The Great Gatsby is deceiving. It isn't what you think when you begin reading it, and it is unique in its compact story- telling. It is an interesting well written little classic.
Such great choices for this month. I read Moby Dick for a book club and WOW, it was such a slog. So many off-topic tangents, and those tangents are many pages long.
I read The Great Gatsby years ago and remember really enjoying it. ❤📚 I heve The Eyre Affair on my shelves gathering dust as well. 😅 I hope you have a wonderful reading month. This month has lots of unforseen things going on, but I hope to read Kindred by Octavia E. Butler.
@@starlasell5698 Good to hear you enjoyed it. I don’t know how I forgot The Eyre Affair on my shelf but I remember being really intrigued at the time. It is definitely a short month so I hope you have time to enjoy Kindred. I’ve never read any Octavia E Butler but I’ve heard the name.
@MyMessyBookshelf Thank you, and yes, short month. This will also be my first Octavia E. Butler book. I'm reading it for Black Awareness Month as a buddy read with my sister.
The Eyre Affair is great. It’s the first book in a series. It does give spoilers to Jane Eyre. But I read the Eyre Affair before I read Jane Eyre and it didn’t confuse me at all. Thursday Next is a fun series!
@@ArtBookshelfOdyssey oooh I am looking forward to it. Fortunately I have read Jane Eyre a couple times and loved it so at least it won’t get spoiled for me.
@@colonelmustardinthelibrary I have never seen a copy of Martin Chuzzlewit in print in person. Hopefully it doesn’t ruin the experience for me with this book.

@@juliehughes1258 Thank you. This go around with Moby Dick seems to be much different for me so I’m hoping I get through it.

The Eyre Affair has been on my TBR for a couple of years but someone said I should read Martin Chuzzlewit and Jane Eyre first. I need to get on that.
