The way I viewed it I don't think she "chose" the Jinx chair. I think she decided that killing her father, again, just showed that she is a Jinx and there is really no choice in the matter. So she just gave up and sat down in it....owned it. Not that she chose it. She gave up on redemption, which is why she just walks out on her sister.

if you understand the Vander/ Silco Sciene totaly, you would konw that Silco did not give Jinx up. Jinx just got scared to be left alone again. even it is Silco, Silco is someone.

Cause, either it did or Jayce jumped the gun or Silco gave a false agreement. Or... maybe he was preparing the council should Silco follow through, I don't know how council procedures work, so maybe I got ahead of myself. Either way we don't know cause it wasn't shown, they left there meeting place to decide.
I think the trend of naivety among the scientists and council rears its head again a bit here. Jayce got a list of demands from Silco, they jumped the shark a bit on claiming they brokered a peace. It wasn't finalized on either side. Silco hadn't agreed to Jayce's end of the bargain. Jayce essentially walked off with the list of demands, decided to agree on it, and assumed his demands for Jinx will be met. Silco either knew the weapon was done or close enough that when Jinx comes back it would be ready. "They can all burn" ; I think had Jinx not gone through with the mad tea party in the end, Silco would have had her use the weapon. Silco would have far more rather use fear than "play lapdog" for independence. At least that's how it's felt to me.
