This theme song is still catchy after almost 10 years. I remember wanting to play this when I heard about it in a Nintendo Power magazine although I had no idea who the Tatsunoko characters were at the time. I found it odd that my dad had some familiarity with Ken the Eagle prior to hearing about this game dispite not being into anime or western cartoons.
I legit just nostalgia-cried from the purity of this song and the sheer miracle that this game even came to the west. I still remember preordering it and picking it up when it came out, and that was before I focused on fighting games in the way that I do today--in fact, it's essentially a large part of why I became as interested in them as I am now. People don't know how big of a gem they're sleeping on with this one. This game had the perfect aesthetic for what it was trying to be, and it's very clear that so much love was put into this game...I have SOOO many memories of going through the arcade ladder with every single character, competing against my dad in matches time and time again, fighting my friends in local matches and then getting trashed online...I don't have the game anymore, but I'm hoping to pick up a new copy soon before they get crazy expensive. I know how impossible it is because both demand and rights issues, but this is the one fighter I WISH Capcom would either port to newer hardware or make a sequel to!!
