    We are two female travellers from Canada. Carlos is an amazing human being! Met him when catching a taxi and he is now our tour guide! He is an amazing driver and has gone out of his way to make us feel safe! 100% recommend

    Avoid this country > like a plague ! --- Mexico too. --- US & Canadian expats will be safer - will save as much money - and - have English widely spoken in the Philippines and even Cambodia - with locals much friendlier towards N. Americans in both countries !!! 🤗

    Don’t take taxis they’re known to kidnap, take Ubers.

    Having resided in Medellin for
    three years, the last year seems to have seen a spike in crime.
    While sitting at Suramerica Metro, having a tinto. Street guy approaches begging for a cigarette...refused. Street guy wants to swap a pair of scissors (10,000cop?)...i refuse, he grabs my umbrella, threatens me with the shears. I recover the umbrella, start walking stairs into metro station...street guy attempts to kick my feet from under me. Bystanders have called the police. Street guy exits the scene...police arrive, 15 minutes later. Cruise the area...nothing.
    One week later having another tinto, different location...street guy is now paying for his own tinto AND cigarette. See's me...departs.
    Police can't seem to locate this guy...same neighborhood. Funny...peculair...paranoia?

    It’s absurd and comical needing to have the gold chain discussion toward the end. Even in the bigger cities in Europe you are not save wearing these.

    Colombians will always tell you things are dangerous. Any barrio you ask about, if the person you ask doesn't live there, they will say it's dangerous. Because they have been taught to stay in their barrios where it's safe for them. I am blonde with blue eyes and I go into EVERY barrio. And I live in one of those "dangerous" barrios for over 6 years.. Never felt safer in my life. So, take safety advice from a local with a grain of salt.

    What forms of payment do Taxis accept?

    • @travelexploreclick
      @travelexploreclick  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Mostly cash. I have seen very few taxis that accept credit cards. You can also use Uber.
