The executioner is a very simple concept card, but something about him just makes it very fun to play. Perhaps its just satisfying to see the axe go forth and back and kill all the tiny minions. Perhaps the little whirly noise when the axe is spinning. Whatever it may be, i love this card.
I don't even play the game, and I just really like the whole boomerang axe thing. I don't know why I like it, maybe because it comes back to catch anything it missed? Idk.

You are literally saying to me that everything about this card I couldn't stand were all bugs. I feel vindicated after all this time. Wonderful documentary.

The only thing I wanna say is that your audio is always kinda low, even when I turn the volume to max I still have some issues hearing you every now and then. i have great rework idea for executioner just change his axe attack direction, rather than going in strait line and return in same direction, make it like a throwing boomerang in curve direction and he also dont even need tornedo after this change. BTW love your content, i really prefer quality over quantity.

The Royal Giant rework made sense because it's issue was clearly the range. But I think the issue with the executioner was more complex so it was harder to balance.

I also want to add this year in October his stun damage made a quick cameo during an event where Halloween themed cards got a special power. It was barely noticeable. I barely saw it once when my fire spirt was stopped in tracks by executioner

I love how the executioner is portrayed in this video as an obsessive and clingy card, always trying to get the attention of the tornado so that it can have the triumphant relationship it once had with it. It can be seen through it becoming really strong so that the tornado would notice it/feel jealous that the exe no longer needs it, as well as when the exe is really bad so that the tornado will notice it and feel bad, only for them to end up in a functional and non-dependent relationship with each other in the end, kinda romantic lol
Executioner actually has a place now these days, whether or not tornado exists with the card, the change that increased his tile range helped him be more viable like the bowler when he was given the exact change. With the phoenix being dominant in some of the most annoying decks, the card is now needed more than ever until then.
The most annoying with executioner (as someone who plays him) is that he doesn't always fire someone who is at his max range. His range is very high, but he can't attack that card at maximal range without a carde closer to him

ahh, one of my favorite cards, been using him from the weird half stun thing he had when he was added to the picture change to the time he became a firebally killer for a couple of months to that time he got an emergency buff to now where he's just kinda there to compete with wizard
I'm gonna be honest, I loved this era of the game. Before both the buffs of the witch and exe, I used them anyway. I was stuck in challenger 2, and these buffs helped me get out of that trophy range, and plus lavaloon was dead, so that's always a win.
Could you make a video about the evolution of chests in Clash Royale? I think its a very interesting topic and many weird things are not known widely like for example that you can still see how many cards a free chest contains in a certain arena although the free chest is not in the game anymore since more than 2 years or that with the recent update most arena 20 chests will contain more than arena 15 chests but the arena 20 royal wild chest contains the same as the arena 15 royal wild chest.
Not quite about chests but search Math Royale in the subreddit. And there's a massive effort post about how long it takes to max out for your regular Joe today compared to years ago. It's over 5 years today if you play at 100% efficiency.
I remember when it first came out at 4 elixir. It was basically a better wizard at only 4 elixir. It was so op they needed to emergency nerf it. Also the axe could potentially never come back. Fun times.

Executioner has always been my favorite card, thanks for the spotlight. Wish they were able to balance him better or introduce a card that would synergize with him without being frustrating like old nado synergy.
People have mostly maxed out the 42 cards plus the other couple dozen released the next couple years. That's part of the reason SC keeps them weak and prone to Power Creep. To encourage people to spend to max out the newer, stronger cards.
Quick heads up, I stopped playing Clash Royale 6 years ago, when the game was a lot more fun, simpler and F2P friendly. Back then I had like 5600 trophies and I played one deck with which I experimented SO much without ever looking at meta or tierlists or tutorials, that deck was a Graveyard deck with a cost of I think 3.4 elixir, which was not bad. I loved every single card I had but the star of the show was most definetly the Executioner, I loved that guy SO MUCH. A great AoE unit that dealt a lot of damage, that could penetrate backlines while not being oneshot by a fireball (yeah I'm looking at you wizard). I included him in every single one of my decks, challenges and events. I only found out today that what I thought were features were actually bugs and glitches, I had no idea about them. Edit: no, I never used Tornado, not even once. In fact I sucked with and I heavily avoided it. Poison+Zap ftw. Edit 2: +98% DAMAGE HOLY FUCK WHAT Edit 3: September 2019 was crazy for my boy.
I have a weird feeling that supercell will nerf the phoenix to the ground. And it’s will be much like the executioner. Where it will have an insane amount of reworks and balence changes.

It's a similar reason for why I like the giant skeleton. It ain't necessarily good, but it's a giant pile of bones that goes boom.
