    Brad "Just taking a break from doing some accounting, spreadsheets relax me lets listen to a song"
    Lex "Woooo, just finished my 10th double espresso, lets gooooo, pew pew pew(pointing fingers making gun sound)"
    Brad "that was different, but music is math each verse is a column of numbers that should equal 12 but that one verse totaled 13 and I'm not sure I understand"
    Lex "I think the columns total a color and now we all know what blue tastes like, you know what I'm saying"
    Bard "No I don't"
    Lex " ok, ok how about your wearing leather moccasins that sound like Billy Gibbons, but instead of Billy Gibbons you're some small town kid walking through Vegas at 4am and just saw your 1st dead hooker, you know what i mean?"
    Brad "Still no"

    I have always understood this song to be in two steps. 1) The singing character is the demagogue in the concept album. He hates the elites and their beauty culture. 2) His hate for them is a motivator for him to take power over all of humanity and "fix" them, thus the "fascism will take it away." Also, Manson is not a fascist. He is singing a character that is a metaphor for American conservatism. I wouldn't say Manson's lyrics can be taken as his own views verbatim. He is almost always illustrating the world provacatively, and in this song's case providing a psychological explanation for why such an event (the event happening on the concept album) can be possible.

He also did the theme song for the first Resident Evil movie, the intro through the credits (no vocals, just instrumental).

I remember seeing has flyers posted up all over the place him in high striped socks and a lunchbox. I don't think anyone had any idea that he was going to make it. You mentioned NIN, I saw them in a Miami club with Meat Beat Manifesto I remember Manson was talking to Trent and we were like "wow he knows NIN." Anyway that warehouse had the most eclectic mix of band practicing on any given night. On bay would have a guy wilt welding goggles and a synth the next would be thrash metal, then 3 people beating on various large metal pieces of garbage with someone reading poetry over the "beat". Lex identifying this as art is probably the best and most to-the-point description I have ever heard of Manson's music. I'm somewhat of a Manson connoisseur and for me, the pinnacle of Manson's artistry and production is in the album Mechanical Animals. The songs 'The Last Day On Earth', 'Mechanical Animals', and 'Disassociative' are absolutely incredible masterpieces.

    You guys weren't even alive in 1996 when this came out. I just started highschool. My dad actually heard this on MTV before I did and he showed me. Marilyn Manson actually gets better and more creative each release. You never know what to expect. Every album is so different from the next. I listen to mainly Thrash Metal now but outside of Thrash Metal. Marilyn Manson is in my top 10 favorites all day. He has 11 studio albums nothing is at all bad. I saw them first in 1993, then again in 1994 when they opened for Danzig and then again for NIN. I saw them at least 20 times from 1993 to 1996. My personal opinion, their first album is a masterpiece and everything that came after wasn’t quite as good. Mostly due to them kicking out the guitarist who was also the songwriter and the one who came up with the concept of the entire band.

It's so easy to post something on social media and ruin the reputation and career of those who have success like Johnny Depp, Kevin Spacey, Dave Ellefson, Louis C.K., Ben Affleck, Sylvester Stallone, Nick Carter, and the list goes on and on. People always like to believe if someone is accused of doing something bad; ''guilty until proven innocent.'' and that's more of a problem to cancel people based on random accusations without evidence than actually being a little dick to someone on private life.

    • @StarsDie88
      @StarsDie88 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are people who have accused him of shit without the intent to get him 'cancelled' but just merely to explain why they don't like him. Other bands saying that he's pissed in their food and drinks on tours and shit. The dude very clearly has boundary issues and it bleeds into even the live performances sometimes. I think it's valid to wait for evidence still, all I'm saying is that there's a lot that also makes the suspicion of him valid.
