I still like Nick Shabazz, but I certainly don't agree with everything he says. I adore the Mercator. It's brilliant. However, I hate the Douk-Douk. The one I have is extremely sharp in the handle, and thus beyond uncomfortable. The Mercator, however has a very smooth inside that doesn't hurt the hand. I vastly prefer it.
Wow, serial comma/Oxford comma comment on a knife review (something I think Nick would appreciate). Irrespective of the pedantic punctuation debate about comma placement (the comma could be a marker for an appositive phrase, but I doubt it is being used as such here). The Oxford comma reference is up there with the Plato Cave Allegory reference in an earlier review or your economic analysis. As Aristotle states, "A grammarian is only a grammarian when he is correctly practicing his craft; when incorrectly practicing his craft, he is just a dude" (obviously a paraphrase). Love Nick and the otters and, indeed, Gilbert was an underrated comedian. Thanks for the instructive and entertaining reviews.
You won't regret ordering one! If you put small thumbstud on it, or one of the studs that are longer with low profile, you'll find it hogging pocket time!
This is the definition of missing the point. Nick never said this knife was bad for what it is, only the it doesn't hold up to modern knives, mostly in terms of modern, convenient features. Would I carry the Mercator? Absolutely. Would I say It's superior to modern knives in even most ways? Of course not!
This is my EDC. I’ve lost a couple over the years and immediately replaced them. Best knife I’ve ever had.
This knife saved my ass, one time. Also was useful for many a supper!

Can't beat the thin factor. Full 3.5" locking blade. What's not to like?
I wish they were sold in Walmart!!
These have a pocket clip yet? I jave an old one I found. Would love a new one with a clip
They do sell them with pocket clips now. I don’t like clips on my knives, but that’s just me.
bro u gotta wear gloves for harsh chemicals. your fingers will thank you ;)
Used to see these for sale in the back of gun magazines decades ago. Just ordered one this afternoon. Good vid! 👍

Because you’re dumb.
Nick Shabazz sounds like he crawled out of a sewer in New York. Turn the sound off when you watch his review
His voice reminds me of the late, great, Gilbert Gottfried. (RIP!)
