- Brockwell Park, south London. The Tritton Clock, a mini Ben, installed in 1897, had stopped and needed a complete overhaul. The film follows the restoration by Gillett and Johnston,
the original maker, and the wonderful team of restoration engineers and the Lambeth Council restoration committee. - บันเทิง
I have tears of happiness. Thanks a lot!
I'm glad you like it
We've walked past the clock countless times and admire the craftmanship. Excellent documentary showing the care and attention given to restoring this lovely clock to its former glory. Thanks Friends of Brockwell Park and Gillett & Johnston.
Thank you and thanks for your interest.

I always love how people take care of the old public clocks
Yes, this was paid for by pubic subscription and largely from one person. Thanks for you interest.
Andy Humphreys no problem
Kelly I wanted to Lowden cody aoubstly not
I grew up at Leander Road from 1947 until the 60s when we moved to Crownstone Court. Brockwell Park holds a lot of memories for me, especially on Sundays when mum used to take us up to the "Big House" for an ice lolly or a bottle of pop, and sandwiches on the green. I went to Effra Parade School and often cut through the park on the way home. There was always a smell of burning timber and masonry dust in the air as old Victorian houses made way for Council Estates, and of tar blocks as the tram lines were dug up. I had a great childhood back then and left the area in 1969 when I married. There will always be a place in my heart for Brockwell Park. That chosen colour for the clock was almost identical to how I remember it. As I recall, all the iron railings in the park were painted dark green too, as were the swings.
Thanks for that. The seats are still green - designed to blend in. Best wishes.
Great restrictions of clock good work done
Great video, I lived in Herne Hill 52 years ago!

2:25 door: YOU SHALL NOT SEE OUTSIDE!
When they take out the clock (or the face of the clock), all I could hear was "brace yourself Rodney. Brace yourself)...
VERY GOOD , BRASIL OK.
Hello and thank you for your interest.
Does Gillett and Johnston also still make mechanical public clock movements?
Yes - as far as I know but look at their website: www.gillettjohnston.co.uk. Hope you liked the film.
Why we are unable to make beautiful objects today?
I don't know! Thanks for your interest.

Boa sorte com isso. Best wishes. Andy
What is the music at 17:34 and other parts of the film
All the music came from Audio Network - a music publisher and library. The track at 17.34 is ANW 1597 - Play All Day. Hope this helps and thanks for your interest.
They fixed a smaller 14-foot tall clock, and suddenly in 2017 came the restoration of the 314-foot Great Clock of Westminster, “Elizabeth Tower.”
Thanks for your comment. The problem at Westminster was that the tower was tilting over. The clock was fine!
What song is in the background?
Great video, shame about the ridiculously loud, jangley muzak completely drowning out the voices.
Not sure what you mean! If you turn the volume down it's fine and is OK in my mixer. Thanks for the interest.
Very interesting video of how people can get together and save something for future generations. 👏 Bravo!
I do wish the music was turned down as to hear what was being said.
PEACE!
im worried about 14:49. painting over the rusted surface.
Hi Hammi, They grey paint sprayed on at 15.00 is primer - to prevent further rust. Thanks for your interest and I hope you liked the film.
Is that clock in the uk
Yes, Brockwell Park is in south London between Brixton, Herne Hill and Tulse Hill. Thanks for your interest.
@@Theandyhumphreys I live in leeds and I would like to see it
@@person_1473 Hello Charlie, Good town Leeds. But to visit the clock, if you don't want to drive, then take a train to Euston or coach to Victoria Station, then Victoria Line tube to Brixton and it's a 10 minute walk to Brockwell Park. But the Tritton Clock looks exactly as it does in the film. I can send you photographs if that would do.
@@Theandyhumphreys I do have a car but the park looks lovely to have a picnic there and when it is the 6 week holidays in hope I go there

Sorry, it's not for sale.
I’ve never seen such a bunch of unqualified bodge artists at work before. The original Green was on the inside of the door and used on the clock mechanism ironwork. But they couldn’t work that out 🤦🏻 what a terrible restoration. I hope they didn’t charge much 🤨
These repairers have never done a mechanics apprenticeship - heat by welding torch, blow lamp or eddy current coils, is the way to loosen rusted-in tight nuts and bolts.
