I got say... you boys living the life.. hard, yes but hell boys where else on the planet do you get to post up and have a camp out like that! You both are truly blessed... I cook my ass off everyday in a kitchen in Olympia Washington.. an would trade a week in the bush with you blokes any day of the week! Love your adventures and hope to see many more. Truly hope you two knuckle head's read these lol, cause if I ever get a chance to go to your beautiful, deadly, awesome, country... I'm hunting one of yo down to run a shovel or something... idc! I want to dig and see firsthand my most favorite gemstone in the world firsthand! ❤❤❤
being an opal miner for the past 5 years I can tell you this one inescapable fact Until it is sold it is worth nothing, it's just a pretty rock sitting around, Some stones I've been holding on to for years because no-one wants to pay what they are worth, others I've had to sell at a lower price just to keep things going. I've recently switched over to gold and have never had a problem getting rid of it the second I find it I know it's cash in my hand.
I hear ya bud . I did a couple of stints at the ridge and found that price of opal can be very subjective which in turn makes it much harder to sell and get what you believe to be it’s true value . Unless you hold a special stone folks it can be difficult .😐
THAT'S JUST PLAIN WRONG FOLKS... I'VE CUT OPAL/GEMS BEFORE AND THAT WAS EASILY 200,000 DOLLARS!!!! AND WHO KNOWS HOW MUCH GRANNY HID UNDER THE MATTRESS???
Rod looked happy, but Rod you should have got a bit more cos I saw the stars on each plate and I reckon it was worth more than they said. I just want the best for you matey you are a fair dinkum bloke. 👍 Dave From GB 🇬🇧
That ol lady was a con artist ,you find it they make you come back after they cut it and whatever else, and give you only 20% hmmm that's like if both of you guys were mining gold for a month and one of you left the mine to go to town for supplys but at the last minit decided to take your bag of gold in and cash it in then came back and told your partner here's your half of our bag of gold I decided to cash it in ,😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 not being present while the opal was being worked on is a big mistake when it's worth that much you guys probably didn't even get a look at the King stone 😮😮😮😮 that's just dirty grimey tactics by those old geezers 😢😢😢😢😢😢
Just watched the whole season 2 and it does not dissapoint Rod is an absolute legend of a gentleman JC is ao lucky to have him as his mentor 😊 I need tickle me grandmother as my next ring tone 😅 all the best please make a season 3 🙏 xx
Safety glasses...... It don't matter how tough you think you are, it only takes 1 mistake without them and your life is changed forever. No joking Very serious deal
That is what i was thinking the whole time. No experience here whatsoever, just a mom cringing and unable to watch using a blade with no eye protection 😬😳
To be honest, that's nothing more than trace: no buyer is going to pay $20,000.00 for a big specimen. I was in the game when Hammonds Mine was worked: it produced millions of dollars of top gem grade....that stuff is just trace from the wrong sìde of a fault...
You can't cut your self on those kinds of saws 😅 part of why I want one so bad it has no teeth 😂 alos I'm a crystal collector and I like to make stuff with crystals so one of these would be super helpful 😊
Them people owned the lease where they found it. Them people also did all the work cutting. Them people also had the interested buyer. So Rod and JC got $20000 for finding opal bearing rock on someone else lease!

Rod is a top bloke, he looked after his old mate, now he's looking after his young mate. Great to see him come out ahead for a change.
Really enjoy Rod’s attitude and how considerate he is of Les and others.
Rod is obviously a good person, he deserves every bit of successes he gets.
Putting these boys together was the best idea, these blokes are my favorite in the whole show.
Rod & JC make a pretty good team. Like to see them working together more
So happy for Rod, he's always working bloody hard and always manages to crack a smile. Good luck in the future Rod & JC 👍
Feel like JC is making a good name for himself, good lookin dude, enthusiastic and he’s getting screen time and coin. Dude is going to make it
This is why i love opal, the colours, some with interesting patterns! Just so beautiful...
An old timer passing on his knowledge to a young gun. Great stuff
Super happy for the both of you. I've no doubt you'll hit your targets.

Creí q se podían negociar muy rápido pero veo q el comprador pone el precio muy por debajo y a veces parecen abusadores
This has been a great series with two top blokes, love it and all the best to them.
Well done Rod and JC - The luck of the draw and hard work pays off !!!!!

I thought they would’ve got more than 20grand
Easy to get ripped off when you only think it's worth little. But you got to think, it's a show. Probably for show to keep regular people screwed.

Hammonds was worked out way back in the early 70's....I knew the mine well.
Loving the boys trip enjoying it
"Pickle me grandmother".....as an Australian I can honestly say that is the funniest and strangest saying I've ever heard
Pickle me grandma! Its big and its cheesy! Love it!
There is over $500.000 worth there

Should have got blackopal direct to cut it!!!
Well deserved mate
I don't understand how big a block of rock and how little the pieces come out of it.
Dream Team
Where is the dude, who was in that team before?
Semangat dalam mencapai tujuan untuk batu permata❤
I bet they took some of the opal while they were cutting it
Wow! wow wow!
Wow 🎉
why opal is most expensive but it is not hard?
Espero verles con su propia mina de opalo o de oro.
Why only $20000 cut?
Not their claim.
Por poco te das un martillazo en el pie. Buen video.
And it will take another 50-100 years for the trees to grow back.
Lmao take 10 to 20 years get it rt.

superrrrrrrr
No hearing or eye protection, been there and lost both, 2 cent TV.
Abalone
I seen way bigger cuts then that.
Camping on a landing , bullspit ... I'm out there at night looking for Opal with the biggest BLACKLIGHT I could find...
So you did all the work and paid for everything to find 100k work of opal to only get 20%
They found it and them people took it from them
Them people owned the lease where they found it. Them people also did all the work cutting. Them people also had the interested buyer. So Rod and JC got $20000 for finding opal bearing rock on someone else lease!
@@waynelemmon3007 That's all correct. Except I calculated $300K, so their share should have been $60K.. correct??
@@TheOriginalBobbyd no way was that parcel worth 300k. If it was, your maths are correct. 20% is still 20% no matter what the valuation is.
@@waynelemmon3007 Of course u would say that cus u r one of them. I know what's going on. Let's just hope they get their 60K 🙏
@@TheOriginalBobbyd thanks for the laugh
Ich gönne euch jeden Gramm Opal😊
safety squints engaged
That wasn't staged at all,2big rock in the middle of little ones, fake
totally! Soo obvious! NOT even a little effort taken to cover it up. Color of the two out of place bigger stones were not the same either.
