Coincidentally yesterday I was looking for some comparison, or damage percentages to calculate this. I can say that the complete Zeus set is better for normal battles, and Berserker + Zeus for bosses or mini-bosses; Berserker's extra damage is from the relic's activation, and the relic will not be available all the time, Zeus's damage is permanent; with the Berserker + Zeus we want to kill an enemy quickly. Vidar's set is out.
That’s is true. However, here’s a shortcut. Every time you use a relic and beat enemies, reload checkpoint and all your attacks will have zero cool-down and will be accessible again no matter which difficulty you’re playing on

Berserker cuirass gets buffed when activating relic, kinda defeating the purpose of the comparison i believe🤔, it's always gonna come out on top with this test... i think an all melee-no relic would have been the way to go
Well, the goal here was to show that strength isn’t everything. It’s the perks that basically do the most damage. Even in the video below, I’m activating different perks to defeat Gna in 6 seconds and it has got nothing to do with strength:

The strength caps after 600-650. The defense caps at 650. You wont see much increase in damage after that. So to get more damage its best to use buffs like soulless warrior .The game balances the stats/buffs as other games do

not really, I fought with GNA NG+ with 600def and with few hits I was death, after that I tried a 1k+ build and was awesome, I was hit like x5 times and still alive (the extra durability allowed me to pick health from the ground) with that build I finally was able to killed her :)
@@YT-ry5zm sorry the defense is at 650-700. I tested it out looking at enemies and my health bars at the same enemies. Also take a look at the requirements for the dragon enchantment (600 strength) and steinjborn(650 defense). These are all NG+ enchantments with highest requirements and in someway suggests that soft cap with hard cap at +50
The Zeus + Berserker set can even be better when you use the Gift of Strength relic with the Soulless Warrior perk in Berserker Cuirass and Zeus set, can give triple the damage

I knew that the soulless warrior Perk was going to pair well with the Zeus armour, but what I see happening is that because of the different Perk advantages, the berserker Zeus combo set might not work for everyone's strengths. Another thing to elaborate on is that the vidar set has a Perk that requires you to finish a basic combo and then we get the stackable power up. It depends on what your choices are on each build.

You can use the chest perk as an enchantment, which lets you use the berserker or Zeus chest instead.

Hi dude, I really like your videos, and also that you are very responsive, your videos helped me a lot at the beginning of the year when I started playing “God of War Ragnarök“! But I will tell you that after latest game update [v. 05.05] from Santa Monica Studio, best max damage builds is “Berserker + Lunda“ for Axe and Spear, and “Berserker + Ares“ for Blades! The most powerful weapon with the greatest damage is Axe, with a big difference over the second, where the blades are! I made, and I uploaded a lot of tests, but in the one with the “Compare Best Max Damage Builds“, I did not show in the video “Berserker + Zeus“ because it is much weaker than the above builds.
@@Esports-TT77 thank you for your comment. There are a lot of builds which are definitely more powerful. This video was just to show that strength alone isn’t enough. You need to activate buffs to proc and increase damage output. And yes, the Axe is really powerful. Like here on NG+1:

The Berserker armor activates soul less warrior when you use the realmshift relic. Thus, you automatically give an advantage to the berserker Armor so I think the comparison is biased.
Yeah, I had the same thought. I don’t think it does more damage outside of that. It’s only when you use a relic.
Any relic would do to activate Soulless Warrior. The comparison is just to show that with Soulless Warrior active, the 17 second window deal the most damage. It if you’re not using relics and just want to hack and slash, then Zeus does more damage

I still think they are relative to eachother as you need a relic for berserker to be superior, and full zeus set makes you stronger constantly although you are more vulnerable constantly unlike berserker. So overall I think it suits eachother really well if your play style and build is very aggressive and constantly hitting the enemy id say zeus, but if your playstyle is still aggressive but your build let’s you have your runic more readily available then berserker
That’s the thing. It all depends on everyone’s play style and preference. This video is just to show that if we were to use EVERYTHING which build would do more damage. And with Soulless Warrior on the Berserker Cuirass, it shreds HPs

@@glioblastome i was able to defeat Gna in 13 seconds on GMGOW, and while I was attempting it, I tried a number of different things but found certain enchantments a lot better
To be fair the strength build could be strongest if you change the enchantments up to have alfheim set activated, the 2 enchantment required have for strength, the 2 enchantment armors ment for strength (dragon fury, and the other name I forgot), and finally I just equipped the wrath enchantment.
Theirs 2 choices the death from above enchantment or realm shift enchantment (melee danger increase when entering realm shift).
Their actually 2 ways you could used the strength build.
One for dealing with minor enemies (death from above and the temporary buff increase in melee damage talisman) while the other for dealing with main bosses(using time talisman with realm shift enchantment).

Thank you so much man, I kept searching for the zeuserker build but most videos kept saying I need Flawless Berserker Cuirass which meant I would have to complete the game twice and go through all the berserkers again since it would be King Hrolf that drops it. At least I know now that I don’t need to go through the berserk torture again to get this build.

You should also try using the Emblem of the Nine realms, which increases melee damage when using realm shift
However the best would be using the Talisman of Meign

@@akhafasu really appreciate this content truly! There's nobody putting out this type of stuff for the game doing real comparisons between gear and item choices. I hope you will do more like this...just as an example, I'm using the Berserker Chest and 2 pieces of the Zeus right now. The Spiritual Engravement requires a lot of cooldown stat so a few sacrifices need to be made to be able to use this on the weapon attachments, for example you can't use the Furious Maul on the axe. The Engravement gives a 45% damage increase I highly doubt the Maul gives that much but it's not really possible to verify. Like so many skills and procs, buffs, etc in the game it's really unclear what exactly they are doing. "Melee damage based on runic" what does that mean? What damage buff exactly is 400 runic giving to melee? I love the combat in this game but everything is so vague when it comes to comparing what's best.

@@akhafasu there's countless things in this game honestly, there's so many enchantments and abilities that are just really unclear on what they actually do. For things like the Zeus set it's clear - 40% damage increase, or 20% damage increase, this is good. For other things that offer a luck chance to proc, we have no idea how the luck stat affects that. We don't even know what "low, moderate, or high" even means in terms of how often it procs. What benefit is a "blessing of Runic" giving? Obviously it's a buff to runic...but how large or small is the buff? Are the three set realm enchants as good as the single new engravements? It's really hard to know. Is a 45% damage increase better than melee damage increase based on runic? There's no information available on this at all. It drives me nutty sometimes looking at things and trying to decide how to maximize a build haha.
@@akhafasu one more specific thing for you...the Muspelheim 3 enchant bonus you set says you get a damage buff when immolation, permafrost or maelstrom are fully charged. Does this buff still apply when you use the triangle abilities (violent maelstrom L1+triangle)? This consumes the meter so it's kind of unclear whether you are still getting the benefit...or you only get the benefit before hitting the triangle button? Just some things to consider.

@@akhafasu I'm not sure you understood. When I use the Arcane Strength enchantment it does not trigger when using a relic. I haven't tested all of the relics but it specifically says "runic or relic attack hits stack a buff...."
Have you done any testing for relics + Arcane Strength? If you trigger your relic and it attacks the enemy it should put you at Level 1 Arcane Strength...

It did boggle my mind why having over 1000 strength wasn't doing as much as just having the right combo of armor, enchantments, etc. Had 1036 strength at one point with what I thought was a great armor/weapon build but all the Berserkers(King included) were such a pain! Finally sacrificed over 300 strength(I think I was maybe 840) & used different armor pieces, weapon accessories & amulet bits to take them all down .. Gna as well!

@@BigEvilNetwork yup. That’s why I tested all this. People were putting up videos like “1000 strength destroys everything” and then I tested to see it was doing the same damage as 600 or 700 strength. That was the soft cap. Adding buffs and perks increased this damage

I’ve been using the mani chest piece of wisdom that increases vaporize and extinguish damage and I’ve really been trying to find a way to make that as powerful as the other builds. It scales with runic and I haven’t completed NG+ yet, it’s not looking good but I have hope.

Why don’t you replace Mani’s chest piece with Mani’s Engraving instead? It’s the same perk, and then you could use Enlightenment Set chest piece for more RUNIC.
Then, Undying Pyres arm/waist to increase rate of immolation/permafrost/maelstrom, plus Muspelheim Set, which increases damage based on RNC (but rarely ever activate them) for its perk.
Something like that you could experiment with

How can get the seal of runic storm amulet. I don't have it, that is the best amulet. Can you make a video to get that, I found a lot of video but they don't work in ng+
You get it by completing the Burning Skies favour in Vanaheim. I’m not sure if it’s available in NG+ if you didn’t get it in your previous playthrough.

But what about when you don't have the buff from using the relic from the berserker armor? Seems like on average in that case the zeus armor may do more damage over time?
Yes it will do more damage. But the only time you would use that would be against normal enemies. If you use it in boss battles, they’ll be longer and harder. You can also use the berserker cuirass against normal enemies too and breeze through the game

That works too. You just need to activate Soulless Warrior through a relic
The one thing you gloss over is how unforgiving the zeus gear is if you suffer any damage (which is multiplied) whereas the strength build does much less DPS but is much more forgiving if your blocks and parries are less than perfect.
Well this comparison is based on what does more damage. Many claimed that strength is all you need. This is just to clarify that different perks and buffs increase base damage

You done it a little bit wrong. You had the soulless warrior buff with the berserker armor. With the strengh build you have to use something that fits to the build like 3 alfheim enchantments. If you combine it i bet the damage would be much much higher

The realm shift makes these tests unfair in my opinion cuz of the perk on it which massively increases melee damage when a relic is activated, without realm shifting, which is stronger I wonder

I just started the game for the first time. I platinumed the 2018 game and I still remember how good the armor sets were. I remember Sindri chest armor with a combination of Valkyrie sets was the most broken thing in the game. Infinite runic attacks, infinite glaive storms until all enemies were dead while you had complete invulnerability while casting the runic attacks. Is there something as broken as this one in Ragnarok?

what do you mean zeus armor has no perk?it has a perk called divine edge, it increase kratos melee and runic damage by 40%
I mean to say that it’s a base perk. Nothing is activated when you like Soulless Warrior. There is a strength cap. So even if you have 1100 strength it won’t deal more damage. However, if you activated additional strength perks then you can increase your damage significantly. Like here:

Use the Zeus chest and the dragon arms and waist and just use your shield for the most damage
Yes, but the soulless warrior still deals a lot more damage in those 17 seconds for which it is active. If you’re not using a relic then yes, the Zeus armor and what you wrote does do a lot of damage
This set up can serve as a more defensive set up for encounters that are more so favour defence like longer winded encounters and the other can be used for more single target bosses
Is this really the best way to compare these builds? Because you're comparing the max damage you can get with Beserker + Zeus build (for 17 seconds every couple of minutes, depending on relic cooldown ) against the regular damage you do with Zeus build.

I think the strength build is fairly weak because the stat has a soft or hard cap on it so that past a certain point, piling on more strength doesn’t increase your damage as much as it did before.
Wheres the other two have unique buffs to them.

ofc the berserker chest armor is better with the slow time relic, however the full set zues armor is way better and deals more damage with Melee attacks 👌

Well yes and no. If you beat a mob with the berserker build and then realms, you’ll get your cooldown restored - all runics and relics will be recharged

The strength build never was too crazy op but it had the least negatives... it would be interesting to se eif it shines not with regular melee but with the blades slamming and shield bashing technique? Well all 3 of them
All three builds are good. But Soulless Warrior when active destroys everything. That 17 second window makes all the difference. But if you’re not using it, I’ve found the Zeus set to be the most effective when it comes to dealing damage. Just don’t get hit 😅

If you only want consistent damage. If you want to increase it however, it’s the Berserker Cuirass you want. The Soulless Warrior skill is broken

The enchantments?
Maybe I'm just stupid and have rickets in my brain, but why the hell wouldn't the build with the highest numerical strength not be doing the most damage?
Because it is raw strength and might have a cap. The others use abilities to further strengthen up. Like soulless warrior isn’t raw, it doubles your damage and then with enchantments which deal more damage to a status afflicted enemy, you shred HP bars
I agree with your video however factually the Zeus armour does progressive exponential damage.
If you’re not using any relics or enchantments, then yes you’re right

Doing all of this because you have the survivalist armour set on it has the best overall stats with no perks it will NOT clash with any of the engravings and the engravings I have on are like the best engravings from the best sets

@@akhafasu you are welcome I just think that using the survivalist set MAY not be what people may want but if you play YOURE cards right you can make it extremely powerful I mean just look at the engravings on this build yes there is big requirements in like strength, defence luck and cool down but the pay off you have like the best sets for defensive and offensive as well as taking hits but then doing shield strikes that will get the health back look at my videos I show of the survive for five minutes challenge I show off getting hit then regaining the health back .and I use a relic with a cooldown of over 3 minutes 2 times I almost used it 3 times .
You reach is so much better than mine like my highest viewed video is only 13k views and that video is almost a year old

Try ares chest, raven tear gloves and boots with the enchantment that lowers rage punch cost. You just pick up health crystals whenever they drop mid rage to extend it for some ridiculously long spartan rages.
That depends. Damage wise, the complete Zeus set. But you can also use this and after the battle restart checkpoint to get all your skills restored

You have to defeat the Berserkers on NG+
Isn’t using the relic biased ? Most of the time you don’t have a relic to use so …
That’s the point I wanted to prove. Strength isn’t everything and there is a cap on it. Activating buffs gives you more power and shreds HP of enemies
Is pummel of the nine realms the best handle for the chaos blades?
I won’t say the best. I use it to do another minor realm shift. You can equip something else if you’d like
Berserker armor sure doesn’t mess around 😂, they should really buff Zeus armor.
Zeus is pretty OP if you don’t use relics
I perfer Zues set because if you don’t want to much damage after a relic attack
Zeus set is great to do normal melee damage. Just don’t get hit.
Ok I get the vid but u comparing with the strength for 1042 even tho the strength is mainly for the axe not the blades. It’d make sense to do a runic build for the blades instead no?
Tried it with the axe too. Still less damage. I just wanted to use the same attack to get a comparison

That depends on your enchantments and the status inflicted on the enemy
hey man, a question to ask the story mode with high power, what armor do you recommend for the berserker and Zeus or full Zeus?
If you want damage, Berserker + Zeus but on Story, I guess full Zeus would be just as good since the enemy will fall pretty quickly

Try full Zeus set with berserker engraving
Soulless Warrior still does more damage.
Berserker + Glory of Sparta
There’s a strength cap, so it’s still better to activate multiple strength buffs than just rely on strength alone
What do you suggest I combine with the berzerker chest on my way to collecting Zeus armor?

A berserker é muito apelona, com a reliquia vc mata qualquer chefe muito facil. A de zeus era pra ser mais roubada ainda já q é especial. Mas essa de 1042 de força era pra tirar MUITO dano sem a reliquia pra compensar a de berserker, assim poderia ficar em duvida entre qual pegar. Agr do jeito q está todo mundo usa só berserker
