I agree. It's heart breaking to know your husband has another woman but to know who she is must be hard to bear although Mellie kinda turned a blind eye to it in her quest to be in the Whitehouse. Maybe she thought it was just a simple dalliance but she found out it was much deeper than she imagined. He actually fell in love and it was a passionate love I believe more passionate than his love had been for Mellie. He found someone who was just as passionate as he was and that was deadly. Anytime your husband tells you to stay away from his mistress, you know you have lost him.
The beginning of this video is so perfect seeing that is exactly what Mellie is doing in the scene. Biting her tongue and holding her breath. Brilliant. I haven't even watched beyond that part yet, lol.
She's a great wife, became a great mother after all. I was too sad for her when I watched Scandal, and Olivia and Fitz started their role. Sometimes we all got happy for O and F, but at the same time we known what was wrong in that. If we were in Mellie's place we shouldn't be nice with this.

I come back to watch this video every few weeks! It is the best Mellie video I have found (and I watch a lot of them :P ) I just had a thought as I watched this. Before I wanted Mellie to find someone to love her, and I was so happy that could have been Andrew. But then we he became a jerk. So now I have a new hope for Mellie. I was to see her become the first (elected) female president and I want her to do it on her own! She is ambitious and strong and I believe she could do it. I don't know if there has ever been a president elected without a first lady (I live in Ireland my knowledge of American Presidents is lacking) but I think she could do it. She could be president and be happy and fulfilled by knowing she accomplished an incredible task in the aftermath of so much pain. That is just my hopes for her character. Love the video :)

I'm watching Scandal and all of them are victims in a such a way but Mellie is i dont even know how to say that u just feel her... she is every women in this earth... after all she's been through she smiles no matter what is it... when I looked at her I smile like she does bcse Millie is not a caracter but she is the strenght we all need to feel and gain this whole unfair life and circumstances.... she is human.
