Don't you ever just wish we could go back to simpler times like this? I wouldn't mind the extra work it took to make a meal. It makes your role in the family that much more important! Sometimes I want to pack up my family & move into a cave somewhere.
I am eating home made Hummus and flatbread, both of which I made myself, as I type this. Middle-Eastern/Levantine food is really delicious and simple to make. I wish I can visit Jerusalem/Bethlehem one day to see the Biblical sites myself. Shalom and Salaam to everyone.

It looks gorgeous. When I first saw the flatbread my Mexican side came out, and I immediately thought, "Hey, Jesus ate tortillas!" In all seriousness, I do find it interesting how many different cultures have some form of flatbread in their cuisine. If I am ever afforded the opportunity to travel to Israel, I will make an effort to travel to Nazareth and visit this place. The food looks amazing, and I already like hummus.

There's the Indian na'an bread, pita bread from the Mediterranean, the flat bread being cooked and served in this video, fry bread among the North American tribes, and tortillas in Mexico, just to name a few. It's amazing to me that so many different cultures would have their own version of flatbread. Your lack of amazement doesn't negate this in any way. By the by, the Spanish "tortilla" is an omelet made up of egg and potato that looks more like a quiche than a piece of flatbread. In fact, given its makeup and preparation, it is most decidedly NOT a form of flatbread. Meanwhile, Mexican tortillas are made of a mixture of masa (made of wheat or corn meal), lard, and water. The traditional method of preparation looks a lot like the way the girl in the video is preparing flatbread. That's partly why I made my comment about Jesus eating tortillas.

Call the Israeli internal department or ambassy and ask. I am sure that if you tell them you are interested in Christian sites, they will get you in, no problem. I heard there is no visa in Israel anymore. They just give every arriving tourist a paper at the airport, which is your 3 months permission. :)

The bread is easy to make grain and or flour with real olive oil. They also use to make a thing called leather pancakes.
And the Sabbath meal is done differnt after very course a glass of wine was drank and the lamb was the last meal served and consist of 7 courses.
