Especially to meet Arturo who hails from Calabria Italy and loves making his loyal clients beyond happy for close to 40 years.
I took my Friend and Colleague Matteo DiGrigoli was born and raised in Sicily and Brooklyn and when you hear Matteo's testimonial outside after and inside during our lunch it is special and from the heart.
To start we both were amazed and first ever experienced an appetizer perfect for any summer day, a nice wedge of fresh Watermelon with Burrata Cheese on top with a balsamic glaze drizzled. Oh my!!!!! This was while we enjoyed Arturo's famous homemade bread and after enjoying the whole basket we weren't bloated or full a bit, it's the quality of ingredients! Then Arturo brought out his famous and one of a kind Tomato Pies. Matteo's video testimonial truly sums it up. All I can say is you will never get a similar Tomato Pie in the State and the Country and maybe even the World! Then Arturo wasn't finished, out from the kitchen he brought such a delicious pasta bolognese cooked to perfection. When we were beyond satisfied ready then out came Arturo with a unique healthy Chicken Franchese dish that was again beyid stellar! Arturo shared when I asked how does he get thd chicken to be so tender and full of the franchese sauce....I unfortunately can't share his secrets!
Everything at Calabria Pizza & Italian Grill is made with the freshest ingredients with pride and love. There is even a garden on the side of Arturo's building with Fig Trees, Basil and even Fennel! Plus much more!
