Thank you Soo much for clarifying fatty acids and Omega 3s!!!!
Some very charismatic people on social media are pushing High Omega 3s as you know.
I believe YOU!! We need to trust our bodies on a balanced plant based diet! 🙏

I understand the logic...because a recent double blinded placebo controlled dermatological study showed that consuming 1 gm of low molecular weight collagen significantly inproved eye wrinkles. So i think you need to put some energy into debunking studies like this is you want to be completely believable.

How can logic no hold sway. It either is or isn't logical. A study can be interpreted to show many things. It's like a magic show. Seeing someone sawn on two, it doesn't mean it happened. Its a trick. Unfortunately companies pay for studies to show us tricks and they call it science so people who don't understand complex processes will believe.
This presentation helped me understand some complex processes and for that, I am grateful.

@@monicapoole2115 well studies and scientific inquiry often show that what we thought was logical...was ultimately not the truth...that's why we no longer think the earth is flat...why we we know we dont have to eat animal muscle to build muscle. Logic only can be valid when careful and controlled and replicated observations show it is so...and that only lasts until some other observation causes questioning of the first assumed validity. Now this large double blinded placebo controlled study apparently belies the logic of "consuming collagen peptides does nothing for skin integrity because those intact peptides cannot make it to the skin". A seeker of truth has to examine this study and find its flaw if we are to discount it...difficult since the results were clearly measurable and authenticated by before and after imaging of cellular structures. We cant just keep pandering to the same talking points just because we vegans don't want something to be true. That's just putting our heads in sand. Logic is not the answer here. Science is.

@@betzib8021 yes, but once true is found to be true, as in, the world is round, then its time to believe, right.

@@monicapoole2115 yes...exactly...and collagen peptides from the animal product have now been found in human skin and shown to have added to the original collagen existing before the ingestion of product...as shown in several smaller studies and now this large independent study...We need to admit what is now a new truth...we can't just ignore these findings. Collagen ingestion has been shown to be beneficial. Skin health is far more important than just cosmetic appeal...but because of cosmetic improvement...it appeals to everybody. If we want to influence others toward eating only plants...we need to stop denying what is becoming evident and push for exploration of ways to achieve this same result with plants or with lab synthesis of collagen peptides...(should be an easy task to synthesize small amino acid chains with synthetic molecular chemistry). Because nonvegans WILL be scarfing down collagen like crazy and many new...or not so committed vegans will add animal collagen to their diets...and animals will suffer and die for human skin as well as human nutrition. We need to wake up and face the world as it is..and find ways to deal with facts....if we really want animals to have lives of their own. Otherwise we vegans will continue to be a small sect doing only a relatively small amount of good for both humans and animals.

Thanks for watching the presentation and your thoughtful comment. I wish there were time to debunk every small, poorly designed and executed, and improperly analyzed study. I wish there were a way to warn readers more prominently when a study is financed by industry. These are major constraints. So that's why I've honed in on presenting understandable basic science, and orienting people in the direction of starting from basic science in making decisions
