/-). So Croatia stays in 2nd in televoting and wins the juries. Croatia wins the semi final 1. And they deserve it, obviously. I love her voice and she's going to do well!

WOW....Walking On Water is a sure winner for Malta! a number of good songs indeed this year,however with my experience in the music industry I admit that the majority opinion is perfectly right! Malta deserves to win ESC2016 no doubt about it.
In my perspective, RUSSIA 🇷🇺 should win and WILL win as well!! Russia all the way!! Hands down 🙌🏼🙌🏼 Some people might not know Sergey Lazarev, but he's extremely talented and this is his time to shine and impress the rest of the world with his talent. Some people who are not fans, will want to vote for him for his appearance , (which I don't blame them 😅), but he's much more than that. He's really talented . He sings beautifully live as well. He's one of the few artists who can dance and sing at the same time who doesn't use playback and still doesn't lose his breath. Not many singers nowadays can do that. And that's something to admire. For people who talk bad about him or think he has it easy because girls like him for his appearance, I urge you not to judge him if you don't know him. I'm pretty sure, he'll shut many people's mouths while he's on stage performing live. #SergeyLazarevYouAreTheOnlyOne

Armenia should win, Iceland or Malta will
I really don't like Greta's song at all. I can't hear the melody (or rather, I can;t hear the voices calling). The only thing I like about it is the staging and special effects. However, most people seem like big fans of Iceland 2016, so she's probably going through to the final.
From the 42 songs that are out so far, my number 1 is Cyprus, my number 2 is Czech Republic, my number 3 is Switzerland and my number 4 is Austria.
3 of my top 4 are in this semi-final so I am definitely rooting for them. So, go Cyprus, Czech Republic and Austria!
Russia has such a fun song, and I really love it. However, it will most likely not win, I feel like it's missing something.
