Join us to explore the enchanting charm of Bernkastel-Kues, the most beautiful town on the Mosel River. Bernkastel-Kues is a town on the Middle Mosel in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is a well-known winegrowing centre. Worth seeing in Bernkastel is the mediaeval market square with its gabled timber-frame houses from the 17th century, foremost among which is the narrow Spitzhäuschen (“Pointed House”) from 1416. Around the St. Michaelsbrunnen (“Saint Michael’s Fountain”) from 1606 gathers a row of well-preserved buildings and also the Renaissance Town Hall from 1608. St. Michael and St. Sebastian church was built in the second half of the 14th century in the form of a three-aisled pseudo-basilica. Two bays of the central nave, the side aisle and the choir in the late Gothic style are still originally preserved today. This makes St. Michael the only uniformly preserved building from this period in the Moselle area. Its tower is the landmark of the town.
