Quiet Luxury is what I gravitate toward and has been my style forever-it’s classic, subtle, and sophisticated. For someone who despises wearing and carrying logos but still loves quality pieces, QL is where it’s at! 👏
Bags are cute, but for me I'd rather put $ into house and memories/vacay. Sell some purses and that backyard will get done the way you want so quickly lol
RE: Margot 10 and 17, while I like the color and pebble leather, I don't like its function, I require a zip/protective closure to all my bags and will not use an open top regardless of brand.
I LOVE zaalouk! I prepare it similarly except I roast the tomatoes along with the eggplant to really give it the delicious smokey flavor. YUM! I do advice you to place the eggplant skin side up when roasting. Then I pretty much do the same as you in the pan after scooping the flesh of the eggplant and mashing it - sautee it all in the pan. I use a good quality Spanish smokey paprika to keep that smokey flavor with the veggies. OH boy I will have to make some tonight - love it!!!! :) xoxo
I worked as a designer for a firm in Houston. When we used the term classic with under 45 year olds, they freak out. They think you are describing Grandma’s house. Quiet luxury feels better to them.
Agreed. Most of us have used this “quiet luxury” as a lifestyle and drawn to kindred spirits. I cannot see wearing head to toe logos lol. I hope Valentina goes with what works best but for me, I think the Row et al borrow designs and quality leather from brands like Coach circa 1990s. What goes around comes back around it seems. Grateful I can shop in my closet.
@@channahnoyb4803 I totally agree with you. I’m in Houston so that might be a local thing with younger people. Terms come and go. It’s definitely about personal perception.
Cool! 😃 I would love to see more of your home, maybe when you style it or how fun would it be to see a decluttering video! It’s always so nice to see the process. Thanks for great content! 🤗
I take as carryon but bring dust bag to place under the seat … this goes for my Goyard GM or keep all 45, all I take as my personal item and place Under seat inside a dust bag that I use as as I get to my seat
Living in Europe for nearly 32 years, I don’t own more than a handful of designer items. I always say you can only wear one outfit at a time, one perfume at a time… I guess my focus is more of good skin care, whole foods, a sustainable low maintenance garden now (wasn’t always the case!😝) and vacations… that’s just my personal preference. I love your videos- it’s fun to live vicariously thru your purchases!
Hello Valentina! Love your hair with the curls!!!! Adds a bounce to your step. I go to Drybar once a week and love getting my hair done similarly - and it does last a good 4 days. The other days, I do my best with the Dyson airwrap - which by the way I really really recommend if you haven't tried it. I also use it on the days I need to 'refresh' my professionally done hair the days following. Love The Margaux and the color! To be honest, the bigger one looks a little too big next to your petite frame as an everyday errand bag - but the small one is just perfect!!!! I will be keeping an eye out for one myself too! I have been a fan of Loewe bags for a few years now and own a couple. To me, they also fall into that 'quiet luxury' category. I get compliments a lot when carrying the Loewe Heritage Bag, and now thinking and watching the bags you are showing us - it has a very similar style as the Margaux and the Prada! xoxo Cheers V ~ from Los Angeles! xoxo
I love the dark taupe color but it is too large for my taste. I vote for the smaller purse!! I guess it depends on your life style and how much stuff you need to carry around!!
I've been using Seint makeup. I'm loving it. Been using it for about9 months. I'm 47 and I think it looks great on mature skin. Love to see what you think of it. There's a bit of a learning curve but man has it been a space saver for me and get rid of crap I'm not using. Was the perfect makeup for my trip to Paris.
I like the 10, but to me, no bag is worth what those cost. As much as I can appreciate its beauty, I can't handle the price. That just wouldn't be how I'd spend my money, unless I had an endless amount. Then, who knows?
Yes. TJ Maxx is a good place to buy designer bags for less, and to compare them to less expensive bags. I often prefer the functional features on the less expensive bags.
I agree. I have a collection of designer bags that I purchased when I was younger that I seldom use any more. The luxury goods prices have increased so dramatically since 2020 it’s just ridiculous. There are brands like Demellier, Polene, Aspinal & Strathbury that are just as well made and don’t cost a fortune. I’d rather than have $5k in the bank than dangling on my arm. But, that’s just me. Everyone is free to spend their money however they wish.
Hi favorite. I loved this video. There are so many gems in it. I have never tried eggplant, but if Valentina says it's good, it's good. I treated myself to Chanel makeup and perfume for Christmas. There's no turning back now.
I never cared for eggplant until I tried it roasted and mixed with other foods. Last weekend was baba ganoush. This weekend I'll try your zaalouk! It looks amazing. Have you tried the Ripple half and half? Great cream replacement in soups and chowders. Not crazy about large bags. Was always a Coach girl until they started going crazy with their logos.
I like the mini song bag and he color is nice. the other bags, for me, i just can't spend that much on a handbag. happy you have options. thanks. you seem so happy, love your videos.
Valentina, I had a large bag similar to the row bag in shape and also did not zip closed on top, but had magentic snaps. I was so disenchanted with the bag that I ended up giving it away. Here were the reasons why : I work in downtown LA and you can't carry around anything that doesn't close on top 2) It was very heavy 3) The bottom of it stuck out so much from my body that people would bump into me all the time because I was too "wide."😅
I'm with the I don't get it group, that bag is luggage. Might be a great carry on. But not for going shopping. That would hurt my back schlepping that around. Also I need my hands free.
The Row bags colour is beautiful, and l agree Valentina, Chanel foundation is sensational. L also love Chanel handcream. It's definitely quiet luxury. 😊
@houseofvalentinaliving so...I always buy eggplants from Trader Joe's and they rott at the bottom of my fridge. This recipe is amazing!!!!!!!!❤❤❤ I loved it and my kids actually liked it too 😊 thank you!!! Now I know how to use up eggplants 🍆 🍆
I’m amazed you look great for your age! I used to work at a Chanel counter. We always used to have consultants that would help you pick colors if you wish to show you their color palettes. Ask them next time! I love the coach bag most but your call. I have noticed bigger bags are showing this spring. RH has the best furniture. I have a few pieces. Everyone picks them out and asks about the RH furniture pieces. So classic. Thanks for your new content. ❤
Absolutely keep all the bags, Prada bags last forever. That pebble leather and stitching is fabulous. Colors are perfect, goes with everything. Love the recipe! I add 4 cloves of garlic to mine! 🤩
Absolutely adore the smaller bag!! Very elegant 🥰 Would love to know the other colors it comes in. The larger one seems too big for your for body type. The 15 might work?
We are having a charcuterie for dinner tonight, and I’m in the process of roasting the eggplant right this very minute! Can’t wait….it’s smelling really good!
Hi V, I can't stand the term 'quiet luxury', it's literally just a fancy pants term for classic 😁. The '17' bag you showed I would use as a weekend overnight bag or to put my bowling balls in 😂😂. Your hair looks beautiful, the curls are so cute x
I disagree. To me quite luxury differs from classic. Quite luxury can be classic, but has improved quality over just a classic item. T shirt? Classic! T shirt with organic cotton, made in the USA, and high quality seams? Quite luxury. Also, things that are very gilded and flashy can be classic within their context. Gilded lavish items are not quiet despite being classic within their own motif. I hope this helps see why people have started to articulate things as quite luxury!
I do love Chanel. I have several of their blushes, but I really love Westman Atelier. I just purchased her eyeliner. I really love that as well. I love her blush, I struggle with her eyebrow product. I also just bought her new lipstick. So so beautiful on! And I also use her foundation. So I guess, I’m kind of a huge fan. I’ve tried it all. Your hair was stunning today!
The Margo small bag is beautiful but there is no closure at the top. As I’ve gotten older I get more picky. And for 4-5k it should at least have a magnetic catch instead of a buckle which is a pain to do and undo.
I like the Prada bag better. Like the leather. Could never afford it, but.....I would pick that. Guess I should say, yes I can afford it, BUT...a few bills would suffer. Lol.
the bag - The Margaux - I agree it looks stunning...but it doesn't have a closure that is easy to close for the bag's main opening. Nope! But she is lovely! Those inside pockets - I usually put my wallet in a zippered pocket, and my phone in a smaller one (so I know where it is!!!) By the way, I too have the Hourglass face palette - mine is for fair, but I used the "select your case' option, and mine has an owl it. I agree - the formula is amazing...the fair has 1 highlighter and a finishing powder.
Hey Valentina! Prada is stunning but from all the research I have done on resale sites and watching a lotttt of TH-cam, Prada for some weird reason does not hold its value compared to a lot of designer brands. The Row is different, holds the value well. But if you love the Prada, go for it! Personally, my fave is the large Margot, it is absolutely unbelievable! The shape is so satisfying! Thanks for this beautiful video!
@paintedbyspencer Has amazing makeup looks for the Quiet Luxury trend and market. Very old Hollywood also gorgeous but refined and simple for all skin types, ages, skin tones and etc. Just thought I would share 😊
I can’t carry a bag that weighs more than its contents. I have several leather bags but they’re not in my rotation for the simple fact they’re too heavy. I go with cloth. It’s light and washable and more malleable than leather when it comes to stuffing it anywhere. 🤷♀️
Living in Europe for close to 15 years gave deep appreciation of having fewer great core pieces and taking fabulous care of them.
That bag looks great for a weekender. Too big for everyday. Pretty!
Quiet Luxury is what I gravitate toward and has been my style forever-it’s classic, subtle, and sophisticated. For someone who despises wearing and carrying logos but still loves quality pieces, QL is where it’s at! 👏
That’s awesome to hear.
Bags are cute, but for me I'd rather put $ into house and memories/vacay. Sell some purses and that backyard will get done the way you want so quickly lol
So true.
RE: Margot 10 and 17, while I like the color and pebble leather, I don't like its function, I require a zip/protective closure to all my bags and will not use an open top regardless of brand.
Yes, open top makes it a pain and impractical. It becomes a tote bag and not safe if you're setting it down somewhere

The Row’s bag is the equivalent of basics killing each other over that limited edition Target Stanley tumbler 🤣
"Quiet Luxury" or "Stealth Wealth" are not trends and the labels are deceiving. To me it is a lifestyle that is classic.
That’s so true!

That’s so interesting. I’m under 45 and dislike the quiet luxury label. Much prefer classic which transcends age, trends, and time.
@@channahnoyb4803 I totally agree with you. I’m in Houston so that might be a local thing with younger people. Terms come and go. It’s definitely about personal perception.
