You don't seem to have the same energy for the actress that actually pushed the security guard and you're conveniently ignoring this issue took place in 3 instances with one common denominator .... why is that?
Kelly Rowland is so foolish to have made this into a racial issue. That is probably one of the laziest things you can do when you feel offended is automatically run to the worst scenario you can think of (racism). Clearly Kelly Rowland has NOT done her homework, no surprise there, otherwise she would have realized that the SAME security guards have done the SAME thing to WHITE models and actresses that have attended the SAME event. But I get it… Kelly Rowland wanted to get “sympathy” from the public by saying this was “racially motivated,” when it was in fact not.
This is not racism. This is about a host/security agent who is doing her job to make an entitled no-one who thinks she is the center of the universe move on because, guess what?, there are other people there waiting to go up the stairs too and there is a schedule to respect! Sorry, the racism card does not always work. And presenting yourself as a "victim" when you are actually the entitled one DOES NOT WORK! This is actually insulting to all minorities who are ACTUALLY victims of real racism. Shame on her and on people here buying this fake racism card. If you do, that means you actually know nothing about racism and rejection (consider yourself lucky and stop complaining!).
I'm glad NBC shed light on the other women as well as K. Rowland. Communication and patience is key, "guiding" a walking adult along like that will only infuriate them and escalate matters. In Kelly's case she was trying to gather her dress which takes a moment. It's supposed to be a festive event it's not a riot. Don't have the festival in your town anymore if it has to be like that.
She could have nicely said, one sec. Just because she is a security at a high event similar to Oscars in US, doesn't mean it's ok to throw fingers in her face.
If you watch the video of Kelly in about the same spot on the stairs as Heidi, it’s clear that Kelly is being photographed much less than Heidi. In fact I see few if any camera flashes for Kelly, compared to the many flashes visible for Heidi. The ushers job is to keep the line moving, and the amount of time you’re allotted to stand on the carpet is determined by press demand. This is France. How many of the photographers really know who Kelly Rowland is today, and how much demand is there for photographs of her from media buyers? Now the same question for Heidi. Race not involved, popularity is.
I’m Korean on my mom’s side and Irish on my dad’s side. And a lot of countries that are not accustomed to dealing with foreigners or people of color on a daily basis act like this, and it’s wrong! America is a little different because there are a number of National groups here. But other countries need to get with it you do NOT treat others disrespectfully because they are different from you!
I can't imagine seeing someone who's obviously a star, wearing an outfit like that, knowing they're going to be on dozens of cameras, and deciding you wanna act like that anyway. Yoona has more star power in her little finger than most of France has combined, that security guard should be working as a dishwasher for the rest of her life.
Honestly, if Cannes doesn’t come out denouncing this behavior then, as a celebrity, I’d stop attending. The celebrities are the reason most people even know about or watch this event. Let’s see how much money and sponsorship their event gets if ,collectively, the celebrities don’t show up next year. She could have hurt someone with the way she was handling them. What if one of them fell down the stairs because of her?! They make a point of this ritual of parading the celebrities up a thousand stairs in outfits that took months to curate just so people can see them, but can’t give them a second to take pictures?! So Oxymoronic.
There's nothing to see here, folks. The red carpet is at the bottom of the stairs. It's the attendant's job to guide guests off the stairs and into the venue-period. If you needed more airtime, you should have stayed on the carpet near the photography line where you could be properly photographed. Context is crucial here. What people are seeing are a few celebrities who "feel" disrespected, but we don't have all the facts. Americans often blow things out of proportion, acting in ways that don't align with the rest of the world's standards. Another reason why context and facts matter: someone might ask, "Why wasn't Heidi Klum or others rushed off?" What you didn't realize (or bother to look for) is that Klum was a guest of L'Oreal, one of the main sponsors of the festival. In that case, the stairs are blocked off for her. Other celebrities who were guests of sponsoring brands also had the stairs closed off for them, ensuring they had exclusive access and proper visibility at the event. What is unfortunate about all these moments is that you get to see these people lose their cool for all the world to see, and in the process reinforce any stereotypes people may have. Sometimes in life, you just keep it moving and maintain your composure. Things can always be handled behind the scenes, and you can still tell your story afterward to shine a light on what was perceived as wrong. Lastly, the film festival has lots and lots and lots and lots of rules--do's and don'ts. What you can wear. What you can't wear. Where you can be seen or not be seen, etc. etc. It is always our duty as guests to be up to speed on what we should and shouldn't do.
Yes ppl are so ignorant and quick to play the victim card. That security guards job is to keep ppl from falling on thise stairs and they DO touch your back if you start to turn or something...those girls are all in 5 inch heels! She did nothing wrong. People with race-tinted glasses see racism everywhere. Won't be invited back next year! 🤷
I saw Heidi Klum walking what i think is this same red carpet. She was given space. No one blocked her photos and she was not hurried along. I wonder if the rules only apply to some. Maybe that lady wasn't there when Heidi walked the carpet, I don't know. But, that security seems a bit aggressive about blocking some of these women and hurry them off the carpet.
An excerpt from an article about the Cannes Film Festival from 2022 "The dynamics. Marginalized groups, specifically Black people, are excluded from these “elite” environments. Those in power refuse to accept that the media landscape is changing. The higher one climbs, the more egregious the micro-aggressions become."
The fact that these women just wanted to be seen is the reason why they were upset. Kelly Rowland has always been second best and who tf even knows who Massiel is?
From what I heard & saw from other news outlets, the security was just doing their jobs and they had to move the celebs along. Apparently, during the Cannes festival, posing in some areas..like on the stairs was a big no no. It was security’s job to make sure people abided to those rules. It has nothing to do with racism. I feel like celebs are just too quick to say ‘racism’ when people don’t bend over backwards for them or go ooh-aah for them 😅

Also all the ladies are naturally dark hair women. Now if Kelly had slapped that lady then I could see people having something to talk about.

I saw many other women that had zero security in their pics or on the steps with them. That lady was blatantly pushing her up the steps and putting her arms out to block people from taking clear pics. I am Korean. After I watched some videos in which a member of the girl group, Girls' Generation has gone through a similar accident to this, I am here to say I felt really disappointed that the security guard of Cannes did such rude behavior. At first, I think it was only for few people in France, But after I saw the people of Cannes doing nothing in compensation for the people who have been hurt by racist behavior. Now that I think all France people are the same as a security guard
u know what ironic is that the Guard tha she just blocked members of best selling Girl groups both Kelly n Yoona are both Girl group members are From Destinys child and Girls Generation while Massiel taveras is an actress and Sawa potyska is a Tv host and model an both of the 2 are Models too i feel sorry 4 the 4 of them did get racial block by the but hoping next year this wont happen again
So funny how Kelly was deemed aggressive and angry and now there is proof this security guard is totally unprofessional.
I want to see you work an event when someone shoves their finger multiple times in your face, demeans you the 'small person' in comparison to them in front of all the people at the event and cameras all the while you are trying to do your job and move attendees along so everyone is there on time.

Yes, the securities will not attend next year. Any years after neither!
I wish we could get Canne’s side and get those staff members their statement.
"regular people, normal human" so are they not humans
The news anchor looked annoyed with his choice of words also. Non celebrities. People who aren't in the business. Spectators, ect.
That’s security guard need to get fired!
When Kelly was mad people blame her for being dramatic and extra but when other celebrities are mad they understand and supports them.
Selfies? Shoes? You forgot the other Cannes Festival ‘strict rule’ that minority artists can’t pose for photos on the carpet like the white ones🙄
of course, let's keep playing that card
@malovina There was literally 3 examples of that shown within the video. At that point, it's a pattern
THIS IS SO TERRIBLE SHE NEEDS TO GET FIRED 😢
If you watch the video of Kelly in about the same spot on the stairs as Heidi, it’s clear that Kelly is being photographed much less than Heidi. In fact I see few if any camera flashes for Kelly, compared to the many flashes visible for Heidi. The ushers job is to keep the line moving, and the amount of time you’re allotted to stand on the carpet is determined by press demand. This is France. How many of the photographers really know who Kelly Rowland is today, and how much demand is there for photographs of her from media buyers? Now the same question for Heidi. Race not involved, popularity is.
Heidi is a representative of L'oreal, who is a sponsor of Cannes Film Festival. All sponsored celebs were given special camera time and attention.
We don’t follow cannes
It's not about hard candy anymore. 🥱
There were no crimes at the Oscars or Cannes till this group showed up

And the'y don't care.
Cannes should be removed forever
And you should shut up.
It’s gross that she thinks she can put her hands on or near anybody.
It was racism as the french can do. I have experienced it as a non speaking tourist in Paris, even in Ivory Coast!
Racial issues are everywhere in the world not just France, there also good people who don't indulge in racial ideologies everywhere around the world.
I feel like if you look for it, you will always find it. Somehow so many other women of color were able to go up the stair and not have issues.
Lol it's not about racism, i saw alot of celebrities getting treated that way it's not just her
Why was she on them like they’re being sniped by a gunman? lol
"normal humans"?
Just lost all respect for Rowland for pulling the race card, had Fckall to do with race.
I don't understand why? Why was that woman always blocking her right arm? For what? She was so annoying.
I’m proud of these women taking a stand people should give you space it’s so. Disgusting how Hollywood is
There's nothing to see here, folks.
Standing ovation. Thank you!
Yes ppl are so ignorant and quick to play the victim card. That security guards job is to keep ppl from falling on thise stairs and they DO touch your back if you start to turn or something...those girls are all in 5 inch heels! She did nothing wrong.

An excerpt from an article about the Cannes Film Festival from 2022

From what I heard & saw from other news outlets, the security was just doing their jobs and they had to move the celebs along. Apparently, during the Cannes festival, posing in some areas..like on the stairs was a big no no. It was security’s job to make sure people abided to those rules. It has nothing to do with racism. Only actors featured in the premiered film can pause for photos. B list/over the hill demi-celebrity audience members need to keep it moving on the red carpet.
