This is one of the best stolovaya vids I've seen. Felt like I was there for it. I could probably cook that meal here in the US for about the same price. I could never get it in the US because no restaurant would serve such a simple meal. Looks wonderful.
It looks like my auld school dinner hall where I'd line up with my dinner ticket! I'm certain this will taste a whole lot better and all for a couple of quid. Bravo!

Hi Partizan, If you told me this video was made in 1982, I would believe it! It's like you are walking into a Soviet Union restaurant. Which part of Minsk is this? Restaurant looks very nice and historic, food is like home made, and cheaper than a cup of coffee. Bona Petit!

Enjoyed watching this Nail, visited a similar place in Kyiv summer 2019, ate almost the same food. Borscht, although mine was much more red in colour, with the sour cream it was epic and packed with flavour, it came with more sour cream, soft small square bread rolls, it was excellent. Also had a pork chop on the bone, but with rice, the cabbage salad and a red compote. It was really excellent, simple fresh food packed with flavour and only about 4 euros. Loving your videos mate, you seem back to normal now, good news, Slàinte Nial.
Reminds me of my work canteen back in Ireland when the women from Eastern Europe took over the place. I'm in the US now, and the food in work here is terrible. Pretty much everything is deep-fried, the only alternative is really bad pizza. But it's cheaper than that, its free!

This reminds me of the cafeteria where my tour group ate lunch in the exclusion zone in Chernobyl. Our tour guide said we were going to have a Soviet style lunch. This was last September
Totally amazing value from a western perspective, but depending on what Belarussians make, they may grumble about the price of this meal, just as we back in Ireland grumble about a chicken roll costing 5 euro or above.

I don't care about any fancy restaurant with their medium rare meats and all ...... Nobody cooks better than homemade meals the babushkas cook at stolovayas
That food looks really healthy as compared to Western takeaway . I would prefer to sit down and have a proper hot meal and if available regularly would be much healthier . Real knives , forks plates and glasses , not plastic .
I hate that people make these videos and don't mention that on average they make €830 a month or less. But go on how cheap the food is, of course it is, they make significantly less.
I live in Ireland and the Soup & bread alone would probably cost you 10 euros , A bog standard meal out in Dublin for 2 with a bottle of wine your not gonna get much change outa 100 euros , Were getting robbed blind here !!

Have you had any run ins with the police or the government while you've been living there? I imagine they may be a little hostile to the TH-cam coverage, although you are always pretty positive and not very political. Has anything 'got worse' since the Russian invasion of Ukraine? What is the feeling on the ground? Is your job there indefinite? Do you have Belarusian Passport now? Citizenship or just a long term visa? Do you have a Belarusian partner? It's not Michelin 5 star, come on bro

This place is close to student dormitories in Minsk center . It is great for food and saving money. Some people know about this stolovaia.

The inflation now is double, going triple, in comparison.
