Thank you. That helped me replace the broken gas spring on my car (my mechanic is solidly booked the next 2 weeks), one gas spring at 20$, a screwdriver and 5 minutes of work and Boom!! - working again.

Thank you SO much. I've been putting this off for five years because I thought it was difficult and expensive, and I just replaced the struts in about three minutes. You've made my week. Up until now the boot was incredibly difficult to open, and wouldn't stay open by itself.

Thank you for that video. It's such a relief to have someone show you how! A kind community service.

I echo the comments of others.
My Golf Mk 3 struts had finally given out, so the taligate woudn't stay open.
Like symphonicity, I was expecting a costly, difficult job. BUT . . .
I found replacement struts on eBay for £10.98, icluding postage.
No instructions, so 10 minutes scratching my head. Then 5 minutes on Google, 2 minutes to watch the video, and 10 minutes to fix.
    JOB DONE !!
Thank you SO MUCH, Rob !!

Brilliant! No more wedged in broomsticks. No more "What's with the purple groove on the bridge of your nose?" Put this off for ages until I saw your video. Thanks!

Thank you - I have just ordered replacement struts as one had failed - thought it worth replacing the pair for the extra few quid. I really appreciate the brief, informative video. So many love the sound of their own voice and make a quick task look arduous - this makes it look so easy!

Incredible! Thanks. One guy offered to fit them at a charge and I thought, “nah fam there’s TH-cam.”
Your video was the first I landed on and it took me exactly 3 minutes to fit! Thanks

Brilliant, thanks. No instructions came with mine and I had presumed you had to hit them hard to get them off. This video makes me realize how many courses you go on could be replaced by some good video resources. I watched the essential screwdriver bit twice... ideal medium, well made.

Thanks very much, it worked exactly as your video showed: Changed the struts on my i3 with ease in under a couple of minutes a side. The clips pried off exactly as the video showed. As others said, it's seeing you do it that gives the confidence to give it a go. After the change of struts the tailgate lifts itself up just like it used to do.

I just replaced mine hoping as well that it would rise itself but it does not. however I can open it now without having the same noise that he has with the old springs.
There are some hydraulic systems out there though which will make it rise itself.

with the scru driver he is taking out the gasket kind of thing, and then structs can come out easily. that thing is called what.. well I broke it while ficing it back, because it came out completely in my case.
