    I also live in a "big truck" area of the country and drive my Abarth daily. I've entertained a lot of questions about what kind of man drives an Abarth in "big truck" country. My usual answer is :"One who has nothing to prove to anyone and truly enjoys driving something fun and different."
    I've had a variety of different sports cars ranging from several Honda S2000's, Nissan Z, BMW 3 series, Porsche 911, Miatas, and Mustangs, as well as several large 4x4 American made and smaller Japanese trucks in addition to several jeep vehicles. Out of all of all of these, the Abarth has been my absolute favorite. And I really don't know why exactly. I suppose its because the Abarth's are a little quirky with a lot of personality and are really different to drive.
    If cars were like underwear the Abarth would be the silk boxer shorts to the world of common tighty whities. Outwardly, a little weird and a little feminine, but over all comfortable and maybe even fun. ;-)

      Steven Nowotny We have the same mentality! My other ride is a big ford f150 4x4 supercrew. My friends laughed at me when I got my Abarth! I dont care what they think and I am getting the last laugh with my Abarth! Bigger aint always better! I think that goes for everything in life. ....YO!

      I get asked "what the hayull kinda Tie-ota is that?" when I blast past the Monster Mudder F-150s that dominate my hometown....

      +Steven Nowotny Amen! The Abarth is a blast to drive....screw those people who cant appreciate what you enjoy. Trucks are for utility...not for "driving", though if you want to own a truck, more power to you!

    Matt Watkinson; leave the rubber spring rest in as it will be metal on metal contact thats bad. The car will settle more, I always keep a 40 pound emergency kit in the back so thats why mine sets maybe a little lower. These springs are low enough anymore and you really mess with the cars geometry, not a good thing.
    couldn't reply on your comment

    Looks like fun to drive just like my EG is. Just love my 8500 RPM for taking turns. But you do have that turbo. Glad you are enjoying your car, great feeling.

    New reply on "I have a black Abarth and love it. Mods you must have! Go pedal,throttle body,light weight pulley, these mods will improve your car performance by adding 40 more HP it's insane. My next mod will be a intercooler. Oh I forgot I have a cool air intake as well👍"

    Look in to some kind of camber kit that should help with the steering. Night and day, make more difference then the Koni shocks and the springs put together.

    When you installed your springs, did you leave the lower rubber bushings on the bottom part of the rear springs? I left mine on and it sits higher than yours seems to. Thinking of removing them to level it out but I was concerned about the lightend steering effect.

    Little more 'forward' view camera; so we can see the road, imperfections, dips, curves, etc.

    The loose steering could be cause by the new tires tread so it may be better after some use or the tire pressure also it could be cause by a bad alignment so yeah

    • @Baasicstuff
      @Baasicstuff  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      yea thats the direction Im going, I know last time I bought new tires it took some time before they broke in; almost felt like they were floating. As for the alignment for sure I think the front cambers off. Thank you for the comment, just what I was looking for

    I don't know why, I just put 215's on and kept the stock height... and the steering got loose like you said in the video. I got the feel for it and it doesn't bother me anymore, also seems like the car's steering is influenced more by defects in the road.

      Chance Dobbins you might need an alignment that fixed my loose steering then again lowering requires that

    i have a 500e out here in califonia I'm about to get koni yellows all around and 2.5 inch drop. watched the entire vid and kept wondering whats wrong with your back window? tint looks weird

    • @Baasicstuff
      @Baasicstuff  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have crystalline tint the best you can buy, BUT in VA we have laws on how dark you can have it. I drive allot at night so I placed removable Auto zone tint on the back to make it darker. That way if I get a ticket I simple remove the additional tint in 2 min. I cant stand the feeling of a lifted pick ups lights shinning on the back of my neck. Most these clowns never adj their lights after they lift them

    How do you like those 215/40s? Does it feel stickier than the 205/40? I've been contemplating but I'm worried about when I'm lowered Itll rub

    • @Baasicstuff
      @Baasicstuff  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The car doves when driven hard the wider tires make a dramatic difference I lowered mine with the neu- f springs Koni yellows and had only rubbing on full hard turns. It only rubbed plastic no metal contact, you will need an alignment done after lowering hope Thais helps

    Good vid! Will you upgrade the exhaust one day ?

    • @Baasicstuff
      @Baasicstuff  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no, not a real weak point of the Abarth, bang for your buck an ECU upgrade

    Where did you get those clear reflectors from?

    • @Baasicstuff
      @Baasicstuff  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      on the internet, cant find the site....it's those details that make this car really look great

    How did lowering her affect camber? Should have made all 4 corners more negative camber..

    • @Baasicstuff
      @Baasicstuff  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had everything re aliened the factory Abarth is an average sports car at best. with 10k you can make this car drive the way it should. After my upgrades I have yet to find a more fun car to drive

    • @BoopSnoot
      @BoopSnoot 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a twist beam rear axle... you can drag the ass on the ground until sparks are flying, has no effect on camber.

    • @Baasicstuff
      @Baasicstuff  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The GoPro made it look like an egg did look crazy, I know as for how she looks in real life? Your crazy if you think this car looks anything but cool. Other than the all wheel drive cars like the EVO nothing beats front wheel drive on these country roads. You hit allot of grass, gravel, sand etc those big rear wheel drive cars end up in a ditch real quick out here; unless they have a real good driver behind the wheel. Rear wheel drive is more fun but front is faster; just thought I would get you off the topic of calling my car silly Q

    • @dzlvs8
      @dzlvs8 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's unsubscribably silly looking. Country roads = Truck. Try one.

    • @Baasicstuff
      @Baasicstuff  10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      dzlvs8 I don't usually entertain folks like you but why would you watch a video then insult a complete stranger? What makes you tick, I went to your channel and watched your video's. I just don't feel the need to insult someone or something that I know is their's and they spent money on. Now if I see something I like I leave a nice comment, but that's just me, that makes me feel good. Funny, is I know if we met face to face introduced ourselves, you would not start off that engagement by insulting my ride.
      That knife video you made is nice, not so many views; its to bad that most folks don't get to see that sweet ass MicroTech, title that video in edit mode and embed it on one of my video's I would be happy to share it for you.

      ***** yep, has to troll my channel, it does take a real man to drive in such a small car. I like fun, I have nothing to prove, it is fun to see the bigger cars nose to nose with me when they try to take me on.
