Gununa, Mornington Island - This Place

Johnny Williams and Karen Chong are traditional owners from Gununa, Mornington Island. The community on the island respect the land and its history, and in turn, the land and sea provide for them. Those who live on Mornington Island make their own tools which enable them to live off the land and the sea.
The 'This Place' project invites Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to create a short video about a place name, and the story behind it.

Watching all these videos makes me want to go back there and meet some of my family who I havnt met yet. Went there when I was 8yrs old now im 32. Didn't want to leave when I did was so much fun as a kid.
