here’s a tip. people go up there to drive fast. you may not agree with it but it’s reality and generally it’s a good place to go fast. if someone is wanting to go faster than you pull over at one of the many turn offs. people don’t generally pass like that unless someone is refusing to let them by. not saying that’s exactly what happened there but seems like it. and it’s not karma just because you don’t get it.

It was both. That entire section of highway is solid double non passing lines. The cop knows that moron has been illegally passing people because of the large differential in his speed versus the other traffic. In addition, police do not set up their radar to monitor the section of road directly in front of them. They are actually monitoring far up the road from where their pursuit vehicle is parked. Guaranteed they know he illegally passed on a double solid line, and ticketed him for that too.

@@howarddamico1237 I live in northern California outside of Sacramento, I usually take the 58 at Bakersfield East to Apple valley through Lucerne and on to yucca valley, it's about a 2 hour drive to and yucca valley is about 20 miles away from Palm Springs, I go that way to avoid the major traffic on the 210 & the 10. I was thinking about moving to the Palm desert area, but life got in the way and I'm still in NorCal

I like to enjoy spirited driving on those roads as well, and safety is always my number one priority. This being said, I think there is something to be said about basic traffic flow. I saw that you passed a couple turnouts -it will always be safer to allow faster cars to pass you than to hold them up, no matter how fast you are driving (or how antagonizing they may or may not be). It looked like a nifty trap to me; a spot on the side of the road with a great view of both traffic lanes. Also it is a spot which assholes can't resist passing in!!!
the red car finishes passing before the bright orange stick on the shoulder. A few moments after and then you can see the cop. So no way the cop witnessed the illegal overtake. The citation was for speeding. It is obvious the red car hass been passing traffic illegally but they'll need the evidence for the citation

The cop caught an aggressive/impatient drivers who pass stopped school buses, passing over double yellow lines and exceed the speed limit by 11 mph or more and 16 mph or more on highways. The cop just improved traffic safety. By nabbing these kinds of drivers traffic safety will improve and less and will reduce the number of road rage incidents that occur which more likely occurs from aggressive/impatient drivers.
A guy passes when it is clearly fine to do so and is pulled over for going over the speed limit seconds later down the road. Not that it makes much difference, but the road is rural and has hardly any drivers. Explain to me where there is justice or karma in this video. I only see injustice.

We were both speeding. However he crossed a double yellow line (which is a Traffic offense in the state of California) and passed me. He got to the cop so quick that the cop hadn't even seen me yet.

Passing over a double yellow line isn't illegal.
Double Yellow means No passing for you OR oncoming traffic. You can pass someone if you have a broken yellow line.
