Thanks for your video. I am a novice trying to buy and polish opals. They are beautiful finished. The mining is very dangerous. Educational videos like this are brilliant. Thank you。 greetings from Dublin Ireland
I want a be an opal miner and this video really helped me learn a lot about the opal formation and what levels to look for it in. Thank you guys for making this video happen
@lovelightopals6867 I live in Queensland and am looking at going to lightning ridge to fossick for opals In March 2025 If you would like a helper to work with you.
Thank you! This was an informative and educational video not often seen regarding opals. I appreciated the info which can only be learned 'first-hand' from actual time on the job.
Thank you very much for the video. Yours has been very educational when did to a lot of detail which most people do not. And a lot of it was Hands-On from start to finish. Can't wait till the next video
Really interesting vid. Was great seeing where the opals come from and the way they form in certain rocks. Had no idea what an opal mine looked like until today. Great vid :)
Great video mate, good to see Richard and Paul,I have been out with them a few times over the years,😃👍👍👍from Harry Mee up in Cairns.I still have the opal fever.👍
Dam I'd love 1 of them diggers but I'll have to stick to the jackhammers till we strike it rich, we could move around 6- 7 tonne by hand a day, don't need no gym ,jackhammer shovel into wheelbarrow, hoist , cool vid mate.
Very, very cool! You made a great informative video. Those miners seem like great men. Can you post the website to their shop? I’d love to check out some of their rough. They really know their stuff.
What is the name of their mine? What area of lightning ridge are they in? I understand we don't know if they have a website but I'd love to do the research myself just need a little help

Yeah, millions of billions and Billions years ago. Took that long to form. I was a baby then. Couldn’t of happened over thousands of years. No, billions.

Do you ever look at the columns you leave behind to hold up the overburden and wonder if that’s where your big score is hiding?😬
Personally I can't answer that but I'm sure they do....risk v reward ✌🏼🙂
I spit my coffee all over my keyboard at 20:45!

The Red Clay indicates good drainage. Hope that helps :)

I know the miners get underground through a hole or shaft but how the hell do they get that big ass machinery underground
I'm not completely sure but I think they disassemble it take it down in pieces then reassemble.
Australian man narrator of the mine tour must be a very very good worker because his English accent is very very thick.
Does anyone there know Carl Babic????
awesome!
Thats Way Cool
I'd like to come there to work. Then get my own claim.
I hope Richard N Paul have Facebook or Instagram page ?????
