This is fantastic! I've been juggling between using Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline. I am well-versed with the Storyline for creating interactives, and looking at this video, I am sure Captivate as a content curator will be really really different! But I am excited to explore this one.
3:50 usually when you screen record and also record audio/video your processor will still have hickups if it cant handle two strenuous processes. Great video though, really helped me alot!
I'm brand new to Captivate and trying my best to follow along. Everything seems simple enough but when I double click on the text box to edit the title nothing happens. I've double clicking all around and no matter what do I can edits the text content of the box. All I can seem to do is select the fluid box container but not ability to select the text. What am I doing wrong?
Oh the irony. I am creating a basic project same as you for practice and I chose my theme before you did and what I wanted the content to be about. I am a surfer lolololololol.... My practice run is the history of surfing hahahahahahaha...... I like you dude.
Depends. You dont need to but if it helps give you structure, keeps you on task, and provides motivation then I imagine it would help a lot. But its not required.
I'm about to receive a captivate licents. I like how you add your croped image without the traditional arial rectangle. Do you have a description of how to do this?
I too would like to know what you used to remove the background from your video. So many screensharing recording programs put you in a box or disk or something.
Hello Ray. As always appreciate your tutorials. I have a question. I am using Adobe Captivate 7. I have a slide at the beginning of a tutorial and need the same name to appear at the end, on a Certificate that I Created with the current Date. Greatly appreciate your help.
Shoot, I don't have Captivate 7 on this machine. Does it have the certificate widget? There are still a few ways around it even if not. The easiest by far is to just ask the user to enter their name/date and print.
I have an urgent question and please try to answer me as fast as you can. I'm reading the modality principle and I am asked to do the technique of (Converting the text to narration) but I have to make the text disappear if the user hit the button. In other word it's either the user see the text or hear the narration based on his request, so please answer me as soon as you can. Thank you
What I usually do is have the narration and then offer a transcription for the users to view if they would like to. It sounds like you are asking if the user could have a choice? Or would one be playing/shown first?
@@RaymePastore the user should have the choice of either seeing the text or hearing a narration... can u walk me through the process or any alternative process like the one u mentioned
Great step by step guide. As a Captivate Beginner, this is the first tutorial which I've found easy to follow and create a basic module. Thanks!
This guy makes very solid instructional design videos.
Close your eyes and you hear Steve Carell teaching Captivate
Yes!! I was wondering where I have heard the voice and then saw your comment!
Now i can’t concentrate! 😂
Very helpful. I am preparing to use Adobe Captivate at work in a month or so and trying to get the basics down.
Thank you for this beginner guide.
I'm very new to Captivate and this was a fantastic, easy-to-follow tutorial. Thank you.

They are both very similar. I prefer Captivate but I use Articulate professionally as well. Both are very good.
This was so very helpful! Thank you so much!
Hi Ray...how do i rename my slides to make it easier for the user to remember which topics they want to view?
Buddy! Your face, remarkable way of delivering and style remind me Mr. Randy Pausch. Nice job.

Hey George, did you mean how did I crop myself out of a normal rectangle? If so, I used a green screen.
Great Video! Thanks for the clear instructions.
Hello Ray, How do you include your own video into the training
I get asked this question so often that I created a video explaining it:) th-cam.com/video/znpfnIF8I8M/w-d-xo.html
Mr Ray, how are you able to record such a video with your face ON IT, please help on that. I will really appreciate your assistance
I too would like to know what you used to remove the background from your video. So many screensharing recording programs put you in a box or disk or something.
green screen removes me from image. Any screen/video capture program will do it if you have the screen with correct lighting

I use a combination of Premiere, OBS, and Camtasia for most of my videos.
