8 year US Army Vet and at 49 this pumps me up and and blows the rust off this Warrior's heart! Makes me motivated to go out and do 300 pushups and a 20 mile hump!

Thank you to all who serve! My father was in the U.S. Army. A very good friend of mine was in the U.S. Marines. A very good co-worker of mine was in the U.S. Navy. I myself applied for the U.S. Coast guard but they rejected me because of my eyes / I can't see well enough. But I've always had the greatest respect for those who serve and they have my full support (as long as they support the U.S. haha). Thank you again!

@@shawndowns2487 Thank you for that. I work in U.S. taxes nowadays. I've been told that in some ways I, too, have served our country by preparing taxes and stopping tax fraud before it happens. A veteran in World of Tanks once told me how much a missile costs and I thought about it and I said, "You know, because of my tax expertise I'm making sure that your friends back home don't have to pay as much for the cost of your equipment."

Been a decade, I still resent being discharged for my inability to handle adapting to high temperatures for prolonged periods. These songs.... I've family in the services, Grandfather in the Army Air Corps in WW2, other in Army doing EOD in Korea and Nam, Great Uncle in Marines (artillery loader) cousins in Army (infantry)several friends in Navy (stationed on carrier) (Seal Teams) (Submariners) ect... these songs always get me right in the feels.

The biggest part of these songs is the history behind them, so its like trying to write a song about a legendary warrior who was born earlier this week. He needs a little time to establish himself, right?

It's great that the four DOD branches got a song; The oldest continuous sea going service is still waiting for ours. You know, the branch that for a time was the ONLY branch fighting the Quasi War with France at sea because the navy was disbanded. Then called the Revenue Cutter Service, it had the Lifesaving Service and other government agencies rolled into it and renamed in 1915 the U.S Coast Guard. It's the fourth branch of the military, tracing it's roots to 1790 and has been in every major conflict since then. USCG boats were the first into Panama's harbors and first into Kuwait's harbors; in both instances the navy followed Coastie boats into the harbors. A great multi-role branch, with a long history (longer than the air force) and yet, still no song.
