"The Royal Affair" is a Danish movie, and she actually didn't know Danish fluently, when she got the part. She only knew a few sentences. But again, Danish isn't that difficult to learn, if you're Swedish
Exactly, seriously America, is my country really that forgettable?? Also, Danish would be really easy to learn as a Swede, I can read Norweigan and Swedish because the roots are so similar
Victoria Brandt I'm Danish, and I think she speaks it well. But in some ways Danish and Swedish is similar. Sometimes we can communicate with each other in our own language. I don't know why people think Danish and Dutch sounds a like, because it doesn't.
The first movie I saw her in it was obvious that she was destined for great things. She has everything including the kind of charisma that keeps your eyes glued to the screen.
I didn't know her before Ex Machina. That is one of my favorite films of all time. I'm glad she won an Oscar, but I think she deserved it for this film.
I love her ever since and I wished before that she get so much recognition because she's really great in her work and I was never wrong in believing in her. Look where she is right now. Happy for you alicia. I love you.
I have to mention how "learning Danish" is not a very hard process for us Scandinavians. I mean Norwegians, Sweeds and Danes, we basically speak the same genre of languages. I'm Norwegian, and while it might be hard to understand, I can read Danish fluently.
The spoken Danish is the issue, many Swedes my region and other parts of the country will not understand 70%+ of what a Danish person is saying in normal conversation. But everyone can understand it in written form. I've spent a lot of time in Copenhagen in my life, but i've always had to switch to English for any discussion that goes beyond the most common small talk/niceties. But yeah, shouldn't be too hard to get a better grasp of Danish in spoken form for any Swede/Norwegian person either. It would take some effort, though.
I hope she won¨t fade suddenly, she is amazing, ana one of the most amazing actresses I have seen in my life,I just love to see her in the big screen, I wish her more than success!!!
He will fade when they can't hide the man features anymore. That usually happens about 30 to 35. Then no doubt he will get numerous, horrific plastic surgeries to keep some semblance of feminine features.
I didn't know she was A Former Ballerina, but looking at her Body shape, I really can see how being a Ballerina fits.. She carries herself in the same manner.. I too Love seeing her, Wonderful actress.. Keep up the good job Alicia..
Her win for THE DANISH GIRL was well deserved. She's a great, beautiful, credible ACTRESS. And THE DANISH GIRL -- that was such a lovely, loving movie. Props to ALICIA! And finally, she's now married to hunky, also fine actor, Michael Fassbender (yum). Happy for them!
I love when clevver does something out of the box. For a long time now it's been a news outlet for like five people and it had been getting old. Please broaden your coverage! Were fired of Kylie, Justin, Gigi. There is so much more y'all could be doing.
Its not like learning spanish, we have a lot of the same words so its most about the pronancuation. Du svenske det er ganske lett i forhold til at de sier at hun måtte lære et helt nytt språk omg, ikke super imponert liksom
The TV-show she was in, was called Andra Avenyn (Second Avenue) and took place in the town Gothenburg (Göteborg). She played a rich, spoiled and a bit of a snobby girl, called Jossan. The show was about some teenagers life and drama in a Swedish high school. But also their parents life. It aired for 3 years and had an extra year with a spin off series called Riverside. But Alicia wasn't in that show.
Another interesting fact about Alicia. Since her English Language debut she has only acted on film twice; Anna Karenina and Jason Bourne. Her other projects were digitally captured
Nah that's impossible you cannot date someone older than you and love them ! If you have more than 4 months of age difference it means you're using them!!! (It's sarcasm)
She might have learned Dutch, we wouldn’t know, but if she did it definetly wasn’t for A Royal Affair cause Dutch was never spoken in that whole movie.... I don’t know what the host is talking about but I think she meant Danish...
her performance in jason bourne is simply amazing, then i was like who is she? now i know and became a fan. i would love to see here as a sith apprentice in star wars for some reason.
i dunno how to describe her face when i first saw her in The Man From UNCLE movie. She is pretty, but not so pretty. She have a very unique looks and u wont get bored looking at her. If i compare her to cindy crawford, i ll say this girl is way prettier than cindy. yes cindy is pretty, beautiful but her looks is kinda normal and its everywhere. Everywhere in the sense of, her looks is pretty much like any other typical american jewish kinda beauty. its kinda lame and boring beauty. but alicia dont fall into that category. She have that flair and unique and pretty and again, unique looks. i like her...
+Zara Kuyah She got that kind of look that "goes through the screen", it's very hard to describe but some actors just "got it" + that she is very devoted in the characters she is doing - och att hon är väldigt bra :)
I love Alicia she's amazing, I rooted for her all of award season and when she won I freaked out I was so happy for her. also is it kinda creepy that I already knew most of these?
She's fabulous. And oh, that remarkable Louis Vuitton color block dress (like a Klimt painting)... STUNNING....and as far as I'm concerned, the one to beat.
She is swedish and learned to speak danish and get her big break pretending to be danish! Respect we swedes really hates Denmark so that was acting huge time.
The show wasn't called you have to be there, the SONG that she lipsyncs to translates to "You have to be there" and it's from a musical called Kristina from Duvemåla. The show is called "Little stars", haha
Haha oh I remember her in that soap opera!! Wow that was a long time ago! Didn't realise it was her as Josefin until recently😂 I remember my sisters being obsessed with it, it was called andra avenyn I think😀

+Rachel Ellebye yeah i know, I'm swedish and i speak danish fluently. Americans just never know the difference between countries in europe haha

DUTCH???? Excuse me. She learned Danish for the Royal affair
Thank you!!! I thought I was the on,h one who realized
Exactly, seriously America, is my country really that forgettable?? Also, Danish would be really easy to learn as a Swede, I can read Norweigan and Swedish because the roots are so similar
No need to be rude Ella. Allvarligt...
Ella have you even heard Danish? Everyone I know who doesn't speak Danish don't think it's that bad. Some even say it's beautiful.
Victoria Brandt
I'm Danish, and I think she speaks it well. But in some ways Danish and Swedish is similar. Sometimes we can communicate with each other in our own language.
I don't know why people think Danish and Dutch sounds a like, because it doesn't.

Alicia totally nailed it in The Danish Girl, how incredible is it to be able to outshine Eddie Redmayne. 😲😐
she would have made a better snow-white than kristen stewart... I am sure about it.
123melatonin hahahaha
cardboard cut out of Kristen would've done the same amount of acting and emoting.
Arnold Schwarzenegger would have made a better Snowwhite than Kristen Stewart.
lol she's not even white. she's very dark
Kristen Stewart is just gross...gross gross.
She would play a good belle in the beauty and the beast live action
She doesn;t speak Dutch. She learned how to speak Danish in 2 months!! Later Daniel added "and she speaks Danish"........lol
Proud 🇸🇪🇸🇪
I didn't know her before Ex Machina. That is one of my favorite films of all time. I'm glad she won an Oscar, but I think she deserved it for this film.

I have to mention how "learning Danish" is not a very hard process for us Scandinavians. I mean Norwegians, Sweeds and Danes, we basically speak the same genre of languages. I'm Norwegian, and while it might be hard to understand, I can read Danish fluently.

I'm so proud to be swedish now!
Best of allt she is a natural beauty. No silicon here, zero affectation. So refreshing among all those fake american beauties. Alicia, du är bäst😁🤗🤗🤗
Alicia speaks english beautifully too
I saw this young lady in an Aussie film and thought then that she will be great, and she is. She just has so much class.
I freaking adore her😍
Same! She's amazing
Seriously though, I love it when Americans try to speak Swedish, it sounds hilarious. "Du måste finnas", not "du maste finnas"
Alicia Vikander is one of the best at this moment !! She is amazing ! I have seen almost every movie she filmed !
I love when clevver does something out of the box. For a long time now it's been a news outlet for like five people and it had been getting old. Please broaden your coverage! Were fired of Kylie, Justin, Gigi. There is so much more y'all could be doing.
*tired
Ya I'm fired of them too lol
She got that snake scene on Louis Vuitton ad... and she's afraid of snakes? YOU GO GIRL.

Danish haha, wich is not hard to learn for a swedish or norwegian girl, the language are pretty much the same
it depends...i'm from northern Sweden and I would find it quite hard.
Its not like learning spanish, we have a lot of the same words so its most about the pronancuation. Du svenske det er ganske lett i forhold til at de sier at hun måtte lære et helt nytt språk omg, ikke super imponert liksom
+Ida Askvik yeah true. Du har rätt ☺
Danish is like talking with a hot potato in your mouth! ;-D
Ida Askvik ofc It's Hard to learn danish. I don't understand a Word of danish

I love her. She's full NY and quirky. She made me laugh on Man from UNCLE
She has the most beautiful skin tone
The TV-show she was in, was called Andra Avenyn (Second Avenue) and took place in the town Gothenburg (Göteborg). She played a rich, spoiled and a bit of a snobby girl, called Jossan. The show was about some teenagers life and drama in a Swedish high school. But also their parents life. It aired for 3 years and had an extra year with a spin off series called Riverside. But Alicia wasn't in that show.
Hahah I remember that show from when I was a kid
Proud over her, she has come very far and hopefully even more far in her career in the future :) #proudswede
Another interesting fact about Alicia. Since her English Language debut she has only acted on film twice; Anna Karenina and Jason Bourne. Her other projects were digitally captured
*So lucky of her*
Michael Fassbender is actually 39 (not 37) & Alicia Vikander is actually 27 (turning 28) - 11 years difference between their ages.
which is ew. He's slowly gone younger. And it's obvious she's using his links
Coco Pops I'm confused. Are you saying their age gap is "ew" or saying its "all good and fine"?
or she actually loves him
Nah that's impossible you cannot date someone older than you and love them ! If you have more than 4 months of age difference it means you're using them!!! (It's sarcasm)
i got that that
Oh please get your facts straight!! It was Danish not Dutch she had to learn!
They said she learned both
Yeah except she never learnt Dutch.
She might have learned Dutch, we wouldn’t know, but if she did it definetly wasn’t for A Royal Affair cause Dutch was never spoken in that whole movie.... I don’t know what the host is talking about but I think she meant Danish...
She is my fav
her performance in jason bourne is simply amazing, then i was like who is she? now i know and became a fan. i would love to see here as a sith apprentice in star wars for some reason.
AWH so sweet! Her face hasn't changed one bit!

Cate Blanchett is a face that you never get tired of seeing.
+Zara Kuyah
She got that kind of look that "goes through the screen", it's very hard to describe but some actors just "got it" + that she is very devoted in the characters she is doing - och att hon är väldigt bra :)
Kuyah Shah I 110% get what u r trying to say.. I am in love..

I'd love to see Alicia Vikander as a Bond girl. She's be terrific.
To learn Danish being Swedish isn 't like an amazing thing. The languages are very similar.
MrFelixify Yeah, just get super drunk as a Swede. Then tadaa, you speak Danish.

She didn't learn Dutch for The Royal Affair, she learned Danish. It is a Danish movie about a Danish king. :)
Proud swede over here!! 💙💛💙💛
Haha oh I remember her in that soap opera!! Wow that was a long time ago! Didn't realise it was her as Josefin until recently😂 I remember my sisters being obsessed with it, it was called andra avenyn I think😀
The show's name translates to "The small stars". You have to be there is the translation of the song's title.
You didn't list one of her best movies: Pure.
Så roligt att Alicia var med i Småstjärnorna :)
Alicia only learned to speak danish in A Royal Affair, not dutch...
She has the most perfect face on the planet!
So humble and down to earth
Gorgeous young lady. Seems a really nice person too.
She is from Sweden so learning danish isnt that hard.
That pronunciation on "du måste finnas där" tho😂😂
Snow white would have been 10 times better with Alicia in it!

no mention of her role as Kitty in Anna Karenina? she was stunning
Alicia Vikander is actually Ava. She has just adapted well.
I love that she saved Jason Bourne !
1:29 what movie is that?
a royal affair... it's on Netflix
0:24 "FIRST! She's my sister" would've been a nice joke to begin with
Beautiful, elegant, intelligent 😍
Umm it's not Dutch for A Royal Affair, it's Danish. And she only learned that language.
haha i was just very provoced by that and had to look through the comments to see if anybody could back me up thank youu!
