I had planned to do a separate video of Bella feeding #1. I decided to move on and to use a photo of Bella & #1 as a preview for this video instead... Thanks for watching
Yes it was a sad day but on the bright side. The remaining egg pipped today and if everything goes well #2 should hatch tomorrow (4/11). Hopefully Bella will be there to take control and things work out. 🤞
I watched up until Bella did a feeding about 6:00pm & have been working on this video. This is kind of her fault... She should have introduced him to the chick. But She was used to Smitty. This is the same thing that happened at the Leucistic RTH nest. Her new mate didn't understand either. I kept wondering if this would happen.
Now we have learned that a first time parent needs to learn that an egg will hatch to be an offspring. However, Bella doesn't know her mate is a first time parent.
He killed the baby eaglet?! How did he do that? That's awful. She spent time just to have a baby eaglet. Bad enough that there two eaglets that died already. One died when it was hatching and other died after it got injured and it was already a few months old. It makes me sad that eaglets are dying and not having a chance to live their full potential.
This young male is Bella's new mate & his first nesting season. He was very confused & you can see that in my video. Bella did a feeding, left the nest & her eaglet unattended. Not everything is controlled /accomplished by instinct. These young males have to learn and that's done through the females. By their actions... feeding, nurturing & protecting the offspring. Still there's no guarantees... accidents & death will still happen even through siblicide & starvation. For any bird just to hatch... is a very complex procedure.
@@uwohaliproductions5624I thought I saw a pip as well. Bella has been really digging deeper into the bowl and looking down and listening to the eggie. Nail biting for sure 🙏🥚🦅🐣

I’m so very sorry that eaglets didn’t survive. He’s a young dad, but it’s still heartbreaking.
It's a shame how things went.
So sad that this happened. Hopefully there will be another chance and the eaglet will survive and thrive for them.
There's a good chance for the last egg to hatch by 4/11 - 4/12
😢

Oh dear 😢 this does not end well 😭💔 New (young) mate didn’t understand what it was…

@@uwohaliproductions5624I saw the male red tail 😭 Bird watching is not for the faint of heart 💔 I wonder how Bellas second egg will do 🙏🏼
I got mixed thoughts now... might be for the best if it doesn't hatch. If it does all we can do is hope for the best.
@@uwohaliproductions5624 True. 🙏🏼

What happened to the other egg?
I saw a possible pip today, it could hatch tomorrow (4-11). Nobody is operating the cam to zoom in to verify it.

They zoomed in at 7:00pm. I was able to verify a pip... should see #2 tomorrow.
Ok, ty
You're welcome
How it croak ?
Unfortunately the male killed and ate it
Oh no! :(
It's a shame but that's how some young males have to learn.

Well... yes by definition only. This is their world & how it will always be. There is no right or wrong.
