Trucking doesn't mean just over-the-road. I've been doing local for the last three years. Even though I am driving a truck, I miss being over-the-road. I'm currently selling, giving away, or throwing away stuff that I don't need to go live that over-the-road lifestyle. No wife, no kids, no house, and no savings. There is no reason for me to spend $18,000/year on rent just to be home every night. My goal is to retire in the Philippines. The next ten years will be all about investing for my retirement.

“Trucking is a career not a job” I’ll go one step further it’s a lifestyle. Your probably going to quit in the first year you don’t really start making good money until about year 2-3 and that’s if you know what your doing.

Good morning, Tyler! Excellent advice...I totally agree with you that trucking requires a commitment and a desire to do it! Why be miserable a year or two away from home? Home job/save/plumbing school! It's great to hear from you and roll safe out there! I guess I owe you two steaks now! (lol)

2 years bro I strongly disagree but to each is own….maybe he’s saying trucking is his second option so if plumbing fail which I doubt then he’ll always have that other option but other than that I agree it’s not a quick fix and most of the good companies do need like 2 years experience

if you don’t love driving with a PASSION it’s not worth it. You will throw your life away on the road. You can’t get time back

It's the easiest job I've ever had. The investments and other stuff will come gotta master your craft first.

Just started at Crete. Was getting frustrated learning the tablet. Peoplenet/ instinct and learning the Crete Shaffer way of doing things. Did you run into any complications when first adapting to everything Crete ?
