    I carried that for years while in the airforce. While not a quick draw holster, it does the job of retention perfectly. In a combat situation, where gear gets tossed around and lost, retention is what you want. You're primary firearm is your rifle and if you ever need to go to your sidearm, trust me, you'll have more than enough time to get it out and on target.

    It is quick draw if you take the cover off you don’t need it or the optional strap. Just use the plastic belt loops.

    The D-ring is awkward to grip when under stress so I hooked on a half size carabiner. Works like a charm and very easy to grab quickly.

    I managed to snag one of these today at a surplus store in like new condition for $25 and for anyone wondering it fits a full size 1911 with rail

    The M-12 fits the family of large framed Glocks.
    G-20, G-21,and G-22 (all generations) are a perfect fit.

    The M12 holsters have a safety concern with striker fired pistols. The UM84 if you notice does not fully enclose at the back around the trigger guard. Foreign objects like sticks can insert into the trigger guard and defeat the trigger safeties, causing unwanted discharges. Bianchi made the UM92 for Glock and other striker handguns. The difference is a black piece of plastic incorporated into the rear of the holster that surrounds the trigger guard and prevents those foreign objects from getting in.

      @robertsbushcraft  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a 100% valid safety concern, Chad. The Bianchi UM92 is an upgrade that I am getting: amzn.to/2QfGt2Z

      I hope you see this! Will an m&p 2.0 fit with the trigger guard? It's a full size. If you don't know don't worry!!!

    • @chadhalvorson441

      @@Warlock-ke2sw I would say it will fit the USGI size UM84, the UM92 I think will, but I'd want the confirm. The UM92 holster would be preferred for striker fired pistols since it enclosed the trigger guard.

    It doesn’t take long at all to draw from that holster, we used them in desert storm and I used it on the job in black version.

    The complaints for the flap d ring can be solved the way rangers did. They used to tie paracord onto the end with a basic knot and pull it down, then up to draw. I do this and works great.
    Its an original m12 and applies to all the models. The Um92 would be the best model holster for striker fire handguns as it has a polymer trigger guard.
    Bit more pricey even in today’s prices

    Still have two of them out is the shed,bought in maybe 1988 and had to get the shoulder carry strap,quick release snap,leg drop adapter,you know,all the garbage you'll never use.For military field carry it was alright,but for garrison M.P. work we dumped them fast.

    • @robertsbushcraft
      @robertsbushcraft  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just received the thumb snap strap for it yesterday! I'll get the whole rig eventually and I'm of the same opinion as you about it's usefulness. For me this is more of a "always wanted one of those!" type deals and so far it's exactly what I expected it to be.

    Hey Curry, I got one of these holsters about 25 years ago when I got my Beretta 92FS which fits in perfectly. Recently I found another at my local surplus store that was attached to a drop leg platform. Didn't know they make a quick release option for it. Good to know, thank you. Hope you will post a link to where to find it. Take care guys and stay safe.

    It's better than any of those velcro strap holster for a full frame pistol. I have more than once had my Baretta fall out of a holster while bank fishing or hiking through the woods . 🪵 No holster is perfect 👌 I like you love these things .
